This handbook contains guidance on environmental considerations for Air Force civil engineer personnel, including Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve personnel deployed in support of contingency operations in foreign countries. It outlines strategies that may be used to alleviate negative impacts on the mission as a result of health hazards, loss of assets, or political conflict resulting from environmental neglect. These practices can help to avoid or minimize adverse impacts to human health and the environment once contingency operations stabilize. Note: Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with AFMAN 37-123 (will convert to AFMAN 33-363), Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located at .

SUMMARY OF CHANGES: This publication has been substantially revised and must be completely reviewed. All references to military operations within the U.S. have been removed. Appendixes A-H have been eliminated.
