ROBERT GRAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

August 14, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope you and your family enjoyed the summer.  I am excited to be the Principal at Robert Gray, and look forward to working with all you and your children.  The staff is looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year. Our Open House is Wednesday, September 4th from 6:00- to 7:00 p.m.  We will be providing a chance for students to introduce their teachers, and provide you a tour of their classroom and school.  I look forward to meeting you all, and invite you to stop in the school cafe and enjoy some ice cream with me!

Our office is now open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Our first day of school for grades 1-5 is Wednesday, August 28, 2019.

Our first day of school for kindergarten is Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

We will provide items that are customarily on classroom supply lists.  Families are asked to supply a backpack, a coat, and shoes for each child attending school at Robert Gray.

The Aberdeen School District, and Robert Gray Elementary, have received the Century 21 grant, which provides funding for the before-and-after- school programming. The plans for this program are currently in the works, and will be ready for the first day of programming on September 30, 2019.

We are in our 7th year of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports program (PBIS) at Robert Gray to continue to make our school a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff.  Each month, there will be an awards assembly to honor and recognize student achievement and success. These assemblies are open for families to attend. New this year is “Coffee with Ms. Dunn” throughout the year. These are one hour coffee sessions to meet and discuss different topics that involve the school and students. There are also several family events scheduled throughout the year.

Our Robert Gray PTO invites you to attend the monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. These meetings are from 5:30-6:30 pm, and will be held in the school library.

If I can be of assistance, please contact me at 360-538-2140, via email jdunn@, or feel free to stop by the school office.

Regards,

Ms. Jamie Dunn

Principal
