Dear AMA Members and Students,

Welcome to AMA! I am so excited to be able to partner with you for this upcoming year at CSULB. Our Executive Board has spent all summer long to prepare an awesome schedule that includes socials, community service, internships, the AMA International Collegiate Conference just to name a few.

During the summer, the E-board got together to address some things that could use some tinkering. The mutual consensus was that we all wanted to establish AMA not just as a business organization, but also as a family. Though we are still dedicated in providing you the upmost professional development, we will all stive to get to know all of you on a personal basis. We would like to shed any inkling of a cold exterior shell, and pursue a community-styled organization that puts a premium on member involvement.

To accomplish this, we have really retooled our agenda to make everything directed at not just group development, but growth for the individual. I am excited to present a new venture CSULB AMA will be creating. We are starting a club-run marketing agency that will be involving our members in various committees. As the year gets situated we will be rolling or more detailed information.

Every Spring, CSULB sends representatives to New Orleans, LA for the AMA International Collegiate Conference. At that conference, students have the opportunity to attend professional workshops, listen to professional marketers, and most of all network with college students like us. In the past, CSULB AMA has done exceptionally well and has won many awards. This school year we want to break all the records and send more than 50 members! The bar is set high, but with this excellent Executive Board and your involvement, the sky is the limit!

So I can't wait to meet you. And if you were able to get all the way through this letter, please come up and say hi to me.

Best regards, Steven Lee President

Dear AMA Members and Students,

On behalf of the E-board and myself I would like to welcome all of you to another year in which AMA plans to leave its mark on the Cal-State University Long Beach campus and the community.

Each semester AMA sets out to meet and exceed its goals. For the past several years the organization has been one of the most dynamic on campus. During the past year, the organization distinguised itself at the National Conference in New Orleans among the hundredths of schools in attendance from all areas of the United States. Through all of the hard work by the membership and the Executive Board, our chapter was recognized with 4 National Awards. This is an outstanding accomplishment that exist from all the other schools who participated.

Although a large number of members have gone on to graduate and start their careers, we are buoyed by the fact we have a large group of returning members and a infusion of new members which will keep us all striving to improve our organization.

It is important that all of you recognize your potential and the potential of this group to make a dramatic difference not just as members, but through our community outreach programs we can assist those lives who are in need. Utilize your involvement in the AMA to not only grow as a young professional but as a human being.

As your Faculty Advisor, I am here to assist and provide you guidance, whether on a professional or personal level. I look forward to another exciting year in which AMA will settle for nothing but the best.

Best regards, Professor Tomlin
