ACSW Holiday Events
Spring is in the air! December and all its celebrations seem so long ago. The winter holidays present an opportunity for us to take time to break from our hectic schedules. ACSW is proud to sponsor events throughout the province to network with our fellow social workers and to celebrate the season together.
In Edmonton, social workers and their families, attended our annual holiday social. Distinguished guests, Minister Lori Sigurdson, MSW, RSW and Minister Richard Feehan, shared holiday greetings and highlights of their work in government. The kids' craft corner was busy the entire time. Santa and the energetic elf were a big hit!
Shay Murrell, Evera, and Lynn King
At the Calgary holiday social, attendees enjoyed appetizers and drinks at the Wild Rose Brewery. The event featured Fake Mustache ? the largest drag king and burlesque troupe in Canada.

AROUND OUR PROVINCE
In Cold Lake there were 20 social workers who attended their annual social. Activities included nibbling on snacks, drinking wine, door prizes, and a self-care themed gift exchange. Thanks to the area coordinators for organizing the social and to Portage College for their support.
Bow Valley area coordinators hosted a "Soup and Sweets" get-together. The brand new area coordinators introduced themselves and took the opportunity to meet local social workers. There was a lively conversation about networking, social, and learning opportunities that would benefit social workers in the area of Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise, Harvie Heights, and Morley.
Social workers in Fort McMurray
Social workers in Fort McMurray celebrated with a breakfast buffet that included fun games and prizes.
