ALL STUDENTS: The required CPR is current certification for Basic Life Support (for health care providers) through any of the following venues: BLS (Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider) which includes single-rescuer, 2-person, team basic life support with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics * American Heart Association (AHA) You can take as an in class course, or HeartCode on line through AHA and then have your skill checked by a certified AHA instructor (Blended Learning). OR*American Red Cross (ARC)OR*American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Military Students: AHA has recognized the Military Training Network (MTN) for Resuscitative Medicine Programs, thus the MTN provider cards are the equivalent of the corresponding AHA provider card. Your CPR card (hard card or Ecard) must be submitted to your compliance account. Note: No letters or certificates will be accepted, only the official CPR card is approved.*SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS:Acute Care Nurse Practitioner students are required to have BLS and ACLS certification.Pediatric CNS, Primary Pediatric NP, and Acute Care Pediatric NP and all post masters Pediatric certificate students are required to have BLS and PALS certification.Neonatal NP students are required to have BLS and NRPThe WSU College of Nursing and Health has two (2) types of course offerings to meet the BLS and ACLS requirements through American Heart Association (AHA): 1. BLS Instructor-Led Training: The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam. 2. Blended Training—AHA Blended Learning courses combine the flexibility of online training with in-person skills practice and testing. Register for the online course through American Heart Association: Find the course you need at ?? Complete on-line AHA course, print your Certificate of completion to bring to the skill check. Register to have your skills checked by an instructor: Register for the Skill portion by clicking the register tab on the above website. Once you have registered, you will be contacted to arrange an individual skill check in the College of Nursing; please be certain to bring your certificate of course completion of the online course with you to the skill check. ? ................
