MEDIA RELEASEWednesday, 17 July 2019To: All MediaThe heritage international accolade from Serbia arrives for Mancotywa in Mthatha In January this year, the Serbia Africa Investment Forum (SAIF) international select committee for the RAZVOJ Accolade has unanimously elected Adv. Sonwabile Mancotywa as the recipient of their 2019 Leadership Award. The award will be handed over to Mancotywa at his home in Ross Mission on 20 July 2019 from 12h00 at reception ceremony for him to celebrate with his community and acquaintances.A representative of the SAIF from Serbia, Mr Markovi? Isajlo, will hand over the award at the ceremony.Dignitaries who are expected to attend the award reception ceremony will be the Premier of the Eastern Cape Province, Mr Oscar Mabuyane, the National Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC) Mr Gwede Mantashe and many others.According to the SAIF committee, Mancotywa is acknowledged for “playing an outstanding contribution in the arts, culture and heritage fraternity and the leadership role that he provided in Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and South America”. Mancotywa has been active in the culture and heritage sector at a time when this discipline was regarded as insignificant. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) who served it since its inception. He managed to steer the organisation to be the leading government agency voice on culture and heritage policy, advices to leaders and other continental institutions as well as global organisations.
