This Position Description is meant to serve interviewers, applicants, and directors as a reference tool for determining whether the applicant meets the qualifications, sufficient to perform the tasks and assume the responsibility for the work described herein. Some aspects of this position may change over time according to the needs of the Aroostook Band of Micmacs (ABM).SUMMARY OF POSITION: The TOR Project Director will address the ABM opioid crisis by executing prevention elements that complement the SAMHSA, State of Maine Opiate Collaboration, Aroostook County Substance Abuse Prevention Strategic Plan, ABM Strategic Plan and the Micmac Health Department (MHD) goals. The incumbent will be primarily focused on four (4) goals: completing all necessary grant reporting and budgets with supervisor; Data collection and analysis obtained through tribal-wide, local-area, and state of Maine assessments of opioid abuse; Collaboration with other community-based organizations to provider benefit to the tribal community; and Treatment/recovery support.EDUCATION (AND PERTINENT EXPERIENCE): Must have a Bachelors in PublicHealth or other health related field (case management service, substance use disorder counseling or social services for example) OR High School Diploma with current license in substance use treatment or peer recovery coach (CADC or LADC). Demonstrated successful project coordination work and grant management experience. Expected to present work portfolio supporting project coordination and grant management experience. SAMHSA grant experience preferred.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. All licenses and certifications must be submitted with application and resume to be considered for this position.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and computer literacy. Must be knowledgeable of addiction and treatment behaviors, and social issues. Must have the ability to summarize program activities and information into concise reports and position papers (technical writing skills) and meet all submission deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to plan effectively and meet all reporting deadlines.WORKING CONDITIONS: Regular office environment. Will be required to do local, statewide, and/or out-of-area, travel, as needed to perform job responsibilities, attend assigned meetings and fulfill assigned training requirements.FUNCTIONS/TASKS:Coordinate and implement Micmac Health Department (MHD) project goals and objectives together with SAMHSA TOR grant.Coordinate, provide and document training for community members in Narcan administration and opioid overdose recognition.Coordinate with other community-based organizations to ensure that the opioid program initiatives support ongoing work in the community.Summarize program activities into regular reports for grantors, stakeholders, and the ABM Community Action Committee.Work collectively with ABM Community Action Committee members to establish baseline data/metrics, and to identify strategies for short-term, and intermediate-term outcomes.Upload TOR grant specific (GPRA) data to all necessary and required sites.Collect and analyze data in order to complete project deliverables and reports.Review and abide by the ABM and MHD Personnel Manual.Attends all required TOR training and webinars and assigned community and supervisory meetings and consultations.All other duties as assigned.NOTICE: This position in no way states or implies that the responsibilities and tasks are the only responsibilities and tasks to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
