ACCESS TO POWERSCHOOL: 1. To get to PowerSchool, open Internet Explorer (or the internet browser you use such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) and enter the following link:

2. If you'd like, add it to your Favorites list (or Bookmarks). Because PowerSchool is on the internet, you can log into it from anywhere you have an internet connection.

3. At the login screen you type your first name and last name as all one word, for example: jessedoe), then a semicolon (;), then your password which is changeme.

Your login will look like this: jessedoe;changeme

4. Once you've logged into PowerSchool, click the `Personalize' link on the left side of the screen, type in your old password (which is changeme), then type your new password in each of the two boxes, click the Submit button and you'll now have a secret password to log in with the next time.

IMPORTANT NOTES: If your username and password don't get you into PowerSchool, check for these two things:

o Did you add /admin onto the end of ? Leaving off /admin will cause you to go to the PARENT/STUDENT login screen. You MUST add /admin to the end in order to get to the administrative part of PowerSchool.

o Did you add a semi-colon between your username and your password? You MUST type the semi-colon between your username and your password.

Did you change your password as shown in Step 4? If not, your PowerSchool account is not secure. You MUST change your password to something other than 'changeme'.

TRAINING: Take the online training for PowerSchool Basics through PowerSource.

South Carolina Department of Education has paid for everyone in South Carolina to take any and all courses for free until the end of June 2013.
