Be consistent in whether title has a hyphen, space, colon or period between letter and space.In the appendix, put the cursor where you want the start of the table title to be. In the Insert menu, pull down to Caption.Instead of using the default Table label, click New LabelName the label for Appendix A “Table A”Click OK and the label should appear with the automatic number in the paper and then you type the name of the table there. Be consistent with any punctuation from table title to table title. We suggest you delete the space between the A and the 1 and either use no space or add a hyphen: A1 or A-1.Format the Caption styleIn the Styles pane, right click on the ? to the right of Caption and select Modify. At minimum, change the type size to 12 point bold and the color to black:In the bottom left corner, click on Format: Paragraph. On the Line and Page Breaks tab, click keep lines together and keep with next. On Format: Paragraph: Indents and Spacing, 3 points spacing after are a nice touch.Figure SEQ Figure \* ARABIC 1 becomesFigure 1If the style is applied to only part of the caption, click in the caption, click Clear Formatting in the style sheet and then click Caption in the style sheet.
