THE APATHY EFFECT
"All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." -- Edmond Burke
This is a men-only event. All it takes to start a movement, create a cultural shift, end wars, and inspire hope for the many are a few men willing to courageously live out empathy. Right? But what happens when men abandon their roles as providers and protectors in their homes, work, and social spaces? The apathy effect. Edmond Burke said it best that "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." When we look at the landscape of our culture do we see the product of courageous men living out empathy, providing and protecting or do we see the product of apathy? Why is it critical that we as men live out empathy? How can we ultimately end child exploitation? "When men are not men everything breaks down because they are called to be leaders and protectors."
-- Survivor of sex trafficking, Avery Day
