PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

GED test preparation includes Reading, Science, Social Studies, Math and Language. Our prescriptive learning model meets individual needs. Students work independently in a state-of-the-art lab using the latest computer software and a wide variety of study materials. Dedicated teachers work one-on-one to manage student progress in preparation of taking and successfully passing the GED? exam.

Distant/Hybrid Courses: Students enrolled in distant and/or hybrid courses should have daily access to a computer with internet and must have a valid

email address that they check daily. Additionally, students should have all necessary hardware and software components required by their technology program or adult education course.

General Educational Development GED? Test Preparation

A high school diploma opens up new opportunities! You can enter the workforce as a high school graduate, join the military, or continue your postsecondary education with this valuable credential.

Hundreds of people earn their State of Florida High School Diploma after attending McFatter's successful GED? program. They are people just like you. No matter when or why you left high school, it's never too late to get an accredited high school diploma.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Prospective students must:

Come to McFatter to register for the TABE test (placement test)

Applicants who have completed the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and have met with the program counselor, may enroll into the GED? program.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE/CONTENT

The GED program is non-graded and characterized by open-entry/open-exit, self-paced instructional modules, flexible schedules, and performance-based evaluation. The program is divided into five main content areas: Language Arts-Writing, Language Arts-Reading, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics. Career development and education planning is integrated into curriculum.
