For a newspaper: don’t use the words ‘a’ or ‘the’ as the first word in the newspaper title. If the city of publication is not part of the title, put it in square brackets after the title as seen above otherwise leave it out. Give the day, month, and year of the issue. If sections are designated, give the section letter as well as the page number. Note: no period is needed after the title of the magazine or newpaper.

Your final copy will be one long list of works used, entitled Works Cited, and placed at the end of your essay/report. Double space every line, indenting 5 spaces if you have to use a second or third line. Put your citations in alphabetical order by the author’s last name (or the first item in your citation). Do not number your citations but number your page if you have done so in your essay/report.
