Grading Policy: Each Nine Weeks - 50% Tests/Projects

20% Daily Grades/Homework

30% Quizzes

Supplies: The following materials are required every day:

• Composition Notebook

• Pencils and erasers

• A pen for corrections

The following materials are requested for classroom use:

• One box of Kleenex

• One bottle hand sanitizer

• One package of “AAA” batteries

Lesson Calendar: A lesson calendar will be posted on Google Classroom for your reference. It will contain assignment, keys and test information.

Daily Work: All students are expected to complete daily work. Work that is not completed becomes homework. All will work will be evaluated and the students will be given the

opportunity to correct their work, and ask questions before a final grade is assigned.

Absences/Late Work: You are responsible for getting you make-up work. Homework is due the following class period after it is assigned, unless otherwise specified. If you are absent on that day then it is your responsibility to come by and get a copy of the missed work. Those assignments and any projects made prior to the absence are due the day the student returns. In the event an absence is planned (extra-curricular activities etc….); students will obtain assignments in advance. Daily work will be accepted according to the district’s policy. You must make-up quizzes and tests before or after school, unless other arrangements are made.

Retest Policy:

• Any Exam grade below a 70% can be retaken. The new grade will be an average of the first test grade and the second test grade with a maximum retake score of 85%.

Textbook:

• Students will have the opportunity to acquire a Houghton Mifflin textbook at the beginning of the year. The book will not be used in class but can be a resource for working at home.

• They are responsible for returning the book at the end of the year and will be held accountable by the book room for the condition of your book.

Progress reports:

• Progress reports will be issued during the 3rd week and 6th week of each of the nine weeks grading period.
