Certification - Attend to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification Classroom Course - Simulation Center (Ground Floor, Old ER) Complete - Online Request Form Offered - Each Month (Alternates every other month between ACLS & ACLS Renewal) Offered to ? any participant who has completed a Basic Dysrhythmia course, has a job

requirement for ACLS certification and/or has Director Approval to attend. Please contact jpstephens@uams.edu to enroll in this class. Scheduled - from 0800-1700 Who should attend this class?

o Anyone who has attended a dysrhythmia course o Anyone with ACLS as a job requirement o Anyone preferring a classroom learning environment o Pre-Course Letter

Participants registered for ACLS classes will receive a Pre-Course Letter 1 month prior to scheduled class outlining all Pre-Course & Course requirements for successful completion

BLS Certification in ACLS course o Obtain and complete BLS Online Program prior to attending the ACLS course and have BLS Skills Check performed during the ACLS course (Print & Bring certificate). To obtain online code, complete the Online Request Form. o Skills Checks Include: Adult/Child 1 & 2 Rescuer CPR Infant 1 & 2 Rescuer CPR Use of an AED Bagging

ACLS Certification Requires Successful completion of the following: o Attendance of Entire Course o Pre-Course Assessment o Class Participation o Written Exam Score of 84% or higher o Skills Check Simulation Lab Megacode

ACLS Online

Certification/Recertification - Participants that wish to obtain or recertify their ACLS certification using an online learning module

Online Course - Can be completed at work or home, 24/7 Complete - Online Request Form Course Details:

o You will receive the AHA Online Key invitation email. There are 3 components to Online Course Completion:

1. Online Program (MUST print certificate and bring to the Skills Check Session) 2. Skills Practice (Offered at the Skills Check Stations) 3. Skills Check-Off (Offered once a month in Clinical Education; offered at other

times and locations as posted on other units)

MUST complete all required modules in the program. Optional informational modules and videos are available and encouraged in the online program

MUST complete 9 scenarios (includes 2 Megacodes - Last 2 cases) After completing the modules and Scenarios, you are required to take the online Test. If

you do not pass the test with 84%, you will be required to repeat the test until you pass with 84%. If you experience difficulty with the scenarios or written exam, please contact jpstephens@uams.edu for program assistance. If you have any questions or technical issues, please contact AHA at (888) 242-8883. You have 30 days to activate the key or it will be revoked.

You have 60 days from the online program completion date to complete the required skills check or your certificate expires. If your certificate expires, you must retake the ACLS program at your own expense!

Skills Checks: o Appointment is required o Average Session takes 30-45 minutes o Skills Check Includes: Adult 1 & 2 Rescuer CPR Use of an AED Bagging Respiratory Management (including NPA, OPA & Intubation)
