ADA UpdateAccording to the 2016 ADA Recruitment and Retention Report, PDA’s active licensed dentist member market reflects a .1 percent decrease (55.1 percent) compared to the 55.2 percent member market share for 2015. This is the smallest drop in active licensed dentist member market share for PDA in five years. The ADA Council on Membership will soon announce the parameters for the 2017 ADA Engagement Program which provides funding to constituents and components for recruitment and retention activities. The Engagement Program replaces the previous Membership Program for Growth (MPG). The focus for the Engagement Program is expected to be new dentists and dental students. Constituents and components can submit more than one application for funding. When the ADA announces the Engagement Program staff is directed to share program details and ideas for applications on the MC SoNet (3/17MCDA1).The ADA is investing $18 million in a three year digital advertising campaign to direct consumers to make an appointment with an ADA dentist. The focus of the campaign is a new ADA Find-a-Dentist tool, which provides consumers with additional search fields and a user-friendly experience. Members are encouraged to logon to FAD5 to complete their profile. The ADA Annual R&R Conference is scheduled for April 20-22, 2017 at the ADA Headquarters, Chicago, IL. Interested committee members are encouraged to attend and to contact their district to inquire about available funding (03/17MCDA2). Texting SoftwareThe request for funding to purchase texting software will be discussed during the April 8, 2017, Board of Trustee meeting. If funding is approved staff will promote the texting program to members and request them to authorize PDA to send text messages.
