EXT. MOUNTAINOUS WOODLAND - MORNING
We glide above the woods to a clearing in the middle of dense trees, where an old church stands alone.
INT. CHURCH - MORNING
It’s dim; little light enters the dirty windows. Sat in one of the pews is VICTOR JOHNSON; a man of rugged appearance in his early thirties. He swigs from a bottle of whisky.
VICTOR
Ah that’s good stuff.
He screws lid on and tosses the bottle to TREY JOHNSON, a scruffy man in his sixties who is sat on the wooden alter.
TREY
Best way to start the day.
He drinks from the bottle.
VICTOR
You got a good feelin’ about today?
TREY
Son, I have a good feelin’ about every day. I’m a good shot.
Victor laughs.
VICTOR
I bet I can beat you old man.
TREY
Cheap talk Vic. Huntin’ isn’t something you learn, it’s in your blood.
VICTOR
Me and you, we got the same blood!
TREY
You’ll never beat me son! Don’t go disrespecting me you hear?!
He motions to the large cross on the back wall with the bottle.
TREY
He’ll never beat old Trey.
He takes another swig.
Victor laughs again.
The door opens. Startled, the two men spin around to see MICHAEL LOGAN; a man in his mid-fifties.
He’s standing in the doorway.
Behind him is SUSAN LOGAN; a plump woman in her mid-twenties.
TREY
What the hell do’ya think you’re doing here?
MICHAEL
We don’t want trouble; we just want to speak with the lord.
TREY
Your type ain’t welcome, especially not in God’s house. Get outta here.
VICTOR
Yeah get outta here!
MICHAEL
Please! We won’t stay long.
TREY
Come to repent your sins?! Nothing could ever wash you sons of bitches clean. People like you go straight to hell! You can answer to the devil for what you done!
MICHAEL
You can’t stop us comin’ here.
SUSAN
Please let’s just go!
MICHAEL
Susan, I want to go inside.
Trey finishes off the whisky and throws the bottle to the floor. It smashes to pieces. From behind him, he picks up a shot gun.
TREY
I’m not afraid to use this on you filthy shits, so get the fuck out!
VICTOR
Or he’ll blow your brains out!
TREY
Quiet Vic!
Susan pulls on Michael’s arm.
SUSAN
(anxiously)
Come on Michael, let’s leave.
Michael stares angrily at Trey, and then leaves reluctantly.
Just before the door closes behind him, Trey and Victor see ROBERTA LOGAN outside. She’s an unusual looking girl in her early teens.
The door closes.
VICTOR
You sure showed them!
TREY
Don’t you interrupt next time! Not when I’m going in for the kill!
He picks up a large machete that has been resting on the floor.
VICTOR
No more lessons Dad, I wanna kill something!
TREY
You’ll never do it Vic; you don’t have it in ya.
VICTOR
Fuck you old man, I can do it!
TREY
Hey! You don’t speak to me like that you ungrateful shit!
Victor chuckles. He walks over to the door and opens it to see Roberta picking flowers.
She turns and looks at him, terrified.
VICTOR
Hey! My old man told you to leave!
TREY
Get her son! You think you’re a killer?! Go get her!!

ext. woods - CONTINUOUS
Two girls carrying large packs walk through the woods.
One is 18 year old JODIE SIMMONS, a preppy blonde.
The other is 18 year old FREYA FOLEY; very “retro” with shoulder length auburn curls.
jodie
I’m so glad we’re going home, this weekend almost killed me.
freya
Get some stamina!
jodie
(smiling)
I have stamina, but we’re not all fit enough for Mount Everest!
Freya ties her sweater around her waist.
freya
Mount Everest? What a drama queen.

EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Victor bursts through the door brandishing his machete. Roberta runs off and Victor follows.
VICTOR
Don’t come back you little whore!
switch to:
EXT. woods - continuous
JODIE
Did you hear that?!
Jodie walks off ahead of Freya.
Freya
(calling)
Jodie, wait!
Freya picks up the pace to catch up. The two girls enter the
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
Roberta rushes past them and disappears into the woods.
JODIE
Hey! Are you ok?!
No answer. She’s gone.
VICTOR!
(shouting)
That’s right! Run you bitch!
JODIE!
(angrily)
Prick, he could have hurt her!
Freya
Please, not another one of your little escapades. Stay out of it!
Ignoring her, Jodie walks towards Victor.
Freya
(to herself)
Shit.
Jodie reaches victor.
JODIE
Hey! What the fuck do you think you’re doing you idiot?!
TREY (O.S.)
Vic! Get in here!
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Trey is loading up a shot gun.
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
VICTOR
Shut it you little bitch, go back to where you came from!
As Victor has his back turned, a MAN creeps through the church door in the distance. The door half closes. We can’t see in.
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Trey hears the door and turns around. He comes face to face with a hideous Man of big build.
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
Victor walks back to the church. Jodie follows, trying to keep up with him.
JODIE
That girl was terrified! You shouldn’t treat people like that!
Victor turns to look at her.
VICTOR
Go away!
He turns back continues towards the church.
JODIE
You have no right to…
Jodie stops in mid sentence as Victor spins around and holds the machete up to her neck. She stiffens; eyes on the sharp edge.
VICTOR
(frustrated)
Go…away!
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Trey aims to fire, but the Man pulls the gun from his grip.
He shoots Trey through the chest, splattering blood on the wall.
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
Jodie screams.
Victor whirls around. A mass of birds fly off in a panic, screeching and flapping frantically.
Freya
(calling)
Jodie!
Freya runs to her side.
JODIE
What the hell was that?!
VICTOR
(fearfully)
Dad, what’s goin’ on?
Slowly, he walks over to the
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
He reaches the wooden steps leading to the door. Nothing can be seen through the gap. He moves apprehensively up the steps.
VICTOR (cont’d)
You ok Dad?
Freya and Jodie freeze. Victor reaches the door. He looks in.
VICTOR (CONT’D)
Hello?
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
He steps into the church. Gradually, he moves deeper inside.
VICTOR (CONT’D)
Dad where are you?
Suddenly, the door slams shut behind him from the inside.
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
JODIE
(calling, frantically)
What’s happening?! Are you ok?!
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
The KILLER appears. Victor sees Trey’s dead body on the floor.
VICTOR
Dad!
He turns to the KILLER.
VICTOR (CONT’d)
You sick bastard!
He prepares to attack, but the KILLER grabs his arm, forcing him to drop the machete.
The KILLER picks it up and plunges it through Victor’s groin until it exits through his rectum.
Victor screams. Blood gushes from the wound, drenching his jeans.
The KILLER rips the machete out and Victor falls down dead.
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Freya
Oh my God, what happened?!
Jodie hesitantly walks down the side of the church and peers through the window. She gasps when she sees the bloody mess. She runs back down the side of the church.
JODIE
(calling)
Freya, run!
Freya turns and runs with Jodie close behind.
As Jodie passes the door, it bursts open. Jodie screams as the KILLER bolts down the steps.
Freya
Oh shit Jodie hurry!
She isn’t fast enough.
The KILLER reaches her and pushes her to the floor.
Freya stops and turns around.
Freya
Jodie!
Jodie screams as the KILLER hacks at her with the machete repeatedly with great speed. It cuts deep into her flesh. The quick slashes of the machete splatter blood through the air.
Freya (CONT’d)
(screaming, crying)
Jodie! Oh God Jodie! No!
The KILLER tears the machete from her body with a sickening squelch.
Freya turns and races into woods.
The KILLER follows.
EXT. MOUNTAINOUS WOODLAND - CONTINUOUS
Freya (cont’d) (O.S.)
Help me! Somebody please help me!
Her screams echo through the mountains.
FADE TO:
EXT. FOREST ROAD - SAME MORNING
A van rushes past.
INT. VAN - MOVING - CONTINUOUS
A girl is leaning against the back of the van. She is 18 year old KANSAS FISHER; stunning, with long, straight, light brown hair and green eyes, not to mention a figure to die for. In her hands is a paper origami fortune teller.

Ok Maddy, pick a number between one and eight.
MADDY BERKLEY, a beautiful 19 year old girl sits opposite. She’s of slender build, with long waves of dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes sits opposite.
MADDY
Ok, three.
Kansas opens and closes the fortune teller once for each number.
KANSAS
Now choose an even number.
maddy
Six.
Kansas reads out the fortune under the paper flap marked “6”.
kansas
You will marry the man of your dreams.
They both look down at
WARREN COOPER, a lean young man aged 19 with messy brown hair. He’s sleeping. A blue baseball cap is pulled over his blue eyes.
The girls laugh.
MADDY
Does it tell me where to look?
17 year old ADRIENNE FISHER is sitting in the front passenger seat. She’s a voluptuous and curvaceous girl with deep brown eyes and curly mahogany brown hair to match. A real knockout.
ADRIENNe
(to herself)
How about up your ass?
KANSAS
(knowingly)
What was that Adrienne?
ADRIENNE
I said make sure he has a cute ass.
KANSAs
(smirking)
Of course you did.
Adrienne gives her the finger through the rear view mirror.
kansas (cont’d)
(sarcastically)
Good one.
Maddy laughs.
Kansas rests her head on the lap of the person next to her.
It is JIMMY BROOKS; a young man of 19 years. He is of muscular build with short black hair and brown eyes. The collage stud.
He looks down to see Kansas looking up at him.
JIMMY
Hey baby.
Kansas holds out the fortune teller.

Pick a number.
JIMMY
(smiling)
Blue.
Kansas playfully hits him on the arm.
KANSAS
Idiot, aren’t you gonna play with me then?
JIMMY
Can I pick the game?
He winks at her suggestively.
KANSAS
(playing along)
What, with everyone else in here?
JIMMY
(smiling)
I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.
KANSAS
(smiling back)
You can play that game by yourself.
JIMMY
What, with everyone else in here?
Sitting up, Kansas rolls her eyes.
JIMMY (cont’d)
I don’t know how much longer I can last.
Jimmy runs his hand up Kansas’ thigh.
Kansas removes his hand from her leg.
KANSAS
(softly)
Down boy.
She leans into him and Jimmy kisses her head.
JIMMY
(quietly, smiling)
Fix me later?
Kansas smiles at him
KANSAS
(quietly)
Maybe, if you’re good.
She kisses him on the cheek. Looking pleased with himself, Jimmy wraps his strong arm around her.
Adrienne watches through the mirror, clearly jealous.
EXT. FOREST ROAD - CONTINUOUS
The van goes over at pot hole.
INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
Kansas and Jimmy are thrown sideways and Maddy hits her arm on the side of the van.
maddy
Ow!
Warren jolts awake, disorientated. He removes his cap.
PETER CLARK, a scrawny but somewhat cute young man aged 18 with short blonde hair and blue eyes, is driving the van. He turns to face the others in that back.
PETER
Sorry, you guys OK back there?
Maddy
(rubbing her arm)
We’re fine.
Adrienne hits Peter hard on the arm.
ADRIENNE
Try watching the road dumb fuck!
PETER
Yeah, sure. Sorry.
Adrienne exhales deeply and looks out of the window.
WARREN
(groggy)
Are we there?
KANSAS
No Pete just went over a pot hole.
maddy
Either that or he hit an elephant!
peter
(laughing)
Don’t be stupid Maddy; your mom’s at home.
Maddy grabs Warren’s baseball cap and throws it over the seat. It misses and lands in Adrienne’s face.
Kansas laughs.
ADRIENNE
Do you mind?!
maddy
No, not really.
Kansas continues to laugh.
Adrienne throws the cap hard at Kansas. It hits her in the stomach.
Kansas laughs harder.
ADRIENNE
Fuck off!
KANSAS
Hostile! Don’t worry; I’ve got some Midol in my bag…
Maddy tries to control her laughter.
ADRIENNE
Grow up.
KANSAS
(saluting)
Will do sis.
Maddy continues to laugh quietly. She looks over at Warren who is dozing off again. She hits him softly on the leg.
MADDY
Hey! We’ll be there soon.
WARREN
I should still be in bed!
PETER
Quit bitching Warren, I’ve been driving the whole time you’ve been asleep, you lazy ass!
WARREN
Not my fault you got the short straw.
PETER
We didn’t draw straws…
WARREN
(grinning)
I know.
Peter looks annoyed.
Warren yawns.
JIMMY
You can’t be that tired!
WARREN
Some couple in the room next to mine are always arguing. It kept me awake. I bet you weren’t up half the night.
JIMMY
(smiling)
Well actually…
Kansas elbows him. He laughs and plants a kiss on her mouth.
MADDY
You can sleep later baby.
She smiles and kisses him on the cheek.
Kansas looks through the windscreen.
KANsas
And in the meantime you can enjoy the view. It’s gorgeous! Don’t you think everything looks so beautiful in the morning?
adrienne
(implied at Kansas)
Not everything…
KANSAS
Oh stick a dick in it Adrienne.
JIMMY
Warren never sees the morning.
WARREN
(laughing)
Not early morning anyway.
PETER
Early?! It’s ten am!
WARREN
Well I bet no one else is out here at this unholy hour.

EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Freya speeds through the woods, breathing hard. She spots the moving van through the trees and runs towards it.
Freya
(screaming)
Stop! Please stop!
She runs alongside the van, but is hidden by trees.
back to:
INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
PETER
You guys are gonna love it out here. It’s like another world compared to the city.
ADRIENNE
I don’t give a shit what world you’re in, you still have to watch the fucking road!
PETER
Sorry! You wanna drive?!
ADRIENNE
This piece of crap? Not even if you paid me.
KANSAS
Well most people do.
ADRIENNE
Eat shit Kansas.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Freya
(screaming)
Help! Please help me! Stop!
She runs out of the trees to the
EXT. FOREST ROAD - CONTINUOUS
She isn’t fast enough. The van passes her and carries on.
Freya (cont’d)
Wait!
She falls to her knees, crying. Then, to her horror, she sees the KILLER further up the road.
He jumps out from the trees and grabs hold of the ladder on the back doors of the van.
INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
The group are shaken around again. We see the killer through the window behind him, climbing the ladder up to the roof.
ADRIENNE
(to Peter)
You fucking retard!
PETER
It was just another pot hole!
Adrienne is about to speak but Peter cuts her off.
PETER (CONT’D)
And I was watching the fucking road!
EXT. FOREST ROAD - CONTINUOUS
Freya
(screaming)
No!
The van moves into the distance, taking the killer with it. Warren looks out of the window.
WARREN
God I hate the outdoors.
MADDY
So why did you come on this trip?
WARREN
Beats listening to my neighbours kicking the shit out of each other every night.
MADDY
Thanks, I love you to.
WARREn
And obviously…I wanted to spend time with…Kansas?
Maddy playfully hits him.
JIMMY
Don’t we all.
Kansas rolls her eyes.
KANSAS
I swear to God I’m becoming a Nun.
Jimmy laughs and playfully pushes Kansas on to her back.
She wraps her arms around his neck. They kiss.
ADRIENNE
Hello?! The car journey is nauseating enough!
WARREN
I came along so that I could spend some quality time with the one and only Madison Berkley; the best girl in the whole entire universe.
Maddy smiles.
WARREN (CONt’d)
Is that it? Did I get it right?
She kisses him.
MADDY
You did.
WARREN
I did? Good. Coz you see, I only came on this trip because of you, so you better show me a good time.
maddy
(laughing)
I’ll do my best.
WARREN
Pete how much further?
PETER
I think we should be there soon.
Adrienne looks in the rear view mirror.
Kansas and Jimmy are still kissing each other.
ADRIENNE
(sternly)
Drive fast.
EXT. MOUNTAINOUS WOODLAND - CONTINUOUS
The sun shines brightly over the never ending expanse of mountainous woodland.
fade TO:
EXT. FOREST ROAD - MINUTES LATER.
The van pulls into a small clearing at road side and comes to a halt. The door opens.
Peter emerges. He inhales deeply.
PETER
You smell that?
INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
WARREN
No need to brag.
KANSAS
Ewww…
PETER (O.S.)
I meant nature.
WARREN
You can smell nature? My God you’ve done this too many times.
MADDY
Well we’re not all haters of the outdoors Warren.
WARREN
Hey! I’m just not into this kind of thing! Besides, what helpful things is Jimmy doing for the group?
JIMMY (SMILING)
I provide the hot animal sex and…
He is cut off by Kansas placing a finger over his lips.
KANSAS
(smiling)
He carries things.
Kansas makes her way to the door.
JIMMY
(suggestively)
Oh yeah baby? Like what?
A large bag comes at him, hitting him hard in the torso.
JIMMY
(in pain)
Right.
EXT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
Maddy climbs out of the van, followed by Warren. She looks at the dense trees.
MADDY
Through there?
PETER
Yep, I know the perfect place.
WARREN
Perfect? Out here? Doubtful.
MADDY
(smiling)
You didn’t just complain did you Warren?
WARREN
No, I was just…
maddy
Shutting up?
WARREN
That’s the one.
Maddy puts her arms around his neck and kisses him.
MADDY
You’ve got me for the whole weekend. Remember me? The reason you came on this trip?
Warren places his hands on her waist and pulls her closer.
WARREN
(smiling)
Yeah, I’m starting to remember.
Kansas appears at the now open window of the van.
KANSAS
Well I hope you can remember how to carry shit.
She tosses some heavy looking objects out of the window.
KANSAS
Now would you mind letting me out?
Maddy and Warren realise that during their embrace, they have been blocking the door. They move aside.
KANSAS
Thanks.
Kansas and Jimmy exit the van.
Kansas throws her arm around Maddy’s shoulders.
Laughing, they run off and fall into some long grass.
Warren turns to Jimmy.
WARREN
Well I guess it’s our job to get the rest of the stuff out.
JIMMY
(sarcastically)
Great…
WARREN
You gonna help Adrienne?
Adrienne is still sat in the passenger seat. She fans herself with a crumpled road map. She doesn’t answer.
Warren (cont’d)
I’ll take that as a no then.
Uncomfortably, Peter goes round to Adrienne’s side of the van and opens the door.
PETER
Erm…Adrienne?
No response.
PETER (CONT’D)
(awkwardly)
I’m sorry about shouting at you earlier Ok? I just get a little stressed out when I’m driving.
He laughs weakly.
She still doesn’t respond.
PETER (CONT’D)
I didn’t mean to upset you, I really didn’t. Am I forgiven?
Silence.
PETER (CONT’D)
Adrienne?
Adrienne turns to him; a smile on her face. When she speaks, her tone is soft and pleasant; uncharacteristically so.
ADRIENNE
You’re forgiven.
Peter gushes with relief, then looks embarrassed with himself.
PETEr
(blushing)
Cool.
Adrienne rolls her eyes and gets out of the van.
PETER
Oh could you just carry…
ADRIENNE
(cutting him off)
No I don’t feel like carrying anything.
PETER
Oh. Ok.
She walks away, putting on a pair of sunglasses. She’s gorgeous and she knows it.
Jimmy is taking things out of the van.
Peter walks back around the van to meet him.
PETER
That the last of it?
JIMMY
Yep.
Peter is about to lock the door.
WARREN
Oh wait my baseball cap.
Peter throws him the keys.
PETER
Lock up?
WARREN
Sure.
Jimmy and Peter walk behind Adrienne towards the long grass.
INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
JIMMY (O.S.)
(calling)
Kansas left a window open.
Warren sees his baseball cap and picks it up. At that moment, he hears a noise on the roof of the van. He looks up to the sun roof. He sees nothing through the glass. He’s about to leave, but remembers the open window. As he rolls it up, we see the KILLER through the window behind him drop down from the roof. Warren is oblivious to this. He exits the van.
EXT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
He locks the door and backs away from the van to get a view of the roof. He still sees nothing.
EXT. LONG GRASS
Kansas and Maddy are lying on their backs.
Kansas has a long piece of grass in her mouth.
KANSAS
Is Warren gonna be ok out here?
MADDY
Yeah, I doubt it bothers him that much, he’s just attention seeking.
Kansas laughs.
KANSAS
No one attention seeks like Jimmy!
MADDY
Yeah? And who gives him the attention?
KANSAS
Ok, guilty as charged! I’m just…attention giving.
MADDY
(smiling)
Very giving.
Kansas is hits her on the arm.
KANSAS
Bitch.
Maddy laughs.
A shadow casts over their faces.
Adrienne stands over them, looking at the grass in Kansas’ mouth.
ADRIENNE
Have you any idea where that’s been?
KANSAS
(sarcastic)
Err…on the ground?
ADRIENNE
Any idea what’s been walking on the ground?
KANSAS
Oh my God you’re right!
She pulls the grass out of her mouth and throws it aside.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
You have!
Maddy lets out a stifled laugh.
Jimmy and Peter appear.
JIMMY
Hello down there.
KANSAS
Oh my Prince! Save me from this dirty ground!
Adrienne rolls her eyes and walks away. Jimmy helps Kansas up.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Thanks.
Jimmy gives Maddy a hand to help her up.
MADDY
(smiling)
Big strong man, doing both of us!
Jimmy opens his mouth to speak.
KANSAS
Don’t!
JIMMY
(smiling)
You’re right, too easy.
KANSAS
Jimmy! Don’t talk about my sister like that!
Adrienne gives a sarcastic smile.
EXT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
Warren is dealing with the equipment.
A rustling noise is heard from the other side of the van. Warren walks around to the back of the van. He sees the bushes moving.
With a jolt, Kansas appears behind him.
He jumps.
WARREN
Shit!
KANSAS
Make you jump?
WARREN
There’s something in there.
Kansas sees the bushes moving slightly. Then they are still.
KANSAS
(sarcastically)
Oh god like what?! A rabbit?!
Warren catches on to her sarcasm. He laughs sheepishly.
WARREN
Right.
KANSAS
Come on, we’re heading off.
Warren pauses, looking at the bushes.
KANSAS
Come on!
She takes his hand and walks him to the other side of the van.
JIMMY
Everything ok?
KANSAS
Yeah, Warren just got scared by some bushes.
WARREN
(sarcastically)
You’re a funny one Kansas.
PETER
Come on, we have to get going.

(smiling)
Yeah, I hear those rabbits are real dangerous.
Warren gives her a disapproving look. As they walk into the trees, the KILLER watches from the bushes; breathing heavily.
FADE TO:
EXT. WOODS - MORNING - LATER
The teens walk along, carrying their luggage.
MADDY
It is out here. How can you not love this Warren?
WARREN
(uncomfortably)
I just don’t. I mean is it really that special?
ADRIENNE
Yeah, it’s not like you can get cable.
KANSAS
There’s cable at home. Feel like turning around and going back?
ADRIENNE
(sarcastically)
Awww, wouldn’t you miss me?
KANSAS
I’m sure I’d get over it.
ADRIENNE
(bitterly)
In a flash.
Adrienne scowls at Kansas as she walks past her to walk alongside Peter.
PETER
Hey.
She raises her hand to block his face.
ADRIENNE
(dismissively)
No talking.
PETER
Oh.
Maddy observes her surroundings, smiling to herself.
WARREN
Wow.
MADDY
What?
WARREN
Quite the happy camper aren’t we.
MADDY
That a problem?
WARREN
(worryingly)
No. Sorry.
MADDY
It’s ok, don’t look so worried!
WARREN
Sorry.

And enough with the apologies Warren, what’s with you today?

Nothing.
maddy
(smiling)
It’s not the rabbits is it?
Warren forces a smile.
WARREN
No, I’m fine.
MADDY
(concerned)
I hope so.
She holds his hand tightly. He smiles.
KANSAS
So Pete, what did you do when you came up here with your dad?
PETER
Oh loads of stuff! Fishing, hiking, cycling…
Warren fakes a yawn. Maddy elbows him, but she’s smiling.
ADRIENNE
Erm…Ok, so did you ever do anything…you know, fun?
Peter looks embarrassed.
Kansas promptly clips Adrienne around the back of her head.

She stops to examine her shoes.

I already ruined these shoes! And we can’t go cycling, we didn’t bring any bikes.

Adrienne looks at Jimmy as he walks past.

She smiles at him seductively.
Jimmy looks uneasy, and hurries to catch up with Kansas.

EXT. WOODS - Late MORNING
Adrienne’s shoe, of the flimsy flip flop variety, finally falls apart.
ADRIENNE

MADDY
Your shoe break?
The group stop walking.
ADRIENNE
Yeah. Pete are we gonna be there soon? I can’t walk without my fucking shoes.
KANSAS
You have fucking shoes? No wonder they’re worn out…
ADRIENNE

Kansas and Adrienne turn away from each other.
Peter points towards some large trees.
PETER
It should be just through here.
ADRIENNE

ADRIENNE

The group get going again. Warren however is stood still, staring into the dense trees.
Maddy stops and turns around.
MADDY

He doesn’t respond, he is still staring, looking worried.
MADDY (cont’d)
Warren?
She places a hand on his shoulder, causing him to jump.
MADDY
(soothingly)
Hey relax. You really Ok? You’re so edgy.
PETER
(smiling)

WARREN

PETER

MADDY

He takes another glance at the dense trees.
PETER
We’re here! See I told you we were close.
Adrienne strolls past him casually.
ADRIENNE

Kansas, Jimmy, Maddy and Warren all follow Adrienne, leaving Peter stood alone.
PETER
(to himself)
“Thanks Pete!” No Problem guys!
Disgruntled, he follows, muttering to himself.
EXT. CAMPING SPOT - MOMENTS LATER
In front of them is a lake. A waterfall gushes into.
JIMMY
Cool!
KANSAS
Pete it’s amazing!
Adrienne appears, brushing dirt from her shoeless foot.
ADRIENNE
(sarcastic)
Wow, a waterfall. Never seen the nature channel?
KANSAS
No, I have a life.
ADRIENNE
Obviously not much of one if this excites you…
KANSAS
It’s beautiful and you suck so stop talking, you’re damaging the environment.
Adrienne scowls at her.
Maddy, Warren and Peter appear.
MADDY
How great is this?!
WARREN
Please excuse her; she’s just having an orgasm.
Maddy narrows her eyes at him.
Warren and Peter busy themselves with some luggage.
JIMMY
At least somebody is.
KANSAS
(sarcastically)

JIMMY

Kansas pulls him close, so that their lips almost touch.

Then shut the fuck up.
She kisses him on the mouth, takes his hand, and runs off with him down the small hill to the shore of the lake.

(calling, sarcastically)
That’s ok guys, we’ll set everything up; you two just have your fun.
MADDY
Oh like you’ve done anything helpful?
ADRIENNE

Maddy grabs Adrienne’s luggage bag.

She pulls off her top. Her long brown hair falls perfectly around her face and down her back.

Then she removes jeans, fully revealing a skimpy bikini. She kicks off her shoes and walks into the refreshing water.

Warren walks away and starts setting up another tent.
Maddy helps and keeps trying to make eye contact, but he refuses to look back. They set up the tent in silence.

ext. forest road - late morning
Breathless, Freya makes her way down the dusty road. She reaches the
EXT. VAN - CONTINUOUS
It’s been damaged. She lifts the now crooked hood of the van to find that the engine has been smashed up.
Freya
Shit.
She can see that the long grass has been trampled. The group must’ve headed in that direction. She runs into the woods.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Freya runs as fast as her legs will carry her. Suddenly, the KILLER jumps out from behind a tree and tackles her to the ground. She screams as she goes down. Managing to free her arms, she hits him hard in the face.
The KILLER falls on his back.
Freya scrambles to her feet and sprints through the trees. She looks behind her.
The KILLER is on her trail.
She keeps running, checking over her shoulder every few seconds. She’s faster; she’s getting further and further away. She keeps going, her heart thumping hard in her chest. She looks around once more.
The KILLER is no longer in sight.
Not looking where she’s going, she trips over a large tree root. Screaming, she falls into a ditch. Her head hits the ground hard, knocking her unconscious as we

EXT. CAMPING SPOT - EARLY AFTERNOON
Maddy and Warren eating lunch in silence.
Kansas and Jimmy are setting up their tent. Kansas looks at Maddy, then Warren.
KANSAS
(quietly)
We seem to have a relationship crisis on our hands.
MADDY
We had a fight. No big.
KANSAS
Are you lying to me? Your best friend in the whole world?
Maddy cracks a smile.
MADDY
I was a bitch. A big one.
KANSAS
Come on.
MADDY
No I was. I said some stuff.
KANSAS
Like what?
MADDY
Just…stuff. About his whole fear of the woods thing.
KANSAS
He’ll get over it, they always do.
MADDY
That’s what you said when you refused to have sex with Jimmy at the train station.

(smiling)

KANSAS

Warren walks past and goes into his tent.

Maddy gets up, and walks nervously over to the tent. She enters and zips the door closed.
INT. MADDY AND WARREN’S TENT - CONTINUOUS
WARREN
You want something?
MADDY
Yes, I wanted to say I’m sorry.
WARREN
Sorry for what? For telling me what you really think?
MADDY
No, what I said wasn’t fair, and I don’t really think that.
WARREN
Then why say it?
MADDY
I was angry. This is supposed to be fun but it’s just a mess.
WARREN
I guess being out here isn’t really my idea of fun.
MADDY
Warren, what’s the deal? Why is this so hard for you?
WARREN
It doesn’t matter.
MADDY

Warren has his head down. He is silent. There is a long pause.
WARREN
My dad went missing out here.
MADDY

About ten years ago. He took me and my mom out here to go camping, and one day, when he went for firewood and just never came back.

No one knows. He was never found.

Warren pulls out a silver chain with a platinum ring looped on it from his pocket.

Warren gently pulls her soft hair away from her neck and puts the chain around it. He kisses her neck.

They wore them on chains, said they were closer to their hearts this way or something.
Maddy turns her head so that their mouths touch. They kiss passionately. Maddy gently pushes him onto his back and lowers herself on top of him.
WARREN
What are you doing?
MADDY
(smiling)

ext. camping spot - early afternoon - later
Adrienne is walking back to camp.
ADRIENNE
Good, lunch.
KANSAS
Where have you been? Peter had to set up the tent on his own.
ADRIENNE
My heart bleeds. I went for a look aro…what do you mean the tent?!
KANSAS

ADRIENNE

PETER

KANSAS
Well who did you think you were gonna be sharing with?!
ADRIENNE

Adrienne walks away. As she passes jimmy, she mutters under her breath, smirking.

Adrienne stops and turns back round to face Kansas.

EXT. CAMPING SPOT - CONTINUOUS
Peter approaches Adrienne.
PETER
Hey, I’m sorry about the whole tent thing.
ADRIENNE
(teasing)
What? You don’t want me in your tent.
PETER
No…I mean yes…no I mean you didn’t seem too happy about it…
ADRIENNE
Well who would Peter?
PETER
(nervously)
Yeah…erm…do you wanna go for a walk or something?
ADRIENNE
(smiling)

PETER

ADRIENNE

ADRIENNE

Peter’s had enough.
PETER

Adrienne is shocked. It’s genuine shock this time.

Adrienne is in shock again at his attitude towards her. She exhales loudly, turns around, and stomps off to her tent.
CUT TO:
EXT - LAKE - SEVERAL MINUTES LATER
Kansas and Jimmy are still in the water. Jimmy has his arms around her and is kissing her neck. He spots Adrienne exiting her tent with a towel, sun cream and a portable CD player.
JIMMY
She seems lonely.
KANSAS
If I start to care, I’ll let you know.
JIMMY
Come on Kans, she’s your sister. You really hate her that much?
KANSAS
Jimmy, if you had her for a sister you’d understand. She drives me insane.
JIMMY
You drive her insane.
KANSAS
She’s always out to get me Jimmy; it’s been like this for years. All I’m doing is defending myself.
JIMMY
What’s her problem? She jealous?
KANSAS
Of what?! What do I have that she doesn’t? She always has to make herself the victim.
JIMMY
She’s not that bad…
KANSAS
Can we stop talking about her? You’re giving me indigestion.

I think that was you avoiding the eating and swimming rule.

Jimmy splashes Kansas in the face.
She screams. She jumps on him, pushing his head under the water.
He rises with a splutter.
Adrienne, now bronzing in the sun, looks out to the lake from over her sunglasses. She rolls her eyes and puts her sunglasses back in position.

ext. cliff top - continuous
Peter is stood by a small river that leads to the waterfall gushing into the lake below.
Peter’s P.O.V:
Adrienne is sunbathing. Kansas and Jimmy are playing in the water. We scan the surroundings, taking in the beautiful view that the altitude provides.
Suddenly, a hand jumps in front of us from behind and shoots towards us, before disappearing out of sight. All that can be seen is the woodland view.
Then, a large machete is raised in front of us. In the blade we see Peter’s reflection; the KILLER’s hand over his mouth.
The machete comes down.
Peter’s screams are muffled by the KILLER’s hand. No one can hear him.
The machete appears again, blood now dripping from it. Peter’s reflection is seen again; his eyes full of pain and terror.
The blade comes down again and again; each time with the repulsive sound of knife through flesh; each time revealing Peter’s reflection before he is stabbed.
The blade comes down for the final time. Peter falls silent. Dead.
EXT. RIVER - CONTINUOUS
Peter’s body falls into the river behind a large rock that juts out of the water. Large puncture wounds are visible in his chest and stomach. The rock is in the way, preventing the current from carrying his corpse. His blood and innards spill into the clear water.
BACK TO:
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
Kansas and Jimmy kiss passionately. At that moment, the waterfall behind them runs red with Peter’s blood. They are too involved with one another to notice.
Adrienne is still lying on her back, music playing in her ears. She also hasn’t witnessed Peter’s demise.
When they finish kissing, he grabs Kansas and lifts her up.
She laughs and screams before he drops her, causing her to plunge under the water with a splash.
Jimmy laughs.
She comes to the surface, spluttering; hair covering her face.
KANSAS
You fuck!
JIMMY
(smiling)
Oh lighten up.
Kansas lunges forward and pushes Jimmy under the water. She waits for him to surface. It seems to be taking forever.
KANSAS
Jimmy?
She looks around. Nothing.
KANSAS (CONT’d)
Jimmy, I’m not gonna fall for it!
She waits. Still nothing.
KANSAS (CONT’d)
Jimmy?!
She can’t help but sound worried.
KANSAS (CONT’d)
Jimmy stop it ok?!
Silence.
KANSAS
(shouting)
Jimmy?!!
Kansas screams at Jimmy blasts upwards from below in an explosion of water.
He wraps his strong arms around her thighs and lifts her out of the water. He lets go and she drops into the water. He laughs as she angrily wipes her long hair away of her face.
JIMMY
(ginning)
You called?
Kansas hits him hard in the chest.
JIMMY
Ow! Shit, take a pill!
KANSAS
Don’t be such a fucking idiot!
(pause)
I knew you were dicking around.
JIMMY
Oh right, so the screams of panic were just for dramatic effect?
KANSAS
Something like that.
JIMMy
Awww admit it, you were shitting a brick.
KANSAS
Fine! You scared me ok?! Congratu-fucking-lations!
JIMMY
It was just a joke Kansas.
KANSAS
(calmer)
I know. Sorry. I just thought something had happened to you.
JIMMY
(smiling)
You were worried about me?
KANSAS

Jimmy gives her a knowing look. She’s lying.
KANSAS (CONt’d)
…yes…ok yes, I was worried! That so surprising?
JIMMY
So I’m not just a fucking idiot?
KANSAS
(smiling)

Jimmy looks uncomfortable.
Kansas moves in to kiss him on the mouth. Destroying the moment, Jimmy moves his head and kisses Kansas’ neck.
Kansas laughs as he playfully nuzzles her neck and shoulder.
KANSAS
Stop it you’re tickling me!
They continue splashing one another and laughing. Unbeknownst to them, a figure stands behind them in the distance.
It’s the KILLER. He stands on a rock behind the rushing waterfall. The water parts as he walks through it and steps into the lake. His body disappears under the water.
JIMMY
Can we get out now? I’m cold.
KANSAS
Poor baby!
JIMMY
All we’ve done since we got hear is swim.
KANSAS
(smiling)
Not true, we put the tent up.
JIMMY
Yeah and I feel like putting it to good use.
KANSAS
Trying to keep up with Warren are you?
JIMMY
No actually I’m trying to keep up with you. You play me hot and cold. I don’t get what you want sometimes.
KANSAS
Funny, I always know what you want.
JIMMY
Kansas I…
KANSAS
(cutting him off)
Five more minutes.
Jimmy smiles, then splashes her with water.
KANSAS
(laughing)
Stop it!
She prepares to splash him but he ducks under the water.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Not this again!
Suddenly, Kansas is pulled downwards. She screams out as she nearly goes under water.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
(laughing)
Jimmy it wasn’t funny the first time, and it isn’t…
She’s cut off as she is violently pulled downwards once more. She screams and laughs.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Ok have it your way!
She plunges her hands under the water and pushes downwards.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
(laughing)
I’ll hold you here and drown you myself!
Then, something catches her eye. She sees Jimmy surface… near the shore of the lake!
He waves at her.
Her face contorts in terror as she realises that whoever is touching her under the water is not her boyfriend. She screams and swims as fast as she can towards the shore.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Oh my god! Jimmy!
He climbs out of the lake, unaware of Kansas’ peril.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Jimmy wait!
She splashes through the water in a panic, reaches the shore and climbs out. She covers her body with her arms, no longer secure with her half naked body being on display.
Jimmy can now see how terrified she is.
JIMMY
Baby what’s wrong?!
Terrified, she runs to Jimmy and throws herself into his arms.
KANSAS
There was someone in the lake!
JIMMY
What?
KANSAS
It was touching me!
JIMMY
Kans it was me, it must have been.
KANSAS
It wasn’t you! There was someone else in that lake! I thought it was you but then I saw you and…
She begins to cry.
Jimmy holds her.
JIMMY
Shhhh its ok, maybe it was a snake or something.
KANSAS

She hides her face in Jimmy’s chest and sobs.
Jimmy holds her and looks out to the lake. He sees nothing.

EXT. LAKE SIDE - EARLY EVENING
Adrienne is still sunbathing, now lying on her front.
Jimmy lies sunbathing on his back next to her, sunglasses covering his eyes.
Maddy and Warren walk hand in hand from their tent towards the others. Maddy swipes his baseball cap from his head and places it firmly on her own. She grins at him.
JIMMY
Hey Warren heads up!
Now sitting up, he throws a Frisbee to warren.
Warren manages to catch it.
WARREN
Not fast enough Jimbo!
Warren throws it back and Jimmy stands up to catch it. Warren runs ahead of Maddy to continue the game.
Maddy walks over to Adrienne and sits next to her.
MADDY
How’s the sun treating you?
ADRIENNE
Like a princess in comparison to everyone else. Did you want something?
MADDY
Look I’m only trying to make the effort. How healthy can this be anyway?
ADRIENNE

Maddy turns and walks away towards Warren.

MADDY
As fun as it looks, I’m gonna ask Peter to take me on a walk. He knows his way around.

MADDY

MADDY

Adrienne appears behind him.
ADRIENNE

MADDY

Maddy and Adrienne exchange sarcastic smiles, then Maddy walks with Warren to their tent.
INT. KANSAS AND JIMMY’S TENT - CONTINUOUS
Kansas is lying down on her side, her eyes closed.
Jimmy enters. He lies down, the front of his body pressed up against her back. He slides his arm around her waist.
She stirs and sighs, enjoying his company.
KANSAS
(sleepily)
Hey.
JIMMY
Hiya beautiful. You ok now?
Kansas sits up.
KANSAS
Yeah fine, it just freaked me out a bit.
JIMMY
Thinking about it, it was probably just Pete.
KANSAS
No one’s seen him since lunch?
JIMMY
No.
KANSAS
I don’t know…it doesn’t seem like something he’d do.
JIMMY
I’m sure it was him. Don’t worry about it.
He wraps his arms around her and begins kissing her neck.
She turns her head to face him and kisses him on the mouth.
He runs his hands through her hair as she caresses his face. They fall back onto sleeping bags and pillows, still kissing passionately.
Now on top of him, Kansas removes his t-shirt, revealing his tanned, muscular body. They kiss again.
Jimmy’s hands slide up her top and over her soft skin. He is about to remove it when the zip on the tent opens and Maddy appears; her head poking through.
MADDY
Hey Kan…oh sorry.
KANSAS
(laughing)
It’s ok. What is it?
MADDY
Just letting you know Warren and I are off for a walk to see if we can find Pete. Wanna come?
KANSAS
Yeah ok, Pete told me about some old church near here that I wanna check out. But don’t you and Warren want some alone time?
MADDY
(smiling)
We’ve had enough.
JIMMY
Good for you.
KANSAS

MADDY
(awkwardly)
I’ll…be outside.
She leaves.
JIMMY
You’re seriously gonna go?!
KANSAS
I’m doing religious imagery for my art project; I bet I could get some really good snap shots for it! Pete said it was old and creepy looking; just what I need.
JIMMY

KANSAS
Save it till I get back.
JIMMY
Can’t you go later?
KANSAS

JIMMY
I’ll take you tomorrow.
KANSAS
We’re going to the caves tomorrow. Come with me, it’ll be fun,

KANSAS

She kisses him and runs her hand down his body. She grasps his crotch.
His eyes widen.
KANSAS (CONT’D)

She turns and leaves, straightening out her top.
Jimmy is pissed off. He throws his t-shirt across the tent.
EXT. LAKE SIDE - CONTINUOUS.
MADDY
You’re coming!
KANSAS
Yep.
MADDY
And Jimmy isn’t?
KANSAS

Not till I get back.
Maddy laughs and walks off with Kansas and Warren.
Adrienne is watching them. A sly smile crosses her face.
EXT. KANSAS AND JIMMY’S TENT - EVENING
It’s a getting darker now, night approaches.
INT. KANSAS AND JIMMY’S TENT - CONTINUOUS
Jimmy is lying down, still looking discontent. He hears someone come into the tent.
JIMMY
Kansas?
He sits up and sees its Adrienne, still wearing her bikini.
ADRIENNE
Guess again.
JIMMY
Oh hey. Everyone else gone?
ADRIENNE.
Yes. Finally.
JIMMY
Excuse me?
ADRIENNE
Oh don’t pretend you haven’t noticed it. The way I’ve been looking at you.
She looks at his body. She wants him.
JIMMY

ADRIENNE

JIMMY

She gets on top of him and runs her hand down his body until she reaches the waistband of his jeans. Her hand continues down into his boxer shorts, and she begins to caress him.
His eyes close and he breathes loudly, the pleasure taking him over. Then, he removes her hand.

At that moment, Kansas enters the tent. Searching the floor of the tent, she doesn’t see them immediately.

She sees them.

She spots her camera, picks it up, and turns to leave.

She turns and looks at Adrienne, then leaves.
EXT. CAMPING SPOT - CONTINUOUS
Kansas runs away from the tent and into the woods.
JIMMY (O.S.)
(shouting)
Kansas!
INT. KANSAS AND JIMMY’S TENT - CONTINUOUS
Jimmy goes for his clothes, but Adrienne grabs them and hides them under the sleeping bag.
jimmy
Give them to me.
ADRIENNE
Jimmy listen I…
jimmy
(cutting her off)
God I knew you and Kansas had issues but going this far to upset her? It’s sick. Now give me my clothes.
ADRIENNE
Jimmy please…
JIMMY
(cutting her off)
Fine. Keep them. You better be out of my tent when I get back.
He exits the tent only wearing his boxers.
Adrienne holds herself. A tear rolls down her cheek.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Kansas runs fast, becoming breathless. She trips and falls, erupting into tears. She stays sat on the ground, crying.
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODS - LATE EVENING
The sky is dark now, a mixture of deep purple and black.
Maddy and Warren are still waiting for Kansas.
MADDY
Where is she?
WARREN
This is getting stupid.
MADDY
Let’s head back. We’ll go tomorrow
WARREN
Yeah. I don’t fancy walking around in the dark anyway.
They head back to the camping spot.
EXT. WOODS - LATE EVENING
Kansas sits alone on a log. Other than her sobs, all is quiet. Then she hears a rustle. She stands up and looks around; sees nothing. She hears the noise again, louder this time.
KANSAS
(fearfully)
Hello?
She hears the noise again.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
Maddy?
(pause)
Warren?
She hears the noise once again.
kansas (cont’d)
Peter? Pete is that you? If you’re trying to scare me I’m gonna…
A twig snaps.
She looks in the direction that the sound came from; narrow passage between the trees. She can’t see down it; the thick canopy blocks out the moon’s light. Shaking with fear, she drops her camera, making the flash goes off. For just a split second, light illuminates the dark passage in front of her.
At that moment, she sees a figure running through the passage, straight towards her!!!
Kansas gasps. All is dark again. Wasting no time, she turns and bolts through the trees.
She looks over her shoulder as she runs. She sees nothing, but someone, hidden by shadows, is following her. She keeps running, breathing harder. At that moment, she runs straight into someone. She screams and looks up to see
Jimmy. He takes her in his arms as she bursts into tears, but she pulls away and goes on ahead of him.
CUT TO:
eXT - CAMPING SPOT - LATE EVENING
Kansas and Jimmy emerge from the trees; Kansas still ahead with Jimmy rushing after her
JIMMY
Kansas.
She keeps walking.

Kansas stop!

He grabs her arm and forces her to stop.

JIMMY

She promptly turns and slaps him round the face. Shocked, she covers her hand with her mouth, realising what’s she’s done.

The tears begin welling up again.

Kansas, I swear to you nothing happened. I mean it was…I…I stopped it. She came in, she made a move, but I stopped it.

Adrienne is now fully dressed, and has witnessed the entire conversation. Her face is drenched with tears.

She looks him up and down.

Kansas and Jimmy see Adrienne running off towards the trees.

JIMMY
Adrienne, I’ve never cheated on Kansas. In fact I think that was you.
ADRIENNE
Whatever Jimmy. Go back to your whore ok?

You’re coming too. It’s late.
adrienne
No. No I’m not going back, not with her there.
JIMMY
I don’t get what your problem is, I really don’t. I mean you did all that just to spite her!
ADRIENNE

Adrienne tries to kiss him but he pushes her away.

She hangs her head; defeated. She wipes a tear from her cheek.

We should get back.
At that moment, the KILLER jumps down behind Jimmy from a tree, brandishing an axe. On his down, he slices the axe through Jimmy’s right shoulder. The blade continues further, cutting diagonally through chest and back.
Jimmy’s eyes widen with horror.
Adrienne screams.
Adrienne
Jimmy!!!
The killer rips the axe out; splattering blood into Adrienne’s screaming face.
Jimmy’s legs give way. As he drops to his knees, the split opens and a mass of blood and innards pour on to the ground. His dead body falls face first on the ground.
Adrienne looks up from his bloody corpse and her eyes meet those of the KILLER.
He raises the axe, ready to strike.
Adrienne turns and runs as fast as she can through the trees, screaming frantically.
The KILLER takes large strides, following in hot pursuit.
CUT TO:
ext. lake side - later evening
Maddy, Kansas and Warren are sat around a camp fire.
MADDY
I can’t believe she’d do that.
KANSAS
I know.
MADDY
I mean I know you two don’t get on but I never thought she’d do something like that.

You ok?
kansas
Yeah, I’m fine. I’m actually worried about her, believe it or not. I hope he found her.
maddy
She shouldn’t have run off.
KANSAS
I’m paranoid enough about being out here; she’s making it worse.
MADDY
You mean because of Peter’s prank?
KANSAS
You mean pranks. Plural.
warren

kansas
He tried it again in the woods, I saw him. He was chasing me.
MADDY
You saw him?
kansas
Well I saw someone. I couldn’t really make out who it was. Scared the shit out of me. It had to be him though right?
maddy
Why didn’t you tell us this before?
kansas
Because last time everyone assured me it was Pete fucking around. I didn’t wanna cry wolf again. You didn’t see him around?
warren
No. We didn’t. I don’t like this, it sounds a bit out of character for Peter to do this.
kansas
(fearfully)
You think it was someone else?
warren
I have no idea. I just think that we should go and find them.
maddy
What if they come back while we’re gone?
warren
Leave a note. We need to find them.

Yeah we’ve been waiting for Peter to come back all day.

It’s probably nothing, but we should check. Hopefully it’s all a big joke, and nothing more.

He checks his flick blade, snaps it closed, and shoves it into his pocket.
CUT TO:
ext. woods - later evening
Adrienne is still running through the woods until she enters the
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
Seeing the church, sees the she runs over to it. On her way, she notices blood on the ground (where Jodie was killed).
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Almost tripping over on the steps, she makes it to reaches the front door. She turns around. There’s no one there. She flies through the door and closes it behind her.
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
She leans against the door, breathing hard, trying to stop the tears. Through a window, and spots the KILLER outside in the distance. She then sees the bodies of Trey and Victor on the floor, surrounded by pools of blood.
Repulsed, she runs down the isle between the rows of pews. She lies down on the floor in front of one of the front pews. It is broken, and moves when she presses up against it, pushing it into the one behind. Suddenly, Jodie’s body hits the floor with a thud. Adrienne hadn’t seen it there, resting on the pew behind. Jodie’s eyes stare at her blankly through the gap under the pew. Adrienne covers her mouth, cramming her scream back in.
She peers over the pew to look at the door. Nothing. Then, unbeknownst to her, the KILLER rises up from behind the altar, wielding the machete.
He slowly walks towards her.
Adrienne spins around on hearing a floor board creek behind her, and sees the KILLER. She screams and scurries away, narrowly missing the machete as the KILLER slashes it down. It cuts into the wooden pew. She scrambles to her feet and runs down the isle to the door. She swings it open to reveal…
The KILLER; Axe poised.
Adrienne screams as he swings the axe towards her. She steps back, avoiding the blade, but stumbles into someone behind her.
It’s the KILLER.
She screams, terrified and confused. Then she realises:
There are TWO KILLERS! Identical to one another! Twins.
They have her trapped.
KILLER 2 lifts her off the ground and carries her over his shoulder; his axe still in his other hand.
She kicks and screams, but it’s no use.
Adrienne
(screaming)
Leave me alone! Get off me!
KILLER 1 reaches altar first. He raises his machete above his head, and brings it down with speed, jamming it upright in the wooden alter.
KILLER 2 forces Adrienne onto the altar. She tries to fight him off, but he has he pinned down on her back. He’s too strong.
KILLER 1 grabs her by her feet. He pulls her feet in opposite directions, spreading her legs.
She continues to scream, horrified by what is about to come.
KILLER 1 wrenches her feet violently.
Adrienne (cont’d)
(screaming)
No!!!
Adrienne slides forward across the wooden alter. Her legs go either side of the upright machete. With one last scream, the blade cuts her lengthways between her legs, slicing her open all the way up to her chest. She falls silent. Blood flows over the sides of the altar.
CUT TO:
ext. woods - night
Freya is still lying unconscious in the ditch. She begins to come round. Squinting, she rubs her head where she hit it on the ground. She realises where she is. It’s night. She’s been unconscious for hours. A look of panic spreads across her face. She climbs out of the ditch and keeps running.
CUT TO:
ext. woods - night
Maddy, Warren and Kansas walk through the dark woods.
kANSAS
(calling)
Jimmy?
(pause)
Adrienne?
She waits for a response but hears nothing.
Maddy looks around.
Maddy
Where could they have gotten to?
kansas
(calling)
Peter?
Nothing.
kansas (cont’d)
(annoyed)
This is just like her.
warren
Well it’s not like Pete.
maddy
What do we do if we can’t find them?
kansas
We will.
warren
(calling)
Jimbo? If you’re fucking around this really isn’t the time ok?
No reply.

Guys?
Suddenly, someone bursts through the trees, startling them. It’s Freya.

(breathlessly)
We have to get out of here!

The four walk through the woods.

Are you sure she was killed Freya? Is that definitely what you saw?
Freya
I saw everything. He killed her. Right in front of me.

We have to get away. Find help.
Maddy

Why didn’t you find help? You found the road; you could’ve gone to find someone. Instead you followed us.

I was miles away from anywhere, and phones are out of range out here.
Warren eyes her, looking confused.

Look. I’m on your side ok? I’m just trying to help you get out of this.

And what is this Freya? A killer in the woods that we have to take your word for? If that’s true then why would you risk coming back here?
maddy
We don’t even know you.
Freya
He killed Jodie. I wasn’t gonna let anyone else get hurt. If I hadn’t fallen I would have gotten here in time.

You can’t find your friends and I’ve seen what’s out here. I know what he’s capable of.
Kansas stops in her tracks. The others come to a halt.

They see the church.
Kansas is standing further into the clearing, looking at the church. A dim light can be seen through the church windows.

Hello?! Pete?
She runs towards it.

(shouting)
Kansas no!
Warren follows her.
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
Kansas runs up the steps, closely followed by Warren. She throws the door open; then freezes on the spot. She stares blankly.
MADDY (O.S.)
(calling)
Kansas?
Kansas remains frozen.
Warren peers through the door way.

EXT. cLEARING - CONTINUOUS
MADDY

Are you ok?
Maddy runs towards the church.

Kansas backs away from the door and stumbles down the steps, nearly falling.
Warren catches her in his arms as she lets out a painful wail.

Maddy runs up the steps to the door.
Warren
Maddy don’t!
Maddy looks inside and lets out a blood curdling scream.
INT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
The bodies of Trey, Victor, Jodie and Peter sit in the pews; staring at the front of the church.
Adrienne is sprawled on the altar. Her blood is everywhere.
Jimmy is behind her. His bloody corpse has been strung up on the wooden cross as if he has been crucified. Candles have been placed around the bodies in a ritualistic fashion; the flames causing shadows to flicker over the walls.
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
Freya hangs her head, knowing she was right.
EXT. CHURCH - CONTINUOUS
As Maddy continues to scream, Kansas bursts into hysterical tears. She almost sounds inhuman. Her painful cries cut through the air like a knife.
KANSAS
(screaming)
No!
Warren holds her tightly as her screams echo into the night.

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT - SOMETIME LATER
They walk through the trees. Freya is up ahead with Kansas while Maddy and Warren walk together just behind them.
WARREN
Freya, do you have any idea where we are?
Freya
No. I’m sorry. I left the church and just ran. I probably changed direction like a thousand times.
MADDY
Maybe we should go back the way we came; I mean we only headed this way to find the others. We know the way to the road from the lake, why don’t we just…
KANSAS
(quietly, cutting her off)
I’m not going back there. That’s where he killed them. He’s there.
MADDY
Kansas we don’t know where he is. We could be walking right to him.
Freya
Or away from him. Like you said, we don’t know.
Warren
If we just keep heading this way. We’re bound to find the road.
MADDY
And what do we do then? If we find it that is…
WARREN
Maybe someone will come by.
MADDY
Yeah and maybe they won’t.
WARREN
Well I don’t know what to do Maddy, I’m so fucking scared and I’m just trying to keep a clear head.
MADDY
I know. I’m scared too.
Warren stops, and so does Maddy. He lowers his voice so Kansas and Freya won’t hear.

(quietly)
I can’t believe this is happening. The nightmares I used to have…I thought I was so stupid being too shitless to come back here. I mean, what are the odds of something like that happening again right?!
Maddy puts a comforting hand to his face.
warren (cont’d)
(quietly)
We should never have come out here. I lost him out here, and now they’re dead too.
maddy
(quietly)
I know. But nobody else has to die ok? We’ll do what you said. Keep moving. Find the road.
Warren
Yeah. Ok.
Maddy holds his hand tightly and they continue walking.
Kansas and Freya are slightly ahead.
kansas
You know, this morning everything was so normal. This just doesn’t seem real anymore. Like it’s not the same day.
Freya
Yeah. I know what you mean.
kansas
I don’t understand why this is happening. This is just…
She tries to stop herself from crying.
kansas (cont’d)
Things like this just don’t happen. They don’t. I mean why are they doing this to us?! What did we do?!
The tears start coming. She still tries to compose herself.
Freya
It’s ok. This isn’t anyone’s fault.
kansas
(crying)
Jimmy and Adrienne…Pete…I can’t believe I’m never gonna see them again. When my mum finds out about Adrienne it’s gonna tear her apart!
Freya
I know, but that just means there’s all the more reason for you to get out of here right?
Kansas
(crying)
I guess…
Kansas stops her tears.

Freya
(looking up)
For what?
kansas
For coming to help us.
Freya smiles.
maddy (O.S.)
You two ok?
Kansas turns around.

Yeah we’re…
Her facial expression changes to one of horror.

(whispering)
Oh my god.
The others follow her line of vision to see KILLER 1 standing in the distance behind them.
maddy
(fearfully)
It’s him.
KILLER 1 hasn’t spotted them.
warren
(whispering)
Move! Come on!
They run until they enter a clearing. There is a small hill at the back of it, which leads to more trees.
EXT. CLEARING - CONTINUOUS
They run through the clearing until they reach the base of the hill.
EXT. HILL BASE - CONTINUOUS
Warren starts to climb the hill but Maddy pulls him down to the ground. He is goes to speak but she puts a finger to her mouth, instructing him to be quiet. He looks to the top of the hill and sees KILLER 2 standing there.
WARREN
(whispering)
Shit.
Freya
(whispering)
Go back! Come on!
They turn around but see KILLER 1 entering the clearing.
KANSAS
(whispering)
What?!
MADDY
(whispering)
Fuck there’s two of them!
Freya
(whispering)
What do we do now?! We can’t move, they’ll see us!
WARREN
(whispering)
We can’t get passed them.
KANSAS (O.S.)
(whispering)
Yes we can.
They turn around.
Kansas is in a small ditch at the base of the hill. It’s surrounded by tall grass. A large, old, fallen tree trunk is wedged in the hill. Decayed, it’s hollow throughout and open at both ends. One end is by the ditch, the other at the top of the hill; like a tunnel from the bottom to the top.
They crawl over to the ditch and climb inside, keeping low so as not to be seen.
EXT. DITCH - CONTINUOUS
KANSAS (CONT’D)
(whispering)
We can climb through here, they won’t see us.
Maddy looks at KILLER 2.
MADDY
How do we get passed him?
kansas
(whispering, nervously)
Ok. We wait till he turns his back, run passed, and hide behind those bushes up there.
maddy
(whispering, nervously)
Ok.
warren
Maddy, you first.
Maddy enters the tree trunk followed by Kansas, then Warren, and lastly Freya.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
They crawl to the top.
Maddy reaches the opening. Slowly, she pokes her head out.
EXT. HILL TOP - CONTINUOUS
She and looks to her right. She watches KILLER 2 until he turns his back. At that moment, she crawls out the opening.
She moves silently behind him. She gets to the bushes and ducks down behind them.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Kansas looks at Warren.
He nods confidently.
She takes a deep breath and prepares to peek through the opening. Suddenly, KILLER 2’s foot appears in front of her as he walks past the opening. Kansas jumps back and gasps. From the tree trunk, she can see Maddy peering round from behind the bushes, watching KILLER 2.
Maddy beckons for Kansas to move. Trusting her, Kansas crawls through the opening.
EXT. HILL TOP - CONTINUOUS
Kansas looks left to see KILLER 2 at the other end of the hill top; his back turned. She darts across to the bushes to join Maddy. They hug each other; relieved.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Warren looks to Maddy and Kansas for conformation. They’re eyes widen. They beckon for him to stay inside, and duck down out of sight.
Warren can hear footsteps coming towards the opening. He turns to look at Freya. They share a fearful look as they wait. The footsteps come closer. Louder. Warren keeps his eyes on the opening. He holds his breath. The footsteps stop. Silence. Nothing can be heard for what feels like forever.
Suddenly, KILLER 1 appears behind Freya inside the trunk and grabs her leg!
Freya screams.
WARREN
Oh fuck!
Freya
(screaming)
Help!
He pulls her leg, dragging her down through the tree trunk.
Freya (CONT’d)
(screaming)
Help me!!
Warren tries to pull her towards him.
Freya kicks KILLER 1 in the face.
He grunts with pain, but his grip on her leg remains.
She kicks him again, harder, and he lets go, falling through the tree trunk to the bottom.
He starts to make his way back up through the tree trunk.
Freya (CONT’D)
Go!
Warren pokes his head out of the opening.
EXT. HILL TOP - CONTINUOUS
He looks left and right, seeing nothing. He turns onto his back to face Freya and give her his hand. At that moment, he sees KILLER 2 stood on top of the tree trunk opening, looming above him.
Warren gasps. No time to move.
KILLER 2 swings the axe down with force, slicing Warren’s head clean off his shoulders. Blood splatters over the ground. His body slumps lifelessly.
Maddy and Kansas gasp in disbelief.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Freya screams hysterically.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy turns away turns away disgusted, while Kansas covers her mouth, fighting back the vomit.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Freya (CONT’D)
(screaming)
Oh my god! Warren!
KILLER 2 jumps off the trunk and crouches over Warren’s body.
Freya screams as he pokes his axe through the opening. With a firm swipe, it swings passed her face, missing her by inches. The blade jams into the side of the trunk. Unable to reach in further, KILLER 2 drags Warren’s body out of the way.
Freya screams as KILLER 1 grabs her leg again. She breaks free of his grip, but KILLER 2 begins to climb inside!
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
KANSAS
Shit Maddy we’ve gotta do something!
Maddy is crying silently.
Kansas turns and looks at Warren’s body.
INT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Freya backs away from KILLER 2 but KILLER 1 grabs her leg again. This time he pulls harder, and drags her down through the trunk.
She tries to grasp the walls of the tree trunk but the rotting bark breaks away in her hands. She screams as he drags her further.
He pulls her out of the tree trunk.
EXT. DITCH - CONTINUOUS
She lands hard in the ditch on her back.
EXT. HILL TOP - CONTINUOUS
Kansas runs over to Warren’s body and searches his pockets.
EXT. DITCH - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 raises his machete, ready to strike.
Freya kicks him in the chest, knocking him to the ground. She looks behind her, expecting to see KILLER 2 inside the trunk.
He’s gone.
Then she sees him standing on the tree trunk above her, axe poised.
She screams.
Just before he brings it down, Kansas stumbles down the hill alongside the tree trunk and plunges Warren’s flick blade into KILLER 2’s leg.
EXT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
He groans and falls off the trunk, landing behind Kansas and blocking her way.
Kansas prepares to stab him through the chest, but knocks the blade from her hand.
EXT. DITCH - CONTINUOUS
Freya scrambles to her feet and starts to climb the hill on the opposite side of the trunk to Kansas.
EXT. TREE TRUNK - CONTINUOUS
Kansas climbs over the trunk with a helping hand from Freya.
KILLER 2 climbs to his feet and swings the axe at Kansas. It misses and cuts into the trunk where Kansas’s leg had been a second ago.
EXT. HILL SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Hand in hand, Freya and Kansas run up the hill.
KILLER 1, now out of the ditch, follows KILLER 2 up the hill after them.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy emerges from the bushes, tears running down her face.

(screaming)

Freya and Kansas follow Maddy through the
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
They sprint at full speed; leaves whipping their arms and legs as they run.
Maddy looks over her shoulder.
The KILLERS are no longer in sight. As she turns back round, Maddy bumps straight into someone. The girls scream.
It’s Roberta.

This way!
MADDy
Who are you?!
Freya
You’re that girl from the church!
roberta
I can help you! Please hurry!
Roberta runs off. The girls look at each other, trying to make a quick decision. They hear the KILLERS approaching behind them.
MADDY
(whispered)
Come on!
They follow Roberta through the trees.
CUT TO:
EXT. HOUSE - FRONT - NIGHT - LATER.
The small wooden house is dirty and surrounded by overgrown foliage. Roberta, Maddy, Freya and Kansas reach the front door.
ROBERTA
In here, Hurry!
They enter the house.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
It’s like the outside; a dirty mess. It is made up of only one room. Bits and bobs lay everywhere in the very dim light.
Roberta slams the door closed behind her.
Maddy takes Warren’s blue cap off her head and puts it on the table. She wipes the sweat from her brow.
Roberta lifts the tatty curtain to peer out of the window.
Susan enters.
SUSAN
Child! What are you doing! Who are these people?!
ROBERTA
I had to help them mama! They were after them!
susan
No! You stupid girl! Do’ya know what they’ll do child?! Do you?!
Michael enters.
michael
What’s going on in here?!
roberta
Don’t let them hurt them pa, please!
susan
Pa they can’t be here!
maddy
Look would someone please just explain what’s going on?!
michael
I’ll tell you what’s going on, they’re cold blooded killers. They’re not going to hurt us again you understand?! Not again! You have to go girls, right now.
kansas
No please! They’ll kill us if they find us!
michael
Well they killed my sister! My Edith! Ever since then things have been bad, especially for Susan, not having her mother around. You’re not gonna cause even more damage for us!

(to Susan)
What happened to your mother?
MICHAEL
I told you, they killed her! They killed Edith!

Not Roberta, Susan is Roberta’s mother.

Kansas turns to see Maddy at the window.

Michael pauses for a moment, and then points to the floor.
MICHAEL
Down there. There’s room under the floor. You can hide.

KANSAS
(relieved)
Thank you.
Susan pulls open a trap door in the wooden floor. She hurries the girls into the crawl space below.
SUSAN
(nervously)
Quickly girls.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS.
Freya enters first and helps Maddy in. Kansas drops through behind Maddy. They back up against the wall.
EXT. HOUSE - FRONT - NIGHT
A bloody axe slams into a hunk of wood by the door step.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
The door bursts open and the KILLERS enter.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The girls stare up at the floorboards above; shadows moving above them.
INT - HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The KILLERS approach the family.
Roberta shrinks behind Susan.
KILLER 2 stands in front of Michael. He grunts and mumbles as if speaking his very own language.
MICHAEL
We don’t know where they are. We haven’t seen them.
He grunts again, louder this time.
MICHAEL
I promise you! We ain’t seen nobody!
KILLER 1 moves over to Susan and Roberta.
Roberta scurries over to the corner of the room where she crouches down and grips the side of a table by the wall.
KILLER 1 moves behind Susan, machete in hand, where he stands in a threatening manner. He breathes hard.
Susan is too scared to move.
KILLER 2 grunts again, slamming his hand down on an old table.
MICHAEL
No one’s been here! I swear!
At the same time, Michael and KILLER 1 spot the cap on the table, right where Maddy left it.
Michael turns to look at KILLER 1; his eyes filled with fear.
Suddenly, KILLER 1 grabs Susan by the hair and pulls her head back. He promptly slices Susan’s throat with the machete.
Roberta screams.
MICHAEL
No!
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Kansas gasps.
Maddy puts a hand over her mouth to silence her.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
Susan’s eyes widen. Blood pours from the fine slit across her neck. As her life slips away, she falls to the floor
Roberta continues to scream.
MICHAEL (CONT’d)
No!! Susan!
KILLER 2 quickly grabs a pair of open sheers lying on the table. He swiftly stabs the blades into Michael’s stomach.
Michael falls back against the wall, screaming with pain.
KILLER 2 pushes them in further, causing Michael to gargle on the blood that has now risen in his throat.
KILLER 2 snaps the sheers closed, slicing Michael’s stomach open. Blood and guts spill onto the floor.
Michael drops to the floor with a thud.
Roberta continues to scream as the KILLERS approach her. They viciously grab her and push her to the floor.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Roberta lands directly above the girls. They stare up at her in horror as she kicks and screams.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 climbs on top of her. He pins her down on her front and spreads her legs.
She screams louder as he begins to thrust violently into her, taking twisted pleasure in her hysterical cries.
He grunts loudly with each thrust.
KILLER 2 laughs excitedly behind them. He grabs Kansas’s camera from his pocket and begins to take pictures of them.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The girls can’t believe their eyes.
Freya holds herself. She closes her eyes unable to look.
Kansas begins to shake.
Maddy holds her; still covering Kansas’ mouth with her hand.
Kansas stares up at the floorboards, unable to turn away.
Through a gap, Roberta’s eyes lock with Kansas’. They stare at each other through the floorboards as Roberta continues to scream. Kansas begins to shake even more.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1’s thrusts begin to slow and his grunts become softer. He climbs off her.
Roberta lies there, shaking and crying. She is too scared and in too much pain to move.
KILLER 2 continues to take pictures of her, the flash glowing wildly with each one.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Kansas begins to cry silently.
At that moment, Roberta’s eyes widen. The sound of ripping flesh is heard. The blade of the machete pierces through a gap in between the floorboards just above Maddy and Kansas. Blood splatters their faces.
Kansas screams hard, but Maddy’s hand stops the noise escaping. The blade shoots back up through the floorboards as it is ripped out of Roberta’s body.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 holds the blood dripping weapon above Roberta and brings it down again, causing her to scream with pain.
KILLER 2 chuckles gleefully, taking snap shots.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The blade slices through again. Freya turns away, her eyes squeezed tight.
Kansas’ shakes intensify. She screams and cries but Maddy continues to silence her with a firm hand over her mouth. Tears stream down Kansas’ cheeks.
Maddy holds Kansas reassuringly, but cries silently herself.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 continues to stab Roberta to death.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The blade forks through the gapped floorboards. This time, the blade splits one of the floorboards, snapping part of it off.
Kansas shakes violently. She cries hysterically as her vomit starts to leak through between Maddy’s fingers.
Maddy holds her tightly; her eyes shut, waiting for it to end.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
The stabbing stops. Roberta is dead.
KILLER 1 stares down at the bloody mess that he’s created.
KILLER 2 takes one last photo. CLICK. No film left.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Silence.
Maddy’s hand remains over Kansas’ mouth; vomit dripping from her fingers.
Kansas’s shaking lessens. She hides her tear drenched face in Maddy’s shoulder.
Freya opens her eyes and looks at the blood dripping through the floorboards. Her face is blank.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 drags Roberta’s body across the floor leaving a thick smear of blood. Now her body is no longer blocking the broken floorboard, some light enters the

In the weak light, the girls see something. Their faces contort in horror.
Skeletons lay strewn underneath the house. The rotting remains of many victims before.
Kansas turns away, repulsed.
Something catches the light. Maddy crawls over to a skeleton. It has a chain around its neck, and attached to it is a platinum ring, just like the one Warren gave to her. Her lips tremble.
It’s the remains of Warren’s dad. They killed him.
A tear rolls down her cheek.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 walks back over to the spot where he killed Roberta.
At that moment, KILLER 2 slams the camera down on the table, causing it to shake. A screwdriver rolls off the table, hits the floor, and falls through the broken floorboard into the
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
In its decent, the screwdriver grazes Freya’s cheek. She yelps in pain before covering her mouth, praying she wasn’t heard.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 notices the broken floorboard. He peers through it.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
The girls sit huddled together; frozen stiff.
KILLER 1 stares back at them. His eyes meet theirs. He’s seen them!!! He looks over to the trap door, and begins to stride over to it.
Thinking fast, Kansas picks up the screwdriver and scurries over to the trap door. There is a metal loop on one edge of the trap door, and another metal loop attached to the adjacent floorboard.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 reaches the trap door and grabs the handle.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Kansas shoves the screwdriver through the metal loops, locking it just before KILLER 1 pulls on the handle. The trap door shakes violently as KILLER 1 tries to open it.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 keeps pulling on the handle. The trap door won’t open. He strides back over to the broken floorboard.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
He looks through it, menacingly.
Freya
We have to get out!
At that moment, the machete bursts into the crawl space through the broken floor board. The girls scream.
KANSAS
Oh my god!
maddy
Move! Hurry!
They go forward, crawling the length of the house while trying to avoid the bones and skeletons that are scattered around them.
Behind them, the machete pokes through again, stabbing the spot in which they had just been sat.
They reach a corner; the edge of the house.
KANSAS
How do we get out of here?!
Freya scans the wall.
Freya
Look!
Just below the floorboards above them, they see a hole that has been filled with bricks. Freya pulls at the bricks. They wobble; small bits of debris crumbling off them.
Freya (cont’d)
Help me move these.
Maddy and Kansas start to pull at the bricks. They spin around when they hear a cracking sound behind them.
KILLER 1 is hitting the floorboards with the machete.
KANSAS
Come on!
The girls continue to work on the bricks, scraping the tips of their fingers on the rough edges. The sound of cracking wood can still be heard behind them.
Freya grips one of the bricks and pulls hard. It shifts, and falls out of the space. Moonlight enters through the hole. She peers through the hole to see the woods. The bricks are blocking a gap at the side of the house that opens onto the ground outside at the back of the house.
Freya
Yes!
Suddenly, a large crashing sound causes them to scream and turn around. They see one of the floorboards splinter.
KILLER 1 continues to slam his weapon onto the floorboard. More of them start to break away.
MADDY
Shit!
Freya
Hurry!
They keep pulling at the bricks desperately. Another falls away.
Freya (cont’d)
Keep going!
Another falls away. Then another. The hole is getting bigger.
More floorboards break away behind them as KILLER 1 smashes his way through.
They pull more bricks out of the hole.
Freya (CONT’D)
Ok that’s enough. Kansas go!
Kansas shifts over to the hole. She turns to see KILLER 1’s head poking through the now large gap in the floorboards. He looks at her, breathing heavily.
KANSAS

KILLER 1 pulls his head out of the gap and turns to KILLER 2. He grunts at him and points the front door.
KILLER 2 heads for the door.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 starts climbing through the gap in the floorboards.
Freya
No!
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
Kansas pulls herself through the hole and out onto the grass. She turns to face the hole and puts her hand through it.
KANSAS
Freya!
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 is fully inside the crawl space!
Freya grabs Kansas’s hand and makes her way through the hole.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
Kansas pulls Freya through.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 grunts at Maddy, brandishing the machete.
MADDY
He’s coming!
Maddy screams. She takes Kansas’ hand.
EXT. HOUSE - FRONT - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 walks through the door and pulls the axe out of the wooden block. The door slams shut behind him.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
Kansas hears the door slam. She gasps.
KANSAS
Maddy hurry!
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy sees KILLER 1 crawling towards her. He grunts as his moves; stabbing the machete into the dirt and using it to pull his bulky body towards her.
MADDY
Oh my god!
She starts to move through the hole. She steps on a brick to help her. It moves under her weight, causing her to slip back down into the crawl space.
Freya
No!
MADDY
Help me!
Freya and Kansas try desperately to help her through.
EXT - HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
We see KILLER 2’s feet stomping on the ground; the blade of the axe swinging along side them as he walks.
INT - HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 is getting closer and closer to Maddy.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
KANSAS
Come on Maddy!
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 gets even closer to her!
EXT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 continues to make his way to the back of the house.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS.
Freya
Maddy get out of there!
KILLER 2 appears at the back of the house.
Kansas screams.
KANSAS
Maddy he’s here!
INT - HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy’s lower body remains inside. Her legs kick and she struggles in a panic to get out.
EXT - HOUSE -BACK - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 draws closer.
KANSAS
Fuck!
Freya
(screaming)
Oh my God! Maddy!
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 reaches Maddy’s legs.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
MADDY
No!
Freya and Kansas pull Maddy the rest of the way.
INT. HOUSE - CRAWL SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy’s legs slide up through the hole as KILLER 1 slashes his machete towards them. He misses. It hits the bricks. CLANK.
EXT. HOUSE - BACK - CONTINUOUS
Maddy gets to her feet, only to see KILLER 2 coming right at her; axe ready. She screams and lunges sideways.
KILLER 2 swings the axe. It misses her and slams straight into the side of the house.
The girls turn and run screaming into the trees.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
They run as fast as they can, but the nights events have been exhausting.
MADDY
We need to lose them, we can’t keep this up!
Freya
Try to hide. They’ll go past us and we can go back the other way. At least we’ll know they’re behind us.
KANSAS
(whispering)
Quick! I can hear them!
They push on wearily.
Maddy and Freya don’t notice the growing distance between them and Kansas.
She can’t keep up.
Kansas breathes heavily. She wants to call out to them, but she doesn’t want the KILLERS to know their position. She stumbles on. Just in time, she spots a large rusty bear trap on the ground. Her foot is heading straight for it! She loses her footing in an attempt to avoid the trap. Falling, she grabs onto the branch of a tree next to her to get her balance. It breaks off, causing her to hit the ground. The branch falls into the bear trap. In a split second, it snaps closed and shoots into the air; rigged to suspend its prey above the ground.
Maddy and Freya spin around to see what’s happened. They see Kansas quite far behind them.
Kansas is sprawled on the ground in shock, breathing hard. She stares up at the trap as it swings on its rusty chain. The branch still remains in its sharp teeth.
mADDY
(mouthing)
You ok?!
Kansas nods.
There is a noise behind her. Rustling.
She gasps and scrambles to her feet. She hides behind a tree just as KILLER 2 emerges from some dense trees behind her. He hasn’t seen her.
Maddy and Freya quickly hide behind some bushes.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy
(whispering)
Shit! Kansas!
Freya
Shhhh!
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 looks up at the suspended bear trap. He knows they’re close by.
Kansas is backed up against the tree, breathing hard. She peers around from behind the tree. She can see KILLER 2 not far behind, looking around the dark woods.
He starts to move towards the tree she’s hiding behind.
Taking a deep breath, she flees from the tree to the left and hides behind another one; just as KILLER 2 reaches the tree she was previously behind and looks behind it.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy watches in horror.
KILLER 2 moves closer the tree that Kansas is behind.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Kansas holds her breath.
KILLER 2 slowly gets closer and closer; axe ready for the kill. He’s right behind her!
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy picks a branch up off the ground and throws it. It lands with a thump.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 stops in his tracks and turns to the direction the noise came from. He turns his back on the tree and slowly takes a few steps away from it. He stops. Looking…
Kansas pokes her head round to see he has his back to her. She turns the other way, ready to sneak away from the tree. She gasps.
KILLER 1 is stood just yards away from her on the other side! He too has his back turned as he looks around. He hasn’t seen her.
Kansas remains silent; stood alone between the two KILLERS. She looks back and fourth at them, terrified. She doesn’t know what to do.
One of them is going to turn around any second!
She looks back at KILLER 1.
He is still stood in the same spot.
She turns to check where KILLER 2 is.
He’s gone.
She turns to look at KILLER 1 and screams.
He’s coming right at her! He races towards her with his machete pulled back.
Kansas turns right and runs.
Suddenly, KILLER 2 jumps out from behind a tree and blocks her way.
She screams and darts away from him; fleeing towards the bushes, running hard.
KANSAS
(screaming)
Help!
KILLER 2 is gaining on her.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
Maddy emerges from the bushes to see Kansas running towards her with KILLER 2 close behind.
MADDY
(calling)
Faster Kansas!
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Kansas keeps running, screaming for her life.
KILLER 2 gets close enough. He grabs Kansas’s long hair and pulls her back.
She screams in pain.
EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS
MADDY
Kansas!
Kansas tries to fight him off but he’s too strong.
He pushes her to her knees.
KANSAS
(screaming)
Let go of me!!
Still gripping her hair, KILLER 2 tries to force her head down.
Kansas sees what’s coming.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
(screaming)
No! No please!
Maddy comes running towards her.
Freya follows.
Kansas’s eyes are wide and teary.
KANSAS (CONT’D)
(screaming)
Oh god no!! No!!!!!
Her earth shattering scream comes to an abrupt end as KILLER 2 forces her head down into another rusty bear trap.
The sharp teeth stab through her mouth and face. The other half of the trap flips over and snaps closed, slicing the teeth into the back of her head.
CRACK!
Blood splatters. The trap shoots up into the air just like the one before, taking Kansas’s body with it.
MADDY
(screaming)
No!!!!!
Freya grabs her, holding her back.
MADDY (CONT’D_
(screaming)
No!!! Kansas!!!
Kansas’ body sways lifelessly in the trees, suspended above the floor. The metal chain clanks. Blood drips onto the ground below, forming a crimson pool.
Maddy is hysterical, screaming and crying uncontrollably.
MADDY (cont’d)
(screaming)
Kansas!!!
Freya is crying too. She pulls Maddy back, trying to get her to move.
Freya
(crying)
Maddy come on!!
KILLER 2 stares at them and makes his way towards them.
KILLER 1 emerges from some trees and joins KILLER 2. They pick up speed and stomp menacingly towards Maddy and Freya.
Freya
(crying, terrified)
Please Maddy! Run!
Still crying and screaming, Maddy turns and forces herself to run.
Freya follows from behind, urging her to keep moving.
The KILLERS continue after them; weapons at the ready.
Maddy and Freya see can see space through the trees ahead. Maybe they’re nearly out of the woods! They run through the trees and onto a
EXT. CLIFF TOP - CONTINUOUS
Maddy’s eyes widen as a large drop appears in front of her. She stops herself, kicking dirt and rubble over the cliff edge.
It plummets down to the rocks below.
She gets her balance, nearly falling herself!
Freya stops also. They hold each other, looking down the steep drop.
Freya
Shit!
They turn around to head back the other way, but the KILLERS are coming at them, blocking their way.
Freya (cont’d)
We’ll never make it past them!
Maddy looks around in a panic, hoping to find a solution. She looks up at a tree.
maddy
Up there!
Maddy begins to climb the tree, getting higher and higher.
Freya doesn’t look too sure.
MADDY (CONT’D)
Come on!
With no other choice, Freya follows. She hoists herself on to the lowest branch. SNAP! It breaks and she falls back to the floor.
Freya
No!
The other branches are too high. There is no way she can climb the tree!
maddy
Freya hurry!
Freya
I can’t!
Freya turns to see the KILLERS coming towards her!
Then she spots another bear trap. It is hooked up to the tree that Maddy has climbed. Thinking fast, she takes off the sweater she had tied around her waist, and stretches it out by the sleeves. She turns once more.
The KILLERS are just meters away from her!
She takes a deep breath, and puts the sweater into the bear trap, still holding the arms. It snaps closed and shoots into the air, taking Freya with it.
KILLER 1 reaches the spot she was just in, and swipes the air with his machete. It misses her foot by inches and she carries on upwards.
EXT. TREE TOP - CONTINUOUS
The trap comes to hard stop, jolting Freya. She screams, almost losing her grip. She swings above the ground; the chain clanking.
Freya (cont’d)
Maddy help me!
The sleeves of the sweater start to rip.
Freya (CONT’D)
Maddy!
Maddy crawls through the branches over to Freya and helps her into the tree. The two of them climb further into the higher branches to get more distance from the KILLERS.
KILLER 1 attempts to climb the tree but fails.
Freya looks down at him.
Freya
(screaming)
Fuck you!
Maddy looks out over the woods. In a not too distant tree, she sees Kansas’ bloody corpse swaying gently in the breeze. Her tears still come.
maddy
(crying)
They killed her! They killed her!!
Freya holds her, trying her best to comfort her.
Freya
(soothingly)
Shhhh. It’s ok. They’re not getting up here.
THWACK!
A loud noise startles the girls. They here it again.
THWACK!
They look down to see the KILLERS cutting at the trunk of the tree with their weapons!
mADDY
No!
Freya continues to watch in horror.
MADDY (cont’d)
(screaming)
Leave us alone!
The KILLERS continue to hack away at the tree, cutting deeper and deeper each time. The tree begins to shake.
Freya
Shit!
THWACK! THWACK!
The tree shakes even more. Maddy looks out into the distance. She can see the road! She points to it.
MADDY
Freya! Look!
Freya
Yes!
THWACK! THWACK!
They can feel the tree giving way beneath them; the trunk snapping. It tree begins to wobble.
MADDY
What are we gonna do?!
Freya
Just hold tight!
The tree sways to the side. The girls scream as it falls sideways towards the cliff edge!! The tree lands hard on the ground.
The tree is now lying horizontal on the ground. The top half of it, where Maddy and Freya are perched, is hanging over the edge of cliff!
Maddy falls from the branches!
Maddy
(screaming)
Freya!
Maddy’s hand shoots out in front of her, trying to grab hold of something. It finds the bear trap just in time. She grasps hold of it just as she falls away from the tree and down the cliff side!
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
The chain rattles as it unravels, with Maddy on the end of it plummeting through the air. The chain pulls taught and comes to halt.
Maddy screams out in pain as the jolt hurts her arms.
EXT. TREE - CONTINUOUS
Freya, clinging to the branches, looks over the edge to see Maddy swinging from the chain; 100ft between her and the jagged rocks below.
Freya
(screaming)
Oh my god! Maddy!
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
MADDY
(screaming)
Help!!
ext. tree - continuous
Freya hears something behind her. She turns to see the KILLERS making their way along the now horizontal tree trunk towards her!
They approach slowly, keeping their balance.
Freya
No!!
KILLER 1 comes towards her.
Freya starts to crawl downwards through the dense branches of the tree top.
KILLER 1 is close now. He slashes at her hands with the machete, but she lets go and. The blade misses. She lands hard on another branch below her, causing the tree to shake.
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy loses her grip. She screams as she falls 15ft to a ledge in the cliff side. She slips past it, but manages to grab the edge of it with her hands.
Freya
(screaming)
Maddy!
Maddy holds on tight. She tries to climb onto the ledge, but she can’t.
MADDY
(screaming)
I can’t hold on!
EXT. TREE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 1 looms above Freya, his face only half visible through the leaves that separate them. He slashes the machete through the branches. It forks past Freya’s face. He slashes at her again, this time making contact with her arm.
She screams as he slices a large cut in her skin. She loses her grip and falls again. She nearly falls out of the tree, but manages to grab onto another branch.
KILLER 1 starts to climb down through the dense web-like branches towards her; leaves falling from the tree as he goes.
Freya does the same, trying to get away from him.
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy is still clinging to the ledge, trying desperately not to let go!
MADDY
(screaming)
Oh my god! Freya help!
EXT. TREE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 starts to follow KILLER 1 down through the branches.
Freya reaches the last big branch. She can go no further. She looks down at the cliff edge and the long way down. She can see Maddy clinging to the ledge. She looks up to see KILLER 1 getting closer. She lies on the branch on her front, wrapping her arms and legs around it.
KILLER 1 pulls back the machete, ready to stab it into her back.
At that moment, Freya rolls sideways round the branch, avoiding the blade. It slams point down into the branch. Still hugging the branch, she now hanging over the drop below with her back to it. She looks up at KILLER 1.
He stares back at her.
KILLER 1 draws the machete back once more, ready to stab her. He grunts loudly as he lunges forward.
Freya unlocks her legs from the tree branch, and swings away from the blade, now handing from just her hands. The machete misses her.
KILLER 1 loses his balance. He bellows as he falls from the tree and down the cliff side. He shoots past Maddy on his way down. He plummets all the way to the bottom, landing hard on the jagged rocks.
He’s dead; his blood running down the rocks and forming pools in the crevices.
KILLER 2 looks at Freya and roars with anger.
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy is slipping from the ledge.
maddy
(screaming)
Freya!!
Freya looks down fearfully. She swings towards the cliff side and lets go of the branch; falls; screaming on the way down.
She hits the cliff face where it starts to level out to the ledge, landing hard. She skids and rolls down the curving cliff side, grazing her skin.
She comes to a halt on the ledge, landing face first. She lay there for a moment; not moving.
She begins to stir and raises her head off the ground; a bloody gash on now above her left eye.
maddy (cont’d) (O.S.)
(screaming)
Freya!!!!
Freya sees Maddy’s fingers gripping the ledge. They’re slipping. She scurries forward and grabs Maddy’s arm just before she fully loses her grip.
Maddy screams; her face wet; dripping with perspiration.
Freya strains from the weight. Gripping Maddy with both hands now, she pulls as hard as she can and manages to get her onto the ledge.
Maddy bursts into hysterical tears.
Freya holds her tightly.
Freya
Are you ok?!
MADDY
(crying, breathlessly)
I was so scared!
Freya
(soothingly)
You’re ok now.
maddy
(crying)
Is he dead?
Freya
(relieved)
Yeah. Yeah he’s dead.
Maddy
(sobbing)
And the other one?
Freya looks up.
EXT. TREE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 has gone. He’s no where to be seen.
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Freya
He’s gone.
Maddy
(sobbing)
Where?!
Freya
I don’t know. But we have to move. It’s not safe here.
Freya looks around. She notices that the cliff side has small ledges and holes in it. Not far away, the cliff face changes shape, curving outwards up to the trees.
Freya
We need to try and get over there. Maybe we can climb back up.
mADDY
(sobbing)
No. No I can’t.
Freya
Maddy please! The road is just over there. It’s not far now.
Maddy doesn’t respond.
Freya (cont’d)
(loudly)
Maddy!
Maddy
(weakly)
Ok. I’ll try.
Freya gets up and starts to edge her way along the cliff face, using small ledges, rocks and holes to step on and hold on to.
Freya
Come on.
Maddy follows reluctantly.
They move cautiously, slowly getting closer to the curving part of the cliff face.
Maddy slips and nearly falls. She stops for a moment to compose herself before carrying on.
Freya reaches a ledge. She looks up at the curving cliff face.
Freya
We can climb up there.
Freya helps Maddy onto the ledge.
Freya (CONT’D)
Ok. You ready?
Maddy nods. She starts to climb the cliff face. She looks up and screams.
Freya follows her line of vision.
KILLER 2 is standing at the cliff top, looking down on them.
Freya
(screaming)
No! Just leave us alone!
KILLER 2 stares at her.
Freya is losing it. She can’t take much more of this.
KILLER 2 begins to climb down the cliff side towards them.
Tears begin to well up in Freya’s eyes. They’re running out of options.
She looks down. At the bottom of the cliff, next to the rocks that were previously below them, is a lake.
Freya (cont’d)
Maddy…
Maddy
Oh god…
Freya
Maddy we have…
maddy
(cutting her off)
I know.
They look up at KILLER 2.
He’s closer now, climbing down to them at a rapid pace.
Freya
Ready?!
maddy
(nervously)
Yeah.
KILLER 2 nears them. He raises his axe.
Freya
Go!
They jump.
KILLER 2 swings his axe. It cuts nothing but the air. WHOOSH.
Maddy and Freya plummet down the cliff side.
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
They plunge into the lake below with a gigantic splash.
EXT. CLIFF SIDE - CONTINUOUS
KILLER 2 looks down at the lake, furious.
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
The water ripples and sways. Both Freya and Maddy are out of sight. There is a long silence.
Finally, Maddy bursts to the surface, followed by Freya. They cough and splutter, taking in deep breaths to fill their starved lungs.
They start to swim towards the shore.
A large splash in the water behind them makes them scream.

Shit!
Maddy
Go!
Maddy and Freya swim manically towards the shore.
Behind them, KILLER 2 bursts to the surface, spraying water outwards all around him. He starts to swim towards them.
Maddy is faster. She gets the shore before Freya.
Maddy
(calling)
Freya come on!
Freya swims as fast as she can; KILLER 2 catching up fast.
EXT. LAKE - UNDERWATER - CONTINUOUS
Freya’s legs kick wildly as she tries desperately to reach shore.
KILLER 2 grabs hold of her leg.
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
Freya screams before being pulled underneath the water.
EXT. LAKE SIDE - CONTINUOUS

(screaming)
Freya!
EXT. LAKE - UNDERWATER - CONTINUOUS
Freya struggles to get back up to the surface. She kicks her feet frantically. Eventually, she makes contact with KILLER 2’s face. Freya kicks again.
In pain, KILLER 2 loosens his grip.
Freya squirms away and reaches the surface.
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
She swims to the shore, but KILLER 2 is still after her, wading through the water.
MADDY (cont’d) (O.S.)
(screaming)
Hurry!
Freya reaches the shore, but KILLER 2 is right behind her.
He tackles her, causing her to fall in the shallow water. He climbs on top of her and tries to cut her with the axe, but she grips the handle trying to push it away from her.
EXT. LAKE SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Maddy picks up a small rock and runs into the shallow water.
EXT. LAKE - CONTINUOUS
She smashes the rock on the back of KILLER 2’s head.
KILLER 2 moans with pain and loosens his grip on the axe.
Freya pushes him off her while still gripping the axe. The blade slices his chest.
He roars in agony and falls on his back in the shallow water; the bloody axe still in his hands.
Maddy brings the rock down on his head again. And again.
KILLER 2 lies still in the water, blood seeping from his wounds.
Freya pulls her back, urging her to move. The run off into the trees.
EXT. WOODS - CONTINUOUS
Maddy
Do you think he’s dead?!
Freya
I don’t know but I’m not waiting around to find out.
They keep running.
FADE TO:
EXT. WOODS - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS
The sky is notably lighter now. Some time has passed.
Maddy and Freya trek wearily through the woods.
Maddy
I’m sure the road was this way.
Freya
We’ll find it.
maddy
I don’t think I ever thanked you for coming back you know.
Freya
I was no help to your friends.
maddy
Well you helped me. I’m pretty sure I’d be dead if it wasn’t for you.
Freya
We’ll make it worth it ok? We’ll get to the road and get out of here.
Maddy stops.
maddy
(smiling)
I think we’re out of here.
Freya follows Maddy’s gaze. In front of them, a tree covered slope heads down to the road!
Freya
(smiling)
Thank god!
Suddenly, KILLER 2 jumps out of the trees and grabs Freya from behind. She screams.
maddy
Freya!
Freya tries to get away from him. In the struggle, he lets go of Freya and drops his axe. It slides down the slope.
Freya falls too. She tumbles half way down the slope before hitting a tree. She screams out in pain.
KILLER 2 lunges at Maddy and pushes her down on the ground. He climbs on top of her and wraps his large hands around her neck.

(choking)
Help! Freya!
Freya is in too much pain to move. She’s sprawled on her back, powerless to help.
KILLER 2 grips Maddy’s next harder, choking the air out of her.
Maddy thumps his back with her fists, but it’s no use.
KILLER 2 squeezes harder; laughing manically through gritted teeth as he enjoys her suffering.
Maddy is powerless; her life slipping away. Then she remembers something.
She reaches under her top and pulls out the chain with the ring on it that Warren gave to her; still hooked around her neck.
With all the energy she has left, she jabs the ring into KILLER 2’s eye. She pushes in further with her thumb; blood pouring from his face onto hers.
KILLER 2 screams with pain and loosens his grip on Maddy’s neck.
Maddy inhales deeply, taking in as much air as possible. Her thumb penetrates deeper into his eye.
He wails in pure agony.
Maddy pushes him off her.
He hits the ground with a thud and rolls down the slope.
He rolls past Freya, clipping trees on his way down. None of them end his fall. As he reaches the bottom, he heads straight for a tree stump.
It is splintered; a large sharp piece of wood extends from it.
With speed, he hits the stump. The protruding splinter of wood stabs through his back and out through his stomach.
Maddy stares in shock while holds her neck.
KILLER 2 sits slumped against the tree stump; blood pouring from the wound.
Maddy stumbles over to Freya’s side and helps her to her feet.
Freya winces with pain, nearly falling over. Together, they make their way slowly down the slope.
Freya goes on ahead until she is only a few feet away from KILLER 2. She slumps against tree; weary and in pain.
Maddy stands slightly behind Freya. She stares at KILLER 2 and starts to sob.
KILLER 2 looks down at the sharp wood that has impaled his body. He moans from the pain. He slowly lifts his head and looks blankly at the girls.
Maddy’s tears intensify slightly.
Freya
(weakly)
Finish it.
Crying, Maddy stares at KILLER 2 angrily, breathing hard. She picks up the axe of the ground, and runs towards him screaming with rage.
She swings the axe forcefully at his neck and decapitates him.
Blood splatters over her clothes.
KILLER 2 is still; his headless body still impaled on the sharp wood.
Maddy just stands there, crying.
Freya closes her eyes and cries her own silent tears. It’s finally over.

As Maddy passes the tree stump, she slams the bloody axe into it.
They carry on walking over to the

Maddy and Freya walk onto the road and start heading down it side by side.
Freya
Well, I told we’d get out of there. We did it.
Maddy has the chain with the ring on it in the palm of her hand. Blood still remains on it. She closes her hand, holding the chain tightly.
Maddy
Yeah. We did.
Bruised and battered, they walk along the road into the distance as the sun begins to rise up from the horizon.
