Technology Management (TM) is the field concerned with the supervision of personnel across the technical spectrum and a wide variety of complex technological systems. TM courses include instruction in production and operations management, project management, computer applications, quality management, safety and health issues, statistics, and general management principles. This includes: Bachelor of Science (BS) in TM, Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Technology, or Minor in TM. We also offer certificates in: Six Sigma Green Belt, Advanced Manufacturing, and Leadership. Students who are majoring in Integrated Studies can select TM as one of their two concentration areas as well. DEGREES OFFEREDFour-year Bachelor of Science in Technology ManagementThe Bachelor of Science in Technology Management has curriculum designed to prepare students who want to develop skills which will enable them to successfully: Manage complex technical projects; manage people within an technical environment; prepare to succeed in an ever changing environment which is reliant on technology; be on the forefront of innovation and the future of work. Employers are regularly seeking technically savvy individuals who can speak clearly about technical innovations while having the skill set to manage a wide variety of individuals. The BS in TM will prepare this much needed workforce for successUp to 45 technical credits may be transferable from an Associate of Applied Science (AAS), Associate of Science (AS), or individual courses from?a regionally accredited institution of higher education?in an approved technical area?as agreed upon by the Technology Management advisor and department chair.There are 28 credits required for our core courses and you have the freedom to build your 15 elective credits, for a total of 43 credits. Two-year Associate of Applied Science in TechnologyThe Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technology has been designed for individuals working in a technical area who have considerable work experience and/or have obtained specialized certifications, licenses, apprenticeships, etc. Many of these students will be looking for a degree to allow them better upward mobility in their jobs or careers.An articulation agreement with Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) allows MTECH students who earn certifications in many 900+ hour technical programs to receive 30 hours of academic credit in the AAS Technology degree – almost half the needed credits to graduate! Advanced Manufacturing, Certificate of?ProficiencyThe Certificate of Proficiency in Advanced Manufacturing is designed to provide entry-level manufacturing technician skills that are needed in expanding the manufacturing industry in Utah Valley. Graduates of this certificate will have a basic understanding of advanced manufacturing operations with an emphasis on solving problems in the organization.STACKABLE DEGREES: TWO PLUS TWOWith a stackable degree (two plus two), once you finish a two-year program, the Technology Management department will use those credits towards a bachelor’s degree, often giving you only two more years to complete. For example, if you already have an Associate of Science (AS) and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree you will only need 43 credits to finish the BS in TM. If you already have an Associate of Science (AS) degree, most of your general education classes should be met, however, our program does require you take STATS 1040-Introduction to Statistics.Don’t have an AAS or AS?
