All employees are required to comply with relevant safety procedures/guidelines and equal opportunity principles at all times.Role StatementThis position is responsible for providing high quality; customer focused financial and business services to stakeholders in accordance with Financial Management Act, Treasurers Instructions and departmental policies and procedures.Duties and Responsibilities1.Accounting Services1.1Responsible for the completion of monthly general ledger reconciliations and initiate follow-up action as required1.2Assists in the preparation of the quarterly Whole of Government submission to Department of Treasury1.3Assists in the preparation of the annual financial statements and completion of working papers1.4Assists in the preparation of month end accruals, adjustments and journals1.5Maintains internal financial registers as required1.6Maintains fixed assets registers and performs annual revaluation exercise1.7Assists the Manager Financial Accounting as required to ensure branch goals are met2.Accounting Policies and Procedures2.1Assists in the development, documentation and updating of accounting policies and procedures 3.Corporate Responsibilities3.1 Exhibits accountability, professional integrity and respect consistent with the Communities Values, the Code of Conduct, and the public sector Code of Ethics.3.2Actively participates in the Communities performance development process and pursues professional and personal development opportunities.3.3Responsible for applying equal opportunity principles and practices in all aspects of this role.3.4Undertakes other responsibilities as directed.Essential Work-Related Requirements (Selection Criteria)1.Demonstrated sound experience in financial accounting and reporting.2.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.3.Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills.4.Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act 2006 and Treasurer's instructions.Desirable (Selection Criteria)1. CPA or CA qualification or equivalent or progress towards a relevant professional accounting qualification.Essential Eligibility Requirements / Special Appointment Requirements 1.Appointment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance. ................
