The Council of the City of Oregon met Tuesday January 14, 2020, 5:30 P.M.

In the City Hall Council Chambers.

Commissioner Tim Krug started the pledge of allegiance.

Public Comment

City Clerk Charlene Ruthe announced that she will be retiring April 13, 2020. She thanked the Mayor, Council, past Mayors, past Council, and employees for the past twenty-six and half years.

Commissioner Kurt Wilson moved to approve the December 17, 2019 minutes, Seconded by Commissioner Melanie Cozzi.

Mayor Ken Williams moved to approve the Liquor License for Business Benefits, Inc dba Courthouse Tavern, Seconded by Commissioner Tim Krug.

Discussion: This license will replace Messenger’s Bar & Grill. Wiesner’s already have two restaurants in town Franklin Street Pub and Father & Son.

Roll Call: Cozzi, Krug, Schuster, Wilson, Williams. No Nays.

Commissioner Terry Schuster moved to approve the settlement per Audit from Azavar, Seconded by Commissioner Kurt Wilson.

Discussion: Azavar Audit is making sure the city collects the correct taxes from the utility companies.

Roll Call: Cozzi, Krug, Schuster, Wilson, Williams. No Nays.

Mayor Williams handed out a schedule of fines and fees. Since updating the codebook will have its own section for fines and fees rather than have the amounts in each section. This way will be more cost efficient. Would like everyone to look over and discuss and vote on at the next Council meeting.

Commissioner Kurt Wilson moved to approve the Raffle License for Oregon Lions Club, Seconded by Commissioner Terry Schuster.

Roll Call: Cozzi, Krug, Schuster, Wilson, Williams. No Nays.

Chief Darin DeHaan handed out the police departments year-end report.

Commissioner Schuster announced we have five Façade Grant Applications on file. Commerce Building, Edward Jones, Atletico, Wiggle Building, and Courtyard Tavern.

Mayor Ken Williams stated that the Council would be going into executive session to discuss a lease agreement with CMAA to lease the Coliseum building. No vote will take place after executive session.

Commissioner Kurt Wilson moved to go into executive session to discuss lease of real estate, Seconded by Commissioner Tim Krug.

Roll Call: Cozzi, Krug, Schuster, Wilson, Williams. No Nays.

Commissioner Terry Schuster moved to convene to regular session, Seconded by Commissioner Melanie Cozzi.
