Seattle IIE Chapter – National Engineers Week Activities

This year, National Engineers Week is celebrated officially Feb. 18th - 24th, but some related events happen all year long.

Here is the web site to learn more about the National Engineers Week activity:

Our Puget Sound Chapter of IIE participates in National Engineers Week through our involvement with the Puget Sound Engineers Council (PSEC) - a group of about 20 local engineering societies that meet monthly. Listed below are the National Engineers Week related activities:

Mentor Night at Seattle University

Mentor Night at the University of Washington

Engineers Fair with 25 display booths at the Museum of Flight

Annual Awards Banquet at the Museum of Flight (6 annual awards from member societies nominations)

U.W. Engineering Open House participant

Provide engineer speakers at local high schools, middle schools & elementary schools

Here is the PSEC web site to learn more about each of the events, or other member societies:

Here is the related Engineering Education Center web site:

The local engineering education event that our IIE chapter has chosen to support directly (with a cash donation and by providing some judges) is the Future Cities Competition - Regional Contest (held at the Seattle Center on Jan. 20th). About 20 Washington middle school (7th & 8th grade) teams will be bringing their future city models and presenting them to the teams of engineer judges.

Here is the web site with information about that event:
