|07:30-07:35 | |Welcome to SURVIVOR - Salvation Island! |

|Introduction |From Kidology: Back To School Object Lesson |Begin with the Apple. Talk about how apples are often given to teachers as a gift ( |

|O.L. 1 |Needed: apple, paper, pen, pencil, ruler, |God also gave a gift of fruit to the first man and woman - the fruit of the Tree of |

|(5) |scissors, tape, eraser, glue, markers, and a |Life. But there was another fruit that God said not to eat, from the Tree of the |

|07:35-07:40 |small crayon set. |Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate it – this was the |

| |This lesson serves as an opening point as well|first sin, and people have been sinning ever since. |

| |as a review of previous weeks. |Take a piece of Paper. You know when you take a test; the teacher puts a grade on |

| |Two weeks ago we talked about Salvation. |it. Well, if life were a test of how good we are, we all failed. Write an "F" on the|

| |Well kids school is about ready to start and |top with a Pencil, then write sins on the paper such as lying, stealing, cheating, |

| |some of you have been getting your school |hating, etc. (Ask the kids for suggestions) |

| |supplies. |Next, show the Ruler. A ruler is a standard that we measure things up against. No |

| | |one measures up to God’s standard - for it is perfection. We have all fallen short of|

| |Slide 2 – School Supplies |measuring up to what God expects. |

| | |Show the Scissors. Our sin has severed our relationship with God (cut paper in |

| | |half). But God loved us so much that He sent a Savior to repair our broken |

| | |relationship with God. |

| | |Show the Tape. Jesus came to repair the break (tape paper back together) Jesus can |

| | |restore our relationship to God back to what God designed it to be. And what about |

| | |our sins? |

| | |Show the Eraser. When we confess our sins, they are erased if we accept Jesus (erase|

| | |sins on paper) and then our name is written (show the Pen) in Book of Life up in |

| | |Heaven. Once you are a child of God, that can never be changed or taken away. |

| | |Show Glue. You can have assurance – God will ‘stick’ by us, through thick and thin |

| | |Show Markers. Your relationship with God is 'permanent.' |

| | |Ending: Show a Crayon set. Each color can be used just like the wordless book |

| | |BLACK: (sin); |

| | |BROWN: (Jesus came to earth); |

| | |RED: (Jesus' death); |

| | |WHITE: (clean and forgiven); |

| | |BLUE: (baptism); |

| | |GREEN: (growth); |

| | |PURPLE: (Jesus royalty); |

| | |YELLOW: (heaven); |

| | |ORANGE: Orange you glad you know Jesus?! |

|(optional) |From Kidology: Wedding Rings & Pictures |Show the kids some wedding pictures. Tell them that wedding are a very special time |

|O.L. 2 |Object Lesson |when you take marriage vows before the Lord and before family &friends. Show the kids|

|(5) |Tonight we are going to talk about one of |wedding rings. Ask them why someone wears a wedding ring? Take off your wedding |

|07:40-07:45 |these items ( Baptism |ring and ask the kids if I am still married. (Yes) Put on the wedding ring and ask |

| |Being baptized is like wearing a wedding ring.|them if I am still married. (Yes) Tell the kids that I am married whether I wear the |

| |It shows people who you belong to. |wedding ring or not. I wear the wedding ring so that people will know that I am |

| | |married. Being baptized is like wearing a wedding ring. It shows people who you |

| | |belong to. You can be a child of God without being baptized, just like I can be |

| | |married without wearing my wedding ring. But when I get baptized, it shows people |

| | |that I belong to Jesus. |

|Scripture Verse |CHALLENGE ( not sure if we have time for this?|Galatians 3:27 ( For as many as you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. |

|(10) |Alphabet puzzle |Separate ALPHABET CEREAL into bowls and have them complete the scripture verse as a |

|07:40-07:50 |Slide 3 |team. May want them to glue letters to index cards to make in easier (can also have |

| | |word written on card). |

|Lesson |Baptism |Slide 4 ( Turn in your Bible to Matthew 3 |

|(10) | | |

|07:50-08:00 | |Slide 5 ( John the Baptist spent most of his life in the wilderness |

| | | |

| | |Slide 6 ( John preached about the Messiah (Jesus) that would come. He didn’t know |

| | |whether Jesus would in days, weeks or years. But every day, He faithfully preached |

| | |about Jesus and baptized people. |

| | | |

| | |Slide 7 ( He was an arrow that pointed people to Jesus. |

| | | |

| | |Slide 8 ( One day Jesus approached John to be baptized by him (read verse 13). |

| | | |

| | |Slide 9 ( Edging his way through the crowd, Jesus slipped off his sandals and eased |

| | |into the mucky water to be baptized. |

| | | |

| | |Slide 10 ( Can you imagine John’s surprise - Jesus, the son of God, wanting to be |

| | |baptized by me (read verse 14)? Jesus knew how important it was to be baptized and |

| | |he told John to just do it (read verse 15)! So John baptized his Savior. |

| | | |

| | |Slide 11 ( First, He was baptized by immersion. This means that was put under the |

| | |water. The original word baptismo means to be immersed (put under) water. Second, |

| | |He was not alone. There was a dove from heaven who was the Holy Spirit (read Luke |

| | |3:21-22). There was the voice of God (read Luke 3:22). |

| | | |

| | |Slide 12 ( So what does this mean to me? Jesus was baptized to be an example to us. |

| | |We should be baptized to show others that we belong to Jesus. We are not baptized to|

| | |get to heaven, God says there is nothing we can do to earn our way there. |

| | | |

| | |Slide 13 ( Jesus is the only way to heaven. |

| | | |

|Review |REVIEW: Slide 14 ( ? |This is a great way to review the lessons you have been teaching or any other Bible |

|(5) | |facts. Assign the letters A,B,C, and D to each corner of the room. Each corner will |

|08:05-08:10 |4 Corner Review? |be the answer to a multiple choice question. Have the kids get in the middle of the |

| | |room and ask them a question. |

| | |EXAMPLE- How many books are there in the bible? |

| | |A. 66 |

| |If we are short on time we can skip the review|B. 22 |

| |and go straight to the games. If extra time |C. 27 |

| |is available at the end we can do the review |D. 39 |

| |game. |Say, "go" and have the kids run to the corner they think is the correct answer. Then |

| | |ask them "Is that your final answer?" and give them a few seconds to change their |

| | |mind. It's a fun way to review and all kids get to participate. Peer pressure may |

| | |influence the kids if one kid on the correct answer and 20 on the wrong answer, and |

| | |when you give them a chance to change, sometimes that kid will go to the wrong answer|

| | |because that is where everyone else is or he/she will stay even though you can tell |

| | |they are doubting themselves. You can talk about peer pressure at the end. |

|VOTE |Tribal Council Video Vote |Have all the kids vote for one of the videos on the list to watch next week. If more|

|(5) | |than one is selected the ballot will not be counted. |

|08:10-08:15 |Slide ?? | |

|Dismiss |TONIGHT WE ARE GOING OUTSIDE FOR WATER GAMES. |

|(0) |I hope everyone is ready to get wet and brought some towels to dry off. We will dismiss through the KidZone exit doors and please be|

|08:15-08:15 |careful as we go out. |

|Game 1 |Shower Relay |Form (4) teams, and give each team a rain poncho, shower cap (or swim mask), flippers|

|(15) | |and rubber ducky. The first person in each team puts on the poncho, mask and |

|08:15-08:30 | |flippers, grabs the rubber ducky, and runs to the other end where they take a shower |

| | |by getting a flower pot (with holes) and holds it over them until empty. Then the |

| | |child runs back to his team takes off the poncho and shower cap, and passes the items|

| | |and the rubber ducky to the next person, who repeats the process. Continue until |

| | |everyone has had a turn. |

|Game 2 |Ping Pong Water Relay |Works like a gambit run. One team takes their place at start with a ping pong ball on|

|(15) | |a spoon. The other team player line up along the side with squirt guns and try to |

|08:30-08:45 | |shoot the ping pong balls off. If the ball is shot off or falls off that player must|

| | |start over, the team with the most amount of balls at the end wins. |

|Game 3 |Leaky Cup Relay |Pound four to six nail holes in the bottom of several plastic buckets or cups so they|

|(15) | |leak (could also use small plastic flower pots with holes in them). Form relay teams,|

|08:45-09:00 | |and have the first child on each team run to the hose (or large pool), fill up her |

| | |leaky bucket, run back to her team, and dump the water into a non-leaky container. |

| | |Play until one team’s container is filled. Can also put a balloon or ping pong ball |

| | |in team's container to see who gets it out first |

|Game 4 |Sponge Relay |Teams form line about hand distance apart. The first player has a tub of water and |

|(15) | |sponge in front of them. The last player has an empty bucket (ping pong ball or |

|09:00-09:15 | |balloon optional) behind him. Team must dip the sponge into the water and pass the |

| | |sponge over their head to the next one in line. The last person in line squeezes the |

| | |sponge into the bucket then runs to the front of the line to start over. Be sure |

| | |everyone moves back so they can pass the sponge to the next player. Game continues |

| | |until bucket is full (or ball/balloon rise above the top of the bucket). |

|Extra Game |Water Balloon Toss |Self explanatory. |
