PE
We will be learning how to make different gymnastic shapes and linking them together on the gymnastic apparatus. We shall also be taught how to put the gymnastic apparatus out and away!

Music
We will be learning to play the recorder and listening to a variety of music. We will be learning a special song for the Easter assembly.
History/Geography
We shall be learning about the continent of Africa and the countries within Africa. We will be comparing Africa to Knypersley. In history we will be learning about famous African people from the past, such as Nelson Mandela.
Computing
We shall be writing our own algorithms and debugging them as well as using Colour Magic, RM Graph and of course being SMART!
Art/Design
We will be designing and making our own African masks and shields.
We shall be looking at Edward Tinga Tinga’s Art and looking at animal patterns.
English
We shall be reading the “Tinga Tinga Tales” and Meerkat Mail . We shall be creating our own Tinga Tinga Tales and writing our own postcards to be included in our own version of “Merkat Mail.” We shall also be learning how to read and spell the Y2 common exception words.
Cross- curricular writing
We shall be writing non-fiction information pages on Africa, wild animals,, habitats and much, much more!
Maths
We will be using the make it, draw it and write it approach (CPA) in our maths work. We shall be learning all about division and fractions.
Cross curricular
We shall be learning about statistics through our topic work; measuring, comparing, analysing and completing graphs.
RE/PSHRE
We will be discussing what a democracy is and learning about apartheid. We shall also be discussing whether animals should be kept in captivity. In RE we will be learning about ‘Belonging to a group’ and what this means and entails.
Science
We will be learning about different habitats and micro habitats. We will also be learning about animals and what they need to survive.
