Plastic Bumper Primer Clear (RFU)

PAINTING PLASTICS

Matrix M500 Plastic Primer is a low solid, fast drying, transparent ready for use primer designed to provide adhesion to a wide range of plastics. Specially designed for flexible plastic car parts manufactured from, polyolefin, polypropylene and ethylene propylene modified. M500 Primer should be used only on those plastic parts that have no existing primer or other coating applied.

Use of a 2 component undercoat prior to topcoat is not necessary unless higher build is required. The plastic primer can be topcoated directly.

Identifying Plastic

M500 Plastic Primer can be applied over:

PO = Polyolefin

PP = Polypropylene

PE = Polyethylene

PP/EPDM = Polypropylene/Ethylene propylene diene modified

PP/EPM = Polypropylene/Ethylene propylene modified

TPO = Thermoplastic Polyolefin

NOTE: M500 Primer should not be applied to previouslyfinished (coated) plastic parts.

The easiest way to identify the type of plastic is to look for the Plastic ID symbol the backside of the part.
