This can be customized and set as a company default either by Newforma Project Center Server or as a standard on all and can then be customized even further for each user’s desktop preferences.Remember this document is a working document that is fine-tuned and expanded with every customer engagement. We value your comments and suggestions for further improvement and look forward to working with you to make your rollout of Newforma Project Center both easy and successful.The Newforma Support and Services TeamProject Home Screen ConfigurationOverviewProject Home provides a launching point for all the capabilities of Newforma Project Center. The primary features of Newforma Project Center are available through Project Home as Activity Centers which reflect the major activities and work processes common in AECO projects. In addition, third party websites and Windows applications can be added to Project Home as custom Activity Centers. The number and arrangement of Activity Centers can be tailored to each project member’s needs.Newforma Project HomeReview the Project Home Activity Center layout and determine if Project Home needs to be tailored to the project team member’s needs. If desired, a “company” Project Home default can be created and set. If tailoring is needed, select Preference from the task bar and Edit project home contents. Simply drag and drop the Activity Centers to display or hide. Once the desired configuration of Project Home is set, go to the server tab of the Project Center Administration activity center, and select a server to which the default configuration of Project Home should be stored. Then all Project Center users can access this configuration.To revert back to the default, select the Revert to Default button to return to the current default configuration established by the Project Center Administrator, stored on the Newforma Project Center server.Customizing your Home ScreenStep 1: Select Preferences from the Toolbar menu, and then select Edit project home contents on the drop down list.Step 2: Simply drag and drop the activities between Project Home Favorite activities, activities and unused activities. When finished select Save Changes. This will save your changes and when a project is opened you will see your new home screen layout. Manage Custom Activities within Project HomeNewforma Project Home provides the ability to create new custom activities to make them available to add to Project Home, or modify or remove an existing custom activity definition. You can define the icon, name and description that appear on the Project Home page then define the action the activity center will perform.Recommendation: If needed, add a custom activity, such as a web site, your company intranet site or Windows applications such as Excel or Deltek, to your Project Home.To set custom activities go back to Step 2 and select . Either edit a custom activity or add a new custom activity.935355-1905Select New to add a new custom activity, follow the steps to setup either the executable or web address.Reverting to the Standard Home ScreenIf you have made changes to your Home Screen and decide to revert back to the Newforma Default settings, select the Revert to Default button.Saving as your Company Home ScreenTo save the project home configuration to the server, Save the Customization of your home screen as the default. In order to be able to save a layout as the Company default (SAVE AS DEFAULT) the user must be a Global Administrator in Newforma Project Center.To Create Custom Groups14471657620Use the ADD GROUP option to create custom groups to sort your Activity Centers.UngroupClick to remove the selected activity from the group.Add GroupClick to add a group to the Activities section. You must then drag and drop activities from any section to the group. This group will appear in the Project Home activity center and the Activities drop-down list.Remove GroupClick to remove the selected group.Rename GroupClick to rename the selected group. ................
