The past few years have prompted a period of change for our organizations, and our employees. This change has come with both opportunities and challenges. Organizations have worked hard to take the lessons learned during and following the pandemic and combine those with our pre-pandemic operations, to make us more productive. How we get work done is evolving. Empathy, emotional intelligence, kindness, mindfulness, adaptability, self-motivation, resilience, collaboration, communication ? all once coined "soft skills" have become crucial success factors, and are now being referred to as "necessary skills." Assessing soft skills is becoming an essential part of the hiring process. These necessary skills strengthen our skills and abilities, and teams with these skills will be equipped to adapt more quickly and easily as the future of our work continues to evolve. There are many ways a lack of soft skills such as dependability, time management and critical thinking can derail an employee with solid technical skills. According to LinkedIn's 2019 Global Talent Trends report, 89 percent of recruiters say when a hire doesn't work out, it usually comes down to a lack of soft skills. Employers providing soft skills training report positive impacts on their workforce, including higher productivity and improved results. As today's skill shift accelerates, it is essential that organizations enhance and expand development initiatives for business longevity. Our primary focus at Troy CE&O is assisting individuals and organizations develop these necessary skills, by using a combination of self-assessments and feedback reports that will assist with prioritizing the necessary skills that their team members need to work on. In that regard, we are excited to launch our Briefcase Basics Luncheon Series in 2023. Make plans to join us individually, or bring your team, to hear and learn from leaders in our area on how they have managed to navigate challenges in their organizations over the years, and the "necessary skills" they look for when growing their teams and organizations. Training is a powerful solution that allows leaders to enhance their skillset anytime, anywhere. Increase employee engagement, while preparing your employees to become new leaders in the future - let Troy CE&O customize training to meet your needs! We look forward to working with you in 2023!

WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

Leadership Academy Committee Chair Thank you greatly for hosting Dothan's Leadership Class 40 opening retreat. There was so much more to take away from the Myers Briggs assessment than I would've ever thought! For a day that could have been very long, your energy kept it entertaining! I truly enjoyed it...something I think most of us did not expect. We appreciate the time taken to visit us and guide us through!

Kristen Murkerson, Offce Assistant Wiregrass Wealth Management, LLC

"I attended a class with one of your trainers and I have to say that is probably the best class I have been to recently. It was very informative and the trainer was excellent. It was easy to ask questions and the answers related back to us, not just some corporate answer that we are typically given in any training classes."

Client Course Participant

The Alabama Department of Transportation has been assisting with a Leadership Academy for our up and coming professionals since 2017. This academy provides an excellent opportunity for ALDOT employees to grow in their leadership potential. Troy CE&O has supported this effort in many ways, including updating our current training materials, and partnering with our leadership team, to assist them with their presentations. The success of the ALDOT Leadership Academy is in no small part due to the expertise provided by the Troy Continuing Education and Outreach Offce and the support they provide.
