Hey everyone!
My name is Emily. I just wanted to make this short and to the point. I really care about this campus for many reasons such as the intellectual freedom it provides us, the beautiful buildings, its sustained commitment to diversity and the financial aid programs which make a UNH education affordable to many of us (though the state of New Hampshire needs to pay more to our school!). And don't let me forget our hockey team and HoCo, and the new pool. Of course, my experience here is by no means universal, leading some of us to become disillusioned by the Wildcat experience. I admit UNH is not a perfect place, however it is OUR place and we should strive and make it feel that way. This begins with class representatives addressing the issues our class may face with the administration, which is why I have decided to run for Junior Class President. This past year I served as chair of the Campus Structure Council which I thought was a great opportunity and gave me direct leadership experience. At times it was stressful, but I enjoyed it and working for all of you! As some of you may know, I am not afraid to voice my opinion. However, I also understand the importance of listening to others because that is how we all learn and ideas can spring forward. This is why I feel like I would represent the junior class quite well (can you believe how fast time flies?!), so, if you want a candidate that will both listen and voice your opinions, please vote for me. I would focus on cross-campus engagement and working to make the administration more accessible and accountable to the student body. I have also heard some people say they want smaller class sizes. I'm organized, fun, smart, and will listen to you. Thank you! :)
