Return to School – Questions and AnswersQ-Can parents eat lunch with their child?A-Currently, parents and visitors are not allowed to enter the school building.Q-Will parents be allowed to volunteer in their child’s classroom?A-Parents and visitors will not be allowed to enter the school building.Q-What days of the week will students attend school face-to-face?A-Students whose last names begin with A-K will attend school on Mondays and Wednesdays and students whose last names begin with K-Z will attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays for face-to-face instruction. Fridays will be virtual remote learning for all students.Q-What time will the school open and when will students be dismissed from school?A-The instructional day will begin at 8:15am and students will be dismissed at 3:00pm. Students may arrive on campus beginning at 7:45amQ-Will my child be required to wear a mask at school?A-Yes. Students and staff members are required to wear a mask while they are on campus.Q-What if my child is a car-rider?A-When students arrive on campus they will be greeted by a staff member. Students are asked to remain in their car while waiting for the staff member. Students will be allowed to enter the building if their temperature is less than 100.4F. If the student has a temperature of 100.4F or higher, or if they indicate they are experiencing COVID like symptoms, they will not be allowed to enter the school.Q-When will parents receive a car-rider tag?A-Parents will be issued a tag the first time they pick up their child.Q-When will dismissal occur for car-riders?A-Students will be dismissed at 3:00pm. Due to social distancing car-riders will be staged at several areas within the school. This may cause a slight increase in the time it takes for students to reach the front of the school. We appreciate your patience as we work to dismiss students safely and in a timely manner.Q-Will my child be required to wear a mask if they ride a bus?A-YesQ-Will my child’s temperature be taken if they ride a bus?A-Students temperatures will be taken as they exit the bus at school. If a student has a temperature of 100.4F or higher, or if they indicate they are experiencing COVID like symptoms, they will be escorted to a CARE center on campus. Students will remain in the CARE center until their parents/guardians can take them home.Q-Will students be offered breakfast?A-All students will be offered free breakfast until December 31, 2020. Students opting for breakfast will be served in the classroom.Q-Will students eat lunch in the cafeteria?A-Students will eat lunch in their classrooms. This will allow for continued social distancing.Q-What safety precautions will be implemented when students return?A-Students and staff members will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing while on campus. Hallways and floors are marked with directional signage so students are moving in the same direction and not crossing paths. In classrooms, desks are separated to allow social distancing and high touch areas will be sanitized throughout the day. Students will not be allowed to share personal items and will wash their hands routinely during the school day.Q-Can my child bring water to school?A-Yes. Students will be allowed to bring water bottles on campus and use throughout the day.Q-Are water fountains open in the school?A-Students can use the water fountain to fill their water bottle, however they will not be able to drink from the fountain.Q-Will students be allowed to remove their mask?A-All students and staff must wear their masks except when they are eating.Q-Will students be allowed to use the playground?A-Each classroom will be assigned a time for recess. Students will have access to the equipment but will remain with their assigned class. Classes will not be allowed to mix on the playground and/or the playground equipment. Q-What is the CARE center?A-The CARE center is a monitored room for students with a temperature of 100.4F or higher, or are exhibiting COVID like symptoms. Students will remain in the CARE room until parents arrive to take students home. ................
