Born February 1, 1922 in West Virginia

Served in the 8th AF , 94th BG, 332 Squadron

as a B-17 Tail Gunner

He had the rank of Tech Sergeant.

James Wareham

Born June 12, 1921 in Arnold, Pennsylvania.

Served in the 8th AF, 94th Bomb Group (H), 332rd SQ,

in England, during WWII.

He had the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and served as

a Navigator on a B-17

He was taken POW and interred at Stalag-Luft 1

James Wareham was discharged on April 29, 1945.

He passed away on April 23, 1989.

Gailard “Red” Ketchum [pic]

Born April 1st, 1926 in Perry County, Ohio.

Served in the 8th AF, 306th Bomb Group (H) 369th Squadron

in England during and after WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and was trained as a

Ball Turret gunner and participated as a Camera Operator on a B-17 bomber

aerial photographing all of Europe and North-Africa in the Top Secret

Operation “Casey Jones”.

Gailard Ketchum was discharged on June 20, 1946

Richard F. Harvey

Born October 30, 1921 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Served in the 8th AF, 95th Bomb Group (H), 336th SQ

in England, during WWII.

He had the rank of 1st Lieutenant and operated as

as a Pilot on a B-17.

He had 35 missions and participated in bombing actions

during the D-Day invasion.

Discharged in 1945.

Joe M. Diamond [pic]

Born January 21, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Served in the 8th AF, 92nd Bomb Group (H), 325th Squadron

England during WWII.

He had the rank of Lieutenant and operated as a

Navigator on a B-17 bomber

Flew 23 missions.

After WWII he joined the Air Force Reserves

and retired after 32 years as a Lt. Colonel

He was awarded the Air Medal with Clusters,

2 Purple Heart medals and a Distinguished Flying Cross.

Born June 3rd, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri

Served in the 8th AF, 306th Bomb Group (H), 376th Squadron

in England, during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as

Tail Gunner in a B-17.

He was discharged in 1945

Herman Ehrhard passed away, date not given.

Served in the 8th AF, 401st Bomb Group (H)

612th SQ in England, during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as

a Ball Turret Gunner.

He had 41missions in a B-17 named Carrie B II

He was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross,

Airmedals and medal from the French government.

Robert passed away on January 16, 2015

Born August 12, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio.

Served in the 5th AF,

during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as an

Aircraft Crew Chief and was discharged in 1948.

Ralph passed away in 1977.

Served in the Far East Air Service Command

of the 5th Air Force.

He had the rank of Captain and served as

an intelligence Officer

He was also a WWI veteran.

Discharged in 1945.

Herbert passed away on May 13, 1945.

Glen E. Alfter [pic]

Born September 26, 1924 in Dwight, Illinois.

Served in the 8th AF, 384th Bomb Group (H) 545th Squadron

in Grafton Underwood, England during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as a

Tail Gunner/Assistant Flight Engineer on a B-17 bomber.

Shot down on his 23rd mission, bombing Schweinfurt.

After his capture his was a POW in Krems, Austria.

He served in USAF for 30 years and passed away in August, 1982.

in Lavenham, England, during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as

He had 28 missions and was credited with (2) ME 109 kills.

Discharged in 1945.

Robert passed away in 1978 at age 54.

Air Traffic Control Tower Operator in the India-Burma Theater.

He received a Good Conduct Medal,

American Defense Service Medal,

Asiasic-Pacific Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Stars,

Victory Medal

He was discharged December 27, 1945.

Thomas passed away in August, 1982.

Michael J. Yarina

Born December 20, 1922 in Homestead, PA

Served in the 12th AF, 99th Bomb Group (H), 348th Squadron

in North Africa during WWII.

He had the rank of Tech Sergeant and operated as

Flight Engineer/ Top Turret Gunner in a B-17F and a B-29A.

He had (50) B-17F combat missions and (18) B-29A combat missions.

Retired from the US National Guard in 1982 as a Master Sergeant (E7).

Michael passed away on December 4, 2006.

Edgar H. Roberts [pic]

Born August 7, 1918 in Radnor, Ohio.

Served in the 12th AF, 99th Bomb Group (H) 348th Squadron

in North Africa during WWII.

He had the rank of Captain and served as a

pilot on a B-17 bomber.

Completed 50 combat missions and was

awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross

and two Presidential Unit Citations.

He was discharged in November, 1945.

Edgar has passed away.

Eldon Peacock

Born in 1925 in Quincy, Ohio.

Served in the 8th AF, 305th Bomb Group (H), 364th Squadron

in Chelveston, England, during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as

a Ball Turret Gunner on a B-17.

Eldon and his fellow crew members were killed in a mid-air

collision with another B-17 after returning from a bombing mission

over Germany on October 22, 1944.

Born August 22, 1922 in Sidney, Ohio.

Served in the 9th AF, 394th Bomb Group (M), 587th Squadron

in Boreham, England during WWII.

He had the rank of 1st Lieutenant and operated as a

pilot on a B-26 Martin Marauder bomber.

Flew 65 missions, including missions during the

Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.

Discharged in July, 1945

He was awarded the Air Medal with 2 Silver Clusters

and 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Also received the Victory in Europe Medal.

Served in the 8th AF, 351th Bomb Group (H), 508th Squadron

in Polebrook, England, during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as

Tail Gunner in a B-17.

He had 35 missions and was credited with (1) ME 109 kill

and (1) FW 190 kill.

Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and 6 Air Medals.

Discharged in 1945.

During his Cadet training he was the outstanding Cadet of his class.

Discharged in December 1945.

Norman has passed away.

a B-17 Tail Gunner.

He flew 25 missions and was awarded the Air Medal

and (2) Oak Leaf Clusters.

Discharged September 3rd 1945.

Stanley passed away in February 23, 2002

in RAF Attlebridge, England during WWII.

He had the rank of Staff Sergeant and operated as a

Ball Turret and Waste Gunner on a B-24 bomber.

Shot down, after his capture he was taken

to POW Camp Stalag Luft 4.

He participated in the Black Death March.

Awarded the Air Medal & Purple Heart Medal.

Discharged in September 1945
