COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Bell Environmental, founded in 1963 by its still current owner, is an integrated pest management company leading the industry in providing pest control services by utilizing innovative technology and environmentally safe methods instead of dangerous pesticides to eliminate infestations of insects, rodents, and pest birds at clients' facilities in the northeastern United States.

BELL ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES KEEPS ROOMS OPEN!

NON-TOXIC INSTANTFREEZE SAFELY ELIMINATES BED BUGS WITHOUT SHUTTING DOWN PATIENT AREAS AND OFFICES

Bell Environmental is a full service pest control company specializing in Bed Bug Control in Hospitals, Health Care Facilities, and Corporate Environments. Bell Environmental’s Bed Bug solution is a pesticide-free method that keeps patient rooms, clinical areas and offices open for service with minimal interruption. We will work with each client to eliminate issues during all hours of the day and night as they arise in a manner that keeps rooms and offices open and available for service and billing.

CHEMICAL-FREE BED BUG SERVICES

Bell Environmental Services performs Bed Bug control services in hospitals, healthcare facilities and offices using a unique, non-toxic, non-chemical method of rapidly freezing and thereby eliminating Bed Bugs in all stages and their eggs upon contact. InstantFreezeTM accomplishes its freezing action by transforming liquid carbon dioxide into a snow in a process similar to creating dry ice.

BELL ENVIRONMENTAL KEEPS YOUR ROOMS OPEN

Because InstantFreeze is non-toxic and non-chemical, it is perfect for sensitive hospital environments. In addition, it is completely residue free and can be safely used on computers, electronics and medical equipment – places that have been known to harbor bed bugs. Most importantly, rooms can be immediately reoccupied after treatments are completed, which makes InstantFreeze ideal for use in busy emergency rooms and on patient floors where downtime is not an option.

Bell Environmental provides 24/7/365 Emergency Service to Hospital and Health Care Facilities within a 50 mile radius of a Bell Environmental office. This Emergency Service ensures a 2-4 hour response time to your bed bug complaint* so your hospital does not have to shut down rooms, and patients/staff can immediately re-occupy post treatment, saving thousands of dollars for the hospital per incident. Our Bed Bug treatments do not compromise patient care or health, and do not force the hospital to clean up any chemicals. (* 24/7/365, 2-4 hour Emergency Response time applies only to InstantFreeze, Bed Bug Control Treatments, and not to Canine Inspections. Hospitals that are geographically eligible for Emergency Response Service will be given an Emergency Dispatch Toll Free phone number to be used during all hours, whenever bed bugs services are requested.)

In Corporate Environments, Bell Environmental has inspection and treatment teams that can discreetly work around the clock during off hours, without disruption to business, and keeping employee concern to a minimum.

When possible, Bell Environmental recommends a minimum 2-phase treatment program consisting of an initial and a follow up detailed, crack and crevice treatment. During these treatments everything in the room is serviced. The follow up service is conducted approximately two to three weeks after the initial treatment.

WHY WE RECOMMEND TWO TREATMENTS PER INCIDENT

The reason why Bell Environmental recommends a hospital should follow a 2-phase protocol, approximately 2-3 weeks apart, is because of the biology of the Bed Bug. Female Bed Bugs can lay up to 5 eggs per day that are the size of poppy seeds or specks of dust. These eggs hatch after 6-14 days. Bed Bugs hide very well and occupy the smallest of cracks and crevices. It is possible that a single thorough treatment may not reach well-hidden Bed Bugs and eggs. In our, the pest control industry’s, and the NYC Department of Health’s experiences, it is rare that Bed Bug infestations are eliminated in a single visit. The correct approach is for there to be at least two treatments of affected areas.

We recommend that your facility schedule and perform two treatments per incident whenever possible, based upon your facility’s availability. Sometimes in a busy hospital areas such as EDs, ICUs or patient rooms it is impossible to coordinate the follow up treatment. There may simply be neither a vacancy nor place to move the patient while the treatment is in process. Those busy and difficult circumstances are why a scheduled follow up would not take place.

In these cases, a facility will call us to treat when the room or area does become available, though the ideal time for the follow up treatment is 2-3 weeks after the initial service. In other cases a facility may choose to not schedule follow up service at all.

WHAT DO WE DO FOR YOUR HOSPITAL, FACILITY OR OFFICE?

• Bed Bugs live in cracks and crevices and are immune to most pesticides.

• Bed Bugs need to be killed on contact.

• We use a frozen carbon dioxide method (InstantFreeze) to treat every inch of the room that the Bed Bugs can occupy.

• InstantFreeze is safe to use on every surface of the room.

• We can use InstantFreeze to treat the medical equipment, computers and electronics.

• There is no residual for you to clean up.

• The time to treat a patient room takes about 1 hour.

• Move the patient out in the hall and let us get to work.

• Staff and patients can immediately reoccupy the room after treatment.

Inspections for Bed Bug Infestations:

Bell Environmental Services uses canines specifically trained by Certified Master Trainer, Bill Whitstine at the Florida Canine Academy to sniff out live bed bugs and bed bug eggs to accurately pin point their location.

As important as the dog's training is that of the handlers. Bell Environmental's handlers have also undergone Mr. Whitstine's rigorous training and are dedicated to delivering the daily maintenance and care required to keep their canines healthy and sharp.

This unique service of conducting an inspection can prove cost effective by locating bed bugs before they become overwhelming infestations, potentially reducing the total treatment area.

Treatment for Bed Bug Infestations:

Bed bugs have become an epidemic throughout many metropolitan areas. Although the name bed bug makes us think the insects are found only in our bedrooms, this is not the case. Bed bugs are appearing in commercial and office environments, employee locker rooms, healthcare facilities, and other public spaces.

When bed bugs infest one's home, and treatment has not been successful in controlling the infestation, these bugs can be brought into public by their host via a purse, back pack, luggage or clothing. The bugs can then fall off or decide to take a walk and wind up anywhere.

In commercial environments bed bugs are being found, in upholstered furniture, wall voids, cubicle dividers and quite frequently in computers. Electronics generate heat which often attracts bedbugs; however, these items cannot be treated with conventional liquid and/or powdered pesticides for risk of damaging this equipment. Not being able to treat these critical areas greatly compromises the thoroughness and effectiveness of many bed bug control programs.

Bell Environmental's comprehensive approach to bed bug control is structured around [pic]technology. This ensures that everything in the treatment area can be treated, including computers and electronics! [pic]eliminates all stages of bed bugs by rapidly freezing these insects on contact using a dry-ice type snow.

Because this "snow" is created from a gas, cryogenic carbon dioxide, it is completely residue free, leaving absolutely no liquid or moisture behind. It can be safely used to treat computers, keyboards, electronics, medical equipment, fine furnishings, musical instruments and art work without any risk. In addition, it is completely non-toxic, chemical free and greatly reduces the time required for treatment.

[pic]is the newest technology for getting rid of bed bugs without the use of harsh pesticides or chemicals. [pic]kills bedbugs (including their eggs and larvae) and other insects by freezing them with carbon dioxide "dry ice" snow. The carbon dioxide snow penetrates deep into cracks and crevices, outlets and other hard to reach areas.

Incredibly powerful Green technology that is chemical free, non toxic, and safe!

Prices for treatment of bed bug infestations wary by the type of area to be treated. Price categories are defined as follows:

➢ Bed Bug Inspection Services

➢ Treatment for Hospital and Health Care Facilities

➢ Treatment for Corporate Office Facilities

➢ Treatment for Residential Facilities

➢ Bedding Protection

Bird Control

BellStrip™

Our Patented BellStrip uses principles of behavior modification to teach birds that their former roosting spots are no longer appropriate. US Patent #6,933,446 was issued to Bell Bird Control for a new design that eliminates the inefficiencies of all previously available electrical deterrent systems.

BellStrip™ is a low profile and inconspicuous system designed to eliminate all the inefficiencies of other products available. Solar powered BellStrip™ is a high voltage - low amperage bird deterrent system that uses a powerful yet harmless intermittent shock to train pest birds to stay away from a protected area.

The Most Effective Bird Deterrent Available!

BellStrip™ carries higher voltages over longer distances than any other system. A patented combination of highly conductive copper wiring with stainless steel allows BellStrip™ to operate at 2 times the voltage of other systems preventing shut downs from bird droppings landing on the track from above.

Installation

Specially designed hardware and mounting methods are available for every type of building material. Rather than relying solely on use of adhesives, BellStrip™ is mechanically mounted for longer lasting installations.

BellStrip™ is designed to be conducive to work being done. All systems have shut off switches for safety and the flat design means it can be walked on by window washers without being damaged. BellStrip™ does not impede the use of swing stage scaffolding or rigging equipment over a parapet.

Powering Options

Various sized SOLAR powered energizers with a two week battery backup are standard. Traditional 110v plug-in units can be used for insufficient sunlight applications. BellStrip’s superior conductivity means fewer power units are necessary on each system allowing more cost effective installations.

Pricing

Prices vary according to application surfaces, accessibility, and local environmental considerations. Please contact our Bird Specialists for price quotations.

ExcludeNet™

Bell Bird Control's ExcludeNet™ is a specifically designed bird exclusion netting that when properly installed prevents birds from penetrating selected spaces, keeping them from roosting and nesting.

Manufactured from UV protected polyethylene and installed using stainless and galvanized steel hardware, ExcludeNet™ installations will stand up to the elements with minimum maintenance.

Available in different mesh sizes to protect against different species, ExcludeNet™ is also available in colors that blend in when installed to make installations virtually invisible.

Estimating Categories-From Above

There are three categories of costs customarily involved in installation of Bell Environmental’s bird control system or remediation of bird waste or pollution. The estimating factors provided here and elsewhere in this proposal consist of the estimating factors used by Bell for estimating the total cost of each job. Bell does not sell any of the parts listed in this proposal as end items. Bell only sells bird abatement services, which include the use of the listed items. The categories used to estimate bird control jobs are labor, other direct costs and access costs.

1. Labor/Person Day includes the physical labor required to perform the installation or the consulting time needed to analyze and design the installation. This labor is provided by Bell’s expert engineering, installation and abatement teams; the heart of Bell’s ability to satisfy its customers. The personnel used for these projects are all trained professionals, expert in bird control abatement and remediation. This labor constitutes an average of 57% to total estimated project costs.

2. Materials estimates the supplies and equipment used that will become part of the installation. Some of these costs include Bell Environmental patented products. Others are for materials customized for Bell’s use on bird control projects. Other Direct Costs constitute 33% of average estimated project costs.

3. Access costs are the cost of providing the equipment, disposal charges, bonding costs and other costs to enable performance of bird prevention or abatement services. No one job is like any other. Each has its unique aspects, from bonding expense to disposal of bird waste. These costs average 11% of project costs estimated.
