Rhonda KouterickPrayer (unison) Holy God, in this quiet moment, we rest in your gracious love. All our frantic busyness, all the list-making and cookie baking, we place on your altar. Sift through our worry & help us see what is necessary. Remind us of your invitation to leave our burdens at your feet; you forgive our sins, heal our wounds, and dry our tears. Help us grow and mature in this waiting time. Help us be alert to your Holy Spirit in this Advent season, ready to see you in the midst of ordinary tasks, ready to slow down for prayer, for family and friends. Help us to stand up for peace and justice, and to live your good news of love. In Jesus name. Galatians 6:2 TEV. Make their day better by feeling your love.Heavenly and Almighty God, who has all power & might to heal & protect. I pray today for the health & safety of all those on the frontlines of our fight against COVID-19. I pray for the doctors, nurses, & medical staff caring for the sick. Lord, protect them from exposure to this virus & keep them safe. Give them the strength to carry on each day, comforting their tired & weary hearts. Lord, I pray also for the first responders – police, firefighters, & paramedics – who keep us safe & continue to work in our communities. Keep them safe from the virus, so they can continue to serve & protect our cities. Lord, I also pray for the essential workers who didn’t expect to be on the front lines.Protect our grocery workers, store clerks, truck drivers, those who produce our essential goods, & all others serving our communities. Lord, support & encourage them, & keep them protected from this virus.Lord, thank you, you are with us every step of the way.
