Accepting the

Challenge

The first part of the 2019-2020 year has gone by quickly, and it has been an exciting time. Parents met with their children's teachers during parent-teacher conferences at the end of the first quarter. We are now well into our second quarter. We are focused on Accepting the Challenge to do great things here at Felton.

November is a month of gratitude. Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. That is a perfect reflection of what I have experienced during my short time at Felton Laboratory Charter School. Every day, I marvel at the incredible devotion of our parents and their involvement in our school. I also am inspired by the unique traditions that the Felton community holds so dear. Our teachers have a keen ability to teach and inspire our children. Every day, I celebrate the amazing support of this community to our commitment to Accept the Challenge. We are all growing and learning at Felton.

I believe that the success of our school is built on a foundation of mutual respect. Every day, dedicated teachers and staff nurture a culture of fairness, love and caring, all focused on the goal of providing a safe learning environment for our students and families. This week we have been very excited about the efficiency of our afternoon dismissal. Everyone is taking part in providing assistance to making this a smooth process. We are once again asking you to be committed to continuing this focus as well as focusing on academic excellence through making every minute of instruction count. Please continue supporting our students and teachers during the school day by picking up your student in the carline after dismissal. It is important for each of us to model that every minute counts.

Finally, I am thankful that each of you have kept the trust and confidence in us. You send us your best every day and it is with joy and gratitude, we partner with you in their education.

Sincerely,

Barry Charley

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our annual Thanksgiving meal. I want to thank each of you for your time. I also want to thank the committee that worked so hard to make this possible. This is a wonderful tradition at Felton at such a wonderful time of the year.
