Legion of Mary
"It is part of the Divine arrangement which requires human cooperation and which does not save man otherwise than through man. It is true that Mary's treasury of grace is superabundant, but she cannot spend from it without our help."
This is from the Legion of Mary Handbook which is read and discussed at every weekly meeting on Mondays at 9:15 am in the CCD room off of the Father Albert parish hall. Come and discover how we help Our Lady!

Going Green: The Physical, Mental, and Emotional Problems Associated with Marijuana By Ben Johnson, -- Part 9 of 11
Although scientific studies indicate that marijuana is associated with profound mental illnesses, emotional problems, and physical diseases, a shocking number of Americans believe that weed is harmless or helpful -- possibly even a natural cure for cancer.
...That should be concerning for a panoply of reasons, since numerous studies show that marijuana use can harm people in (at least) the following ways:
9: Inability to feel joy: Researchers warn about higher THC levels causing cannabisinduced "anhedonia" -- a medical term which means the "inability to feel pleasure" in Greek. "Over years, the regular use of cannabis has substantially increased among young adults, as indicated by the rise in cannabis use disorder (CUD), with an estimated prevalence of 8.3% in the United States," said a March 2021 study in the peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Psychology. "Research shows that exposure to cannabis is associated with hypodopaminergic anhedonia (depression), cognitive decline, poor memory, inattention, impaired learning performance, reduced dopamine brain response-associated emotionality, and increased addiction severity in young adults."
Dear Folks,
Pastor's Piece
This Sunday we remember the beginning of the public ministry of our Lord with the
celebration of His baptism in the Jordan River. May our hearts be like that of Saint John the
Baptist in which we recognize that we are unworthy of approaching our Lord but being bold
because of the wonderful way in which He has chosen to include us in His plan of salvation.
When we look to ourselves we are very frightened of our being saved but when we look to how
mighty is our Savior we are filled with hope. May He increase and we decrease.
God Bless You,
-Fr. Beres
