Someone commented: I heard something about 2 creations - multiple Adam and Eve's - other created men and women for marrying and procreating – and what is Lillith about?

Had a discussion during the break Friday night, Feb 11th.

Last issue first:

Don’t waste your time or thoughts. Lillith is a myth – total fabrication; possibly popular with some feminists as Lillith was supposed to have been a woman who refused her role and relationship and chose to 'do it her way'.

Lillith, according to the myth, was a wicked woman - proposed as having been Adam's ‘first’ wife - who committed adultery with Satan and who produced a race of evil creatures. There is nothing in the Bible that supports or even alludes to Lillith or any kind of event like those proposed.

Those who hold to a Lillith myth can’t agree among themselves or provide anything more than their own personal agenda to support their supposed claims.

More importantly, the Bible actually contradicts this myth and lie.

- Adam and Eve were the first human beings ever created (Gen 1:26-28; 2:18-25).

- Following their creation, God rested…ceased from His creative acts. (Gen 2:1-3)

o Note: Only 3 beings or classes of beings are called ‘sons of God’ in scripture. This is taken to indicate that they were the direct result of God’s creative intent and acts.

1. angels

2. The Lord Jesus

3. The Church age believers

Ye must be born again…(John 3:30

If any man be in Christ he is a new creation (lit: creature…(2 Cor 5:17)

- Sin entered as a result of Eve's failure and Adam's choice to disobey God's command (Rom 5:14-21)

===========================

To the first part of the question

Was there a need for other creations of men and women in order for Adam and Eve to 'be fruitful and multiply'?

There was only one Adam and one Eve and only one creation. There are some things God cannot do including:

He cannot fail – miss the mark – sin

He cannot be surprised – (think about what that means to you and me)

He cannot lie – if He says it, it’s so…

God did not create a failure that needed to be recreated. Adam and Eve having offspring did not surprise Him. He did not forget about how or who Adam and Eve’s offspring would procreate with. Even mankind’s sinning did not surprise Him.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Adam lived 930 years - we don't know how long Eve lived. During their lives they had many children; male and female. There could have been as many as 10-15 generations alive at the time their deaths. (Genesis 5:4)

Due to genetic problems today, 1st cousins are not permitted to marry in most states in the US. These genetic issues did not exist in Adam's day. My personal belief is the life span and the genetic pool being so close to its perfection at creation, the sons and daughter of Adam and Eve and their descendants intermarrying would not cause any of the physical problems that marriage between people having such close genetic relationships causes us today.

The 10th generation from Adam - at least in the line that the Bible tracks for us - was Noah. Keep in mind that typically only one line is tracked for us in scripture since only one lineage is really important to us and to the fulfillment of God's plan to redeem man. Noah lived 600 years and had children as late in life as 500 years. Every one but three of his ancestors lived at least 900 years.

- Lamech, Noah's father died at 777.

- Enoch, Noah's great-grandfather was 'raptured' at 365 years old.

- The only other ancestor who did not live at least 900 years was Mahalaleel, Enoch's grandfather. He died at 895 years old; missed it by 5.

Even if we limit their ‘parenting ability’ to age 500 like Noah’s example (and there is nothing that says Noah stopped at that point), that's still a whole lot of time to 'be fruitful and multiply' and for their 'fruit' to do the same.

Also note that as late as the lifetimes of:

Abraham and Sarah Gen 11:29; Gen 12:13; Gen 20:3; Gen 20:9-16

Isaac and Rebekah Gen 24:3-4; Gen 24:67; Gen 28:2

Jacob and his wives Gen 29:15-30

they were inter-marrying; at least as far as our society considers it to be intermarrying. Scripture indicates that they all married close family - as close as half-sisters and 1st cousins.

There was plenty of time and opportunity to be 'fruitful and multiple' from the single creation of Adam and Eve without the need for or presence of other 'non-Adamic' peoples and races or some other creation.
