SIMPLY SAID IT IS A QUALITY INSURANCE PROGRAM!

OBJECTIVE: To ensure the quality and integrity of Lorinda’s Salon• Spa• Store by having staff members perform only those services they have been certified in. To accelerate the growth progress of each service provider so that they build a clientele faster and easier

WHY? - An in-salon skill certification is an insurance process, which creates consistent technical service quality. Achieving this not only trains and indoctrinates new staff members, but it also monitors and updates the skill and service of long-standing staff. In-house skill certification systems increase the speed at which a new service provider builds their client base as well.

WHAT IT IS? – A skill certification program is a formalized and organized approach to assessing skills and abilities in a variety of essential technical and customer service areas.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR GUESTS –

When we invite a guest into our home for the first time, we offer a tour and a beverage and encourage them to make themselves at home. We are familiarizing and welcoming them to our environment. It’s the same at Lorinda’s Salon• Spa •Store; we want to promote the “Welcome to our living room.” attitude.

If a service provider knows what to say and how to interact with each guest, you have created a consistent program with set procedures. The technical side of skill certification is not the entire building it is the foundation upon which all else is built. There are no boundaries as to how high you can go or how far as long as respect is paid to your foundation, you have the support. The guest knows the consultation will happen, what will be discussed and when they will have the opportunity to ask question or request advice. The guest will also learn the layout of the salon and how the services will be performed.

Intern Job Description

The purpose of the internship program is to prepare the graduate for a career in hairdressing through a training program that encompasses all phases of salon work. The candidate will be introduced to salon work through hands on expierence in training classes, and on the job training, during working hours with the mentor stylist. The internship program is a 6-9 month course. The intern is able to work under minimum supervision upon completion of the course.

Interns will receive an advanced training certificate at the end of the program.

It is important to note that this phase of the education is meant to train through guest expierence, the importance of team effort and to develop people skills which is so important to a career in cosmetology.

• To be a second pair of hands for the person you assist

• To put guest care first in all phases of their needs

• To do all tasks as directed by mentor
