USING ADJECTIVES

Learning outcomes: To be able to describe nouns using various adjectives.

Instructions - DESCRIBE ME! Give each table/pair a copy of the "Describe me!" sheet (page 2). Ask pupils to discuss the pictures in their groups/pairs. Ask the class questions on each picture to elicit adjectives e.g. `How would you

describe this animal/person?' As pupils to think of synonyms to describe the same noun/emotion.

Materials required: "Describe me!" sheet (page 2).

Instructions - My Superhero! Give each pupil a copy of "My Superhero!" sheet (page 3). Ask pupils to design their own superhero. Ask pupils to discuss their superheroes in groups/pairs. Ask pupils to write a short paragraph about their superhero.

Materials required: "My Superhero!" sheet (page 3).

Tip! Ask students to check for grammar errors (e.g. spelling, punctuation, and

sentence structure).

Challenge! Ask students to think of synonyms

for each word.
