Flexible Spending

Flexible Spending is a special account that allows you to set aside money that can be used to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical and healthcare expenses. You do not pay taxes on this money. This means you will save an amount equal to the taxes you would have paid on the money set aside. There are two types of accounts; Un-reimbursed medical applies to out of pocket medical expenses, like co-pays and deductibles, not covered by your major medical plan. You can put aside up to $2750 per plan year. You can rollover $500 from one year to the next if you do not use all the funds. There is also a Dependent Day Care option, which allows you to set aside up to $5000 annually to cover day care expenses.

Your Flexible Spending elections MUST be renewed every year, even if you elect the same dollar amount. The form is included with this package. Please contact an Aflac agent to discuss the specifics of this program as it applies to your situation. All Flexible Spending enrollment forms must be returned to Aflac agent, Dan Crawley, via email, fax, or regular mail by June 15.

Aflac Voluntary Benefits

Every year during the open enrollment period, employees have the opportunity to add, change, or cancel their Aflac programs. These changes take effect on July 1. If you are a current Aflac policyholder and you do not make any changes, your policy will automatically rollover and renew for the following year. You must contact an agent if you wish to add new policies, make changes, or cancel a policy. Changes for the year can be made only during the open enrollment period. You can provide cash benefits for your family in the event of illness, injury, disability or even plan for maternity.

You can discuss your existing policies, Flexible Spending, get a quote, add policies, or cancel your policy by calling 1-855-404-5758 from 3 PM to 6 PM, to speak to an Aflac agent, until Friday June 8.
