Different cultures divide the lifespan in different ways, and give different meanings to those categories.
* What are the life stages we recognize?

* What are some of the negative and positive stereotypes we associate with each life stage?
- What sayings have you heard?
- What do you see in the media?
- What kinds of ads are directed at each group?
* Thinking about the people you know personally, how well do you think the stereotypes match the reality? Discuss some examples.
* What are some of the major problems and issues addressed at each stage? What are some of the expectations?

- economically
* What do we think about people who do not meet the expectations for their stage of life? (e.g., a single man in his 40s living with his parents)
* What would we consider the "ideal" time of life? Why?
