Maedean Gadson was born on June 17, 1943 in Winnsboro, South Carolina to the late James Allen, Sr. and Mary (Rabb) Gadson. Maedean was the middle child of nine children. Maedean gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC

After high school, Maedean moved to Hartford, CT where she resided for the majority of her adult years. After retiring from working at an insurance company, she settled back in Winnsboro, SC.

She was a caring person who loved all people, especially children. Her family was most important to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Dwight (Michelle) Gadson of Fort Mitchell, AL; three brothers, James Allen Gadson, Jr. of Hartford, CT, Riley Gadson of Winnsboro, SC and Ray Charles (Elaine) Gadson of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Phibidean Covington of Winnsboro, SC, Lyditha White of Hartford, CT, Terri Verteel (Gershone) Yelin of Durham, NC; two grandchildren, Ashley T.A. Gadson-Jones and D'Andre T. Gadson of Watertown, NY; one great-grandson, Davion Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Maedean was preceded in death by her sisters Alvetta Gadson and Mildred Martin, one sister-in-law, Betty Gadson and one brotherin-law, Morris Martin, Sr.
