WHY WAS PROPHET MOHAMMED SEND?

Quran speaks about a God full of fairness, justice and equality. It is also full of kindness, mercy, compassion and forgiveness. Prophet Mohammed was born in Arabia to bring the pagan Arabs who are descendents of Abraham through Hagar or Hajira on par with the people who had received divine guidance.

The Quran speaks a lot about Jews and Christians how God guided them for thousand of years. The Israelites received more Prophets in their lineage ending with Jesus whose message came to pagan Europeons. Pagan God and Goddesses were replaced with worship of One God. This was extension of monotheism from the Jewish teachings all over Europe.

However nearly after 1400 years of Christianity, most of Arabs had a tribal and pagan culture. They lived a nomadic life often ruled by tribal laws of constant warfare.

Abraham was promised by God that he shall have his progeny as many as there are stars in the sky. The Jews and Christians has received revelations the only people left out were the family of Ismael, son of Abraham and Hagar/Hajira.

Hence the God of fairness, justice and equality decided to bring the pagan Arabs on par with the other members of Abraham’s family namely the Jews and the Christians.

This is why the Quran says….Why Prophet Mohammed (p) was send to the Arabs.

The Quran is never meant to replace the Torah or the Bible, but it only compliments its teachings. To the Arabs this was revelation that changed their life forever and brought them into the fold of monotheism.

The nature of the Arabs was such that God knew He had to send a Prophet from among the Arabs and a Quran in Arabic to change their sinful ways for ever.

There are many verses in the Quran that speaks about why Prophet Mohammed (p) was send to Arabia. Kindly read the below references all in unison.

Answer:  You have to read the following ayats in conjunction or in linkage to get the correct answer:

32:3..., "To admonish (Pagan Arabs) people to whom no Warner had come before you (Mohammed(p) in order that they may receive guidance."  ....This means they were lost living in a state of jahaliya or ignorance.

6:155 & 156..., " This is a Book which WE have revealed as a blessing: so follow and be righteous -  so that  you may receive mercy.  Lest you should say:  The Books (Taurat & Gospels) were send down to two people (Jews & Christians) before us, and as for us we remained "uninformed" with all they (Jews & Christians) learned by their hard and relentless studies."

Commentary:........Allah is fair and just to all His subjects.  He wanted the "ignorant" Arabs on par with Jews and Christians who had received guidance through their Holy Scriptures.

41: 42 & 43...., "Nothing is said to you that was not said to messengers before you: That your Lord has at His commands all forgiveness as well as ability to inflict grievous punishment.  Had we send this as a Quran (Divine Reading) in a language other than Arabic, they (ignorant & stubborn Arabs) would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in details.  What a Book not in Arabic and a messenger not an Arab?"

Commentary.....Allah understanding the nature of ignorant Arabs decided to send the Quran in Arabic and a messenger from among the Arabs to guide them as he guided previous people.

26:198 & 199....."Had WE revealed it (The Quran) to any of the non-Arabs and had he (non-Arab) recited it to them - They (Arabs) would not have believed in it.  Thus WE have caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners...they will not believe in it until they see the grievous penalty."

Commentary.......Allah knew the sinful nature of Arabs, they would not listen to non-Arabs advice - no matter how sincere and good it is.

5:19.... "O 'People of the Books (Jews, Christians and Muslims...Abraham's progeny through Issac and Ismael).  Now has come unto you, making things clear, OUR messenger (Prophet Mohammed) after a break in series of prophets.  Lest you should say, "There came not unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no Warner.  But now (in Prophet Mohammed) has come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a Warner and Allah has power over all things.)

This in my opinion is concluding warning to Jews, Christians and Muslims to come to the ways and guidance that is there in Torah, Gospels and the Quran.  But primarily Allah corrected the sinful and arrogant nature of the Arabian tribes that was coming from Prophet Ismael side by giving a Book of Guidance—The Quran.

Conclusion: With the coming of the Quran and Prophet Mohammed (p) as head of Islamic State for the first ten years clarified, explained and put into practice all the injunctions of the divine revelations that are there in The Torah, The Bible and The Quran. Muslim scholars say, Islamic laws are not in contrary to the universal principles of Human Rights that are part of Charter of Human Rights of United Naitons.
