Dear Parent / Carer
We are very pleased to be starting a new and very exciting iPad/Minecraft after school club. The session will revolve around the very popular Minecraft application and give our children the opportunity to use the latest iPads and Android technology. As well as completing a range of exciting educational challenges, students will have the chance to work both individually and 'join the same world' to work in teams.
The after school clubs will run for 6 weeks starting on Tuesday 13th September at 3:30pm and last for 1 hour. There will be 2 clubs each Tuesday-1 for Years 3 and 4 and one for Years 5 and 6.
The sessions will be run by Mi Little Pad Ltd who are a specialist ICT provider to many schools in the South Wales region. As an added bit of excitement for the children, there is also an inter-school Minecraft competition that children attending clubs across the country take part in ! Each week the best creations are posted online for parents, teachers and students to vote on.
Mi Little Pad will be providing 12 tablets per club for the children to use as well as a wifi router to facilitate team activities. Each club can accommodate upto 30 children, but higher numbers would depend upon some parents opting to send children in with their own i-pad / tablet with the latest version of the Minecraft app installed. Both options are available on the online booking platform. Those opting to send in their own tablets will need to ensure that these are left in the school Office for the children to collect for use in the club.
