Adult Students Program Scholarships Childcare Scholarships available to assist in offsetting the cost of childcare services. To apply, please complete the scholarship application through the Amarillo College Foundation at actx.edu/foundation/application/. Students must apply every academic year to be considered. Counseling/ Mental Health Resources

Amarillo College Counseling Center Students often seek counseling services for many reasons. One thing these students have in common is that something is going on personally which keeps them from reaching their goals. If the issues you face are outside the scope of our counselors or if additional resources would be helpful, then referral sources will be provided.

Here are some examples of reasons that a student may want to seek counseling: test anxiety, time management, academic adjustment/concerns, strategies for handling anxiety, stress, or depression, relationship troubles, transitions in life, identity exploration, eating concerns, or feeling overwhelmed.

To schedule an appointment, please call 806-371-5900. Sessions are free for current AC students. Family Support Services Counseling, Advocacy for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and human trafficking, Veterans Resource Center, Parenting Education, etc.

National Alliance Mental Illness (NAMI) Texas Panhandle NAMI Texas Panhandle is a nonprofit that provides FREE support groups and classes for individuals living with mental illness and their family members. Mental illness includes diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and more. NAMI also provides advocacy and help people receive the services they need. Texas Panhandle Centers Texas Panhandle Centers Behavioral and Developmental Health (TPC), formerly known as Texas Panhandle Mental Health Mental Retardation, is part of the Texas Community Center system and is governed by a local board of trustees representing the citizens of the upper twenty-one counties of the Texas Panhandle.

TPC serves individuals with behavioral health needs (mental illness), intellectual and developmental disabilities and children with developmental delays.

Play Therapy & Counseling Services Services include: grief/bereavement, behavioral management, depression, anxiety, life skills building, stress management, parenting support, life transition. AWCC provides mental health counseling for adults, teens, children, and families. Operating off of a sliding scale fee that is designed to provide mental health services for all persons, regardless of income. Services are also offered in Spanish.
