It will then ask you to name the device and write if the device is a permanent connection or if it will be a triggered connection.Step 2: Connecting a deviceRun an ethernet cable between your PC and port 1 of the eWON device. Next open eBuddy and give the device an IP address that’s in the same range as your computer’s LAN addressAfter this you’ll need to right click on the device and go to open in browser. The default user and password will be adm. After this go to Wizards in the top right corner and go through the System, Internet, and VPN wizards. When you get to the picture seen below you’ll need to go back to eCatcher and right click on the device you created and go to Properties > Talk2M Connectivity and grab the activation key. After you enter this and get the device connected to eCatcher you should see the device have this green online symbol appearing next to it on the left sideAfter this you should be able to click on the device and then click connect and reach everything on the device’s LAN by default. If you want to limit which devices can be seen follow the steps belowStep 3: Security settingsRight click on the device you just created and go to properties and then go to the LAN & Firewall section and click Configure LAN Devices & Firewall. Set the firewall to at least the high setting and then go to Add LAN DeviceFrom here you can choose which IP addresses you want to be accessible when connected to the eWON device. You also have the port section which lets you choose which protocols you want the device to allow. If you want to restrict the device to only be accessible to certain people you can go down to the permissions setting and click the restrict to the following user groups button. It will be accessible to all of the administrators on the account but you can also add users or groups that will be able to see these devices on the network as well.Step 4: Users, Pools, and GroupseWONsThis is where all the devices that were mentioned in step 1 can be added. From here we can put the devices into different Pools to help manage multiple locations at once.PoolsIn this example we’re going to create a pool called Region 1 Pool 1. We’re going to set it so that this pool is managed by Administrators first, but we can change this later when we create our groups. After the pool is created you can go into it and then add which devices you want to be in the pools.GroupsThe first default group will be the administrators. They will have access to everything in the eCatcher account. With Groups, you can put people into different areas of security and allow them to view different devices. In this example, we’re creating a group called Region1 that will be filled with the managers for that regionFrom there, you can choose if these individuals can send emails, sms, create pools, groups, or be admins for their group.Once this is done you can start to add the pool that was previously created. This will mean that all the users in this group can see only the devices inside the pool that is added. You can also control what the users in this group can do to the devices as seen below.Another thing that can be done is creating subgroups that will allow you to have a structure similar to what is seen in the picture below:UsersTo do this you’ll need to create a new user as seen belowOnce you create a user you can then add them into a group. If you want them to have access to everything you can add them to the administrators’ group. Or you can create another group that will only have access to devices you choose. ................
