Since you are creating your own business do not use a franchise for you project. Each page will be graded for all details to be included. You may use drawings, pictures, and computer programs to enhance the material. Put presentation in order of instructions. The cover of your folder should look like the front of your business or somehow represent your business. Remember, this is the first image someone has of your business, so design, color, landscape, window dressing, etc. is important. BRANDING: Use your own trademark/logo here to identify your business. TYPE YOUR NAME IN SMALL LETTERS ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF THE SLIDEPAGE 2: Ownership(What documentation is needed for this type of ownership & advantages/disadvantages of each)*PROVIDE A HYPERLINK TO THE APPROPRIATE FORM(s) NEEDED FOR THIS TYPE OF OWNERSHIP (Most forms can be found online in a PDF format). This is a description of your business ownership. The page should be titled with the type of ownership you will be operating under and whether it is a service or product related business. Description must be in complete sentences and words spelled correctly. Depending on the kind of ownership you choose be sure to include all the information that is requested. CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:1) Sole Ownership – Why did you choose to be a sole owner? Why did you choose this kind of business? (interest, talent, hobby, following in relative footsteps, etc.) What would be the advantages and disadvantages of this type of ownership?2) Partnership – Why did you choose this kind of ownership? Describe why you chose this kind of business? (interest, talent, hobby, following relative footsteps, etc.) How many partners do you have and what is each bringing into the business that will be beneficial? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this type of ownership?3) Corporation—Explain why you chose to be involved in a corporation and why you chose the kind of business you did. Who are your directors? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this type of ownership?PAGE 3: LOCATIONDraw a map of the area where you will locate your business. It may be fictional or you may pull an existing business from a spot and put yours in. The map should include a key for major land marks, major streets, schools, residential areas, business districts, etc. Include cross streets, city and state.PAGE 4: PRODUCT or SERVICE DescriptionTitle this page “Product Description” or “Service Description.” Then describe the products you are selling or services you are offering. Include pictures and details of what you are sellingPAGE 5: FLOOR PLANDraw the floor plan of your business and indicate areas for storage, office, displays, service department, and any other areas applicable to your special situation.PAGE 6: STAFFING Title this page “Employees.” How many employees will you hire? What will their specific job descriptions be? What kind of employee characteristics of qualifications will you look for? Write a want ad for one of the positions. Use newspaper want ads for help in setting up the information you want published.PAGE 7: SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYExplain your business’ social responsibility to your customers and your community. Select a project your business will participate in to help the community. Describe how you will support the project.PAGE 8: COSTSDevelop a projected start up cost budget for your first year. Include building, land, equipment, supplies, furniture, staff, and any other expense that you need to start up the business.PAGE 9: MARKETING DETAILSWho is your target audience? Include age groups, demographic groups, and identifying characteristics that will help you be successful in selling your product to that particular customer. What type of customer will buy your product and why?What type of image do you want to convey and how will you carry this out in your fixtures, color schemes, designs, and added extras?PAGE 10: ADVERTISING PLANDevelop an advertising plan and slogan for your company.
