The Cape Cod National Seashore is adjacent to the 100 room Provincetown Inn, which is also surrounded by water on three sides. Provincetown, Cape Cod is the Pilgrims first landing place. Nestled in its winding streets are 18th and 19th century homes, art galleries, hundreds of boutiques and restaurants and shops. The “Cape Cod Experience” is a must for anyone and everyone fortunate enough to experience it. For many, it has become an annual pilgrimage. For millions in America and around the world it is their chosen summer vacation destination. If you have never been – you deserve to make this your year to experience Cape Cod. At Global Youth Justice, we have negotiated extremely low nightly rates, so plan to stay a few extra days of well deserved vacation time.

Additionally, we are organizing some optional group activities for participants at the 20th Global Youth Justice Institute this October 2-4,2018. These activities are among the most sought after among visitors to Cape Cod year after year. If you are alone or in a group, plan to come with us as a group to one or more of these activities and/or make time in your schedule before or after a busy day of training and learning. Certainly – feel free to go off on your own or with friends or family as many of our training participants come several days early and/or stay several days late as our low contractual rates at the Provincetown Inn and Resort are the lowest you fill find as we have a contract stating you are guaranteed these low rates – so please take advantage of this training and make time in your busy life to treat yourself to a once in a life-time trip to Cape Cod if you have never been. If you do come with us as a group, your guests are most welcome to join us in these optional group activities. As a group, we also benefit from reduced costs and other amenities.

On the first day of training we will get a head count for anyone wanting to participate on one or more group activities and pick times and collect funds. Costs for group activities are very reasonable and NO additional charges are added to the cost for us to plan and organize these – you only pay what we pay.

We will also schedule “evening walking destinations” and optional group dinners to some of the landmark restaurants like the “Lobster Pot” and “Nappy’s” in Cape Cod. And - of course we will make several trips to the famous “Portuguese Bakery” and to “John’s Fish Shack” for the freshest scallops you have ever tasted! Please note: All “optional activities” will take place outside of the daily training schedule.

“Optional Group Activities while we are in Cape Cod”

Whale Watching aboard the Dolphin Fleet, Picturesque Narrated Sightseeing tours on the Provincetown Trolley, a fun Fishing Trip aboard the Cee Jay, Walk the Rocks, Lobster Pot, and Nappy’s Group Dinner, Daily Walking Excursions, Daily visits to the Portuguese Bakery, and more.

Whale Watch aboard the Dolphin Fleet of Provincetown

Prepare to be out on the Ocean for 3-4 hours. Because Provincetown is already 40 miles out to see, whale sightings often start as soon as we clear port. Whale watching in Provincetown is among the best in the world. Majestic whales often seen include the Finback (60 feet and 60 tons); Humpback (40 feet and 40 tons) and the Mink (35 feet and 10 tons). Please make plans to do this with the group or on your own – it is truly majestic and a memorable experience to be so close to these animals – bring your camera. We get a group rate and this saves about $15 per ticket – so definitely plan to take advantage of this and we will plan this on the morning of the 1st day and at this time – you can also purchase tickets for any youth and adult guests – we will collect $$ and have someone go over and get our tickets.

Take a Sightseeing Tour aboard the Provincetown Trolley

The 1-hour tour is a must for every visitor to Cape Cod. Visit the first landing place of the Pilgrims, the “graveyard of the Atlantic, the Pilgrim Memorial Monument and Museum, travel along the Cape Cod National Seashore, see the oldest home in Provincetown – constructed with timbers from a shipwreck (c. 1746) and hear about Provincetown’s first visitor in 1004. The cost is about $12 or $13 per person and the Provincetown Trolley has graciously agreed to pick us all up at once from our hotel – The Provincetown Seaside Resort and Conference Center. On the 1st day you can also purchase tickets for your guests if you want them to come.

Take Fishing Trip aboard the Cee Jay in Provincetown, Cape Cod

Four (4) hours of fun and thrills for “fisherman” and “fisherwoman” of all ages. Price includes free use of rod, reel and bait. Soda is available and we can bring our own small coolers. Filleting service is available and all boats are Coast Guard Certified. And don’t forget about the cash pool they have for “biggest” and “smallest” fish caught.

Optional Group Dinner to the Lobster Pot

Plan to come on along with other participants and any of their guests to an “on your own” group dinner at the famous Lobster Pot. If you have never had a Lobster Roll – this is the place to have one. The Lobster Pot is also well known for their famous Bloody Mary drink, original “Lobster Bake” and yummy fried or broiled seafood platter. There is a wide selection to choose from and vegetarians will find plenty to eat (just not as much or as good as the rest of us who eat seafood and it rarely gets any fresher than this). The cost is only what you eat and drink plus tax and tip. Dinners typically range from $25.00 to $30.00. Come on along with us or go off on your own and experience the yummy Lobster Pot.

Optional Group Dinner to Nappy’s

Plan to come on along with other participants and any of their guests to an “on your own” group dinner at Nappy’s Restaurant in Provincetown. If you have never had a lazy lobster – this is the place to have one. Nappy’s has a wide range of menu items from steaks and seafood to salads and pasta dishes. The cost is only what you eat and drink plus tax and tip. Dinners typically range from $25.00 to $30.00. Come on along and experience Nappy’s with us as a group or go off on your own.

Walk the Rocks & Daily Walking Excursions

For the ambitious participants, we will do a voluntary group walk across the famous rocks that have been placed strategically in the ocean to allow you to walk through the ocean to the other side and visit a lighthouse. We will also coordinate daily walking excursions in the early morning when the sun rises and at night when the sun sets. You can also choose to just sit on our private beach with a drink and watch the sun rise and sun set in a truly majestic setting.

More Information

There is no need to register for any of these activities at this time. On the first day of training we will coordinate some group activities. Please do feel free to check out the above websites and start planning now. Many of our guests come early and take the Water Ferry in Hyannis to Martha’s Vineyard and/or Nantucket Island.
