The ACCUPLACER test determines which courses you'll take at Montgomery College. Depending on your scores, you may need to take up to three semesters of non-credit developmental/review math, English and reading courses prior to taking a college-level course.
Studying for the ACCUPLACER may make a difference in your placement scores!
TIPS FOR THE MATH SECTION
1. The ACCUPLACER Test begins with Algebra I skills (MA 080 Mathematics Prep I/II). For most students, Algebra I was a long time ago ? review basics using the sites below.
2. Start with a full sample test (includes English & Reading Comprehension).
3. Determine which areas you need to review from the sample test in #2. Study using the Math Study Websites below, especially the MC Mathematics Department Topics Pages & Final Review pages.
4. Note: Calculators are NOT allowed for the placement test. A "pop-up" calculator will appear in some sections of the test. All sections of the ACCUPLACER Test (Math, Reading & English) are untimed.
