Course Number: AERS 1106

Course Title: The Air Force Today II

Course Description: Introduces students to the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC); includes Officership, professionalism, military customs and courtesies, and officer opportunities and benefits; AFROTC cadets must register for Leadership Laboratory as it complements this course with followership experience.

Leadership Lab: 0

Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:

1. Know the concepts of professionalism and officership as they apply to the military.

2. Demonstrate basic communication skills.

3. Know the environment of the Air Force officer.

4. Know the basic principles of leadership.

5. Will apply effective followership and teamwork skills to mission accomplishment.

6. Will comprehend and apply proper Air Force customs and courtesies.

7. Will know and apply the Air Force Core Values.

8. Will apply Air Force dress and appearance standards.

9. Will have increased awareness of military presence in national and world affairs.

10. Will comprehend and apply basic Air Force documentation and briefing formats.

11. Will perform correct drill and ceremonies procedures and apply to official functions.

12. Will demonstrate physical fitness ability in three events: run, push-ups and sit-ups.
