We currently have an exciting opening for a Senior Chemist at our Fort Wright, Kentucky manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in the development of new resins. The incumbent has responsibility for projects, which lead to product qualification by the customer. Work performed involved knowledge of the customers’ materials evaluation and resin processing techniques.

Major Responsibilities:

• Perform all required activities in a manner deemed to be safe and with minimal risk to self and co-workers.

• Participate in laboratory work activities involving new materials evaluation, new product development, new applications for existing products, and matching of competitive products.

• Coordinate with, make recommendations to, and seek the direction of the Group Leader in the areas of product and services development.

• Participate in production quality control, directly as well as through the Quality Assurance Group, implementing the quality control design functions coincident with product development.

• Provide technical advice, service, or assistance, and make product recommendations to sales personnel or to customers when requested.

• Respond properly and quickly to inquiries, either directly to the customer, to sales, or to the supervisor, regarding technical problems or matters.

• Make appropriate recommendations to the Group Leader or other management personnel when appropriate and relevant to company goods and services.

• Maintain laboratory facilities in neat and orderly condition to permit maximum employee efficiency and productivity.

• Maintain state-of-the-art equipment for various applications.

• Keep currently informed of new products, ingredients, techniques, developments, etc., within the composites industry through technical literature, attendance at technical and professional meetings or seminars or contact with customers, suppliers, etc.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Required:

• Possess a BS/BA Degree in Science or Engineering; an advanced degree is desired.

• Possess a proven track record of excellence in polyester resin chemistry or related field, familiarity with cast polymer technology is preferred.

• Above average written and oral communication skills.

• Relate well to all levels of personnel.

• Project an image of a seasoned professional.

• Ability to travel to customers as required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Must be able to pass a Respirator Test.
