By Kami Amaya With the day one update, or "Crown Update", sections of the guide have been rendered useless. Now, I'm not blaming Piggyback at all, they've even went as far as releasing a free PDF file with changes/additions. No, the blame for that rests on Square & the gaming industry as a whole, and the need to ship games ASAP even if they're incomplete. Day one patches should not be a normal occurrence. But anyways, I'm getting off track.

I'm still playing thru FFXV and haven't used the majority of the walkthru section, so I can not comment on that yet. However, sections like Fishing & Cooking are the most incomplete, again because of the update. Cooking only lists 46 recipes instead of 105. Fishing sections list 40 fish instead of 100. The Lure info is highly lacking, and one will spend hours fishing incorrectly if one does not use the free update. I know, it happened to me. Another thing I've noticed is that some of the maps are different compared to the in game map and it becomes even more noticeable when running around looking for items. My brother suggested that maybe the book maps are based off the minimap, which indeed looks different from the low-res world map.

Sadly, I wouldn't recommend this at all, no matter how awesome the hardback looks & feels. High quality pages, not cheap & thin paper like, for example, the World of Final Fantasy guide from Prima. Doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart or break the binding when I use it. It's definitely one of the better hardback guides I've bought. I just wish Piggyback would offer a reprint and maybe a trade-in for a guide that included the day one patch stuff.

EDIT 12/11/2016: Sadly, after very careful occasional usage the binding has broke. I don't know whether to rate this a 2 or 1 star now.

Going into the game, I had heard a lot about how expansive and complex its world was, so I felt a strategy guide would be a good investment. I am blown away by the amount of content in this tome. All the nitty-gritty details of the game's world, story, combat system, upgrades, and hidden items are laid out clearly and in a logical order. It also includes a lot of fantastic, colorful artwork printed on high-quality, glossy paper.

It is easy to tell that Piggyback truly poured their hearts into creating the best strategy guide they possibly could for a game that deserves it in Final Fantasy XV. I couldn't recommend this guide more to anyone interested in it. Amazon offers it for an excellent price as well!

By REM Very useful guide that has details covering pretty much every single aspect of the game, including tips on grinding EXP and what some of the best items are in the game and where to find them.

Could I find these information online by Googling them? Sure. But what this official guide offers is neatly organized and comprehensive information with high quality visuals that I can easily access with a few page flips. With a game like Final Fantasy XV that is jam-packed with contents and things to do, this guide has been a great help on more than one occasion.

Very good quality hardcover guidebook. It also came with a sizeable map that mirrors the in-game world, as well as a paper-sized artwork of the four heroes of the game.
