1.The computer lab of a local college needs a one-page document that it will distribute to its incoming students to increase their security awareness. After reading the information presented in this chapter and other sources, prepare the document, which should include a 10-item bullet list of the things that students must remember to reduce the risks of using information technology.Make sure to always back up your computer every few months on a hard drive or another device. Install software that is able to protect your computer from everyday viruses Never leave your computer unattended for the chance that people will take information on it. Always stay current with latest in operating systems. Be careful when you are using unsecure connections, hackers can have access to your computer. Use remote connectivity and secure file transfer options. Make sure you remove sensitive files or protect them Setup your computer for antivirus software and operating system updatesCreate a strong password with a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters and make sure to use different passwords for each account.Do not click on spam emails and be aware of attachments or other links that could put a virus on your computer. Use a desktop firewall as part of operating system from sensitive files from being scanned.4.After reading the information presented in this chapter and other sources, write a one-page paper that lists three antivirus software applications; include one advantage and one disadvantage of each. Which one do you recommend for the student lab mentioned in Project 1? What are the bases for your recommendation? Is antivirus software alone sufficient to protect the security of a network? Why and why not?Three different antivirus software applications that are used commonly are Norton Antivirus, AVG Antivirus, and McAfee Antivirus Plus. An advantage to Norton Antivirus is that it actively protects you from viruses, identity theft and social media dangers, gives excellent support. A disadvantage is it does not have an antivirus feature. An advantage to AVG Antivirus is easy to use and effective but a disadvantage is that it takes a long time to finish scanning. Lastly, for McAfee Antivirus its advantage is it provides extra features like Firewall, Data Shredder, Malicious Ad Protecting, PC tune-up. But its disadvantage is that there is no bootable rescue CD mode. I would recommend the Norton Antivirus software application for the student in project one. I recommend this one because it is a top rated and keeps you from antivirus and other threats. It also keeps you safe when you are online. I do not think antivirus is enough because there are too many viruses to defend against. Also, more and more people are having more private information stored on their computer. Students are safer having more security on their computer than not in the long run. ................
