In this office we work in a free ranging environment to encourage collaboration Purpose of the roleThe purpose of this role is to provide Wellbeing and Safety support for FMG and fit for purpose Health and Safety advice, coaching and guidance to the business. This is with a view to driving the building of individual and business capability that drives business performance and the achievement of FMG’s strategic goals. As this role is an important part of the Workplace Relations and broader HR team, there will be a requirement to work collaboratively within the team and with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver Wellbeing and Safety services and initiatives as required across the wider FMG business. Key ResponsibilitiesAreaResponsibilities People Leader Coaching and AdviceProvides advice, coaching and guidance to people leaders across all aspects of Wellbeing and Safety.Takes a proactive approach to:Building the Wellbeing and Safety capability of leaders;Embedding sound Wellbeing and Safety knowledge and practical application;Ensuring a safe work environment for FMG workers.This will enable our people leaders to enhance the capability, performance and engagement of their employees and teams. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with people leaders to proactively anticipate their requirements and partner with them to deliver on their Wellbeing and Safety needs effectively and efficiently. Operational Support – Wellbeing and Safety Supports the Manager, Wellbeing & Safety with leading FMG’s Wellbeing and Safety policy, procedures, education and reporting framework in accordance with both FMG and legislative requirements.Supports the Manager, Wellbeing & Safety with developing and promoting and wellbeing programme and related initiatives.Involvement in and oversight of incident investigations, corrective actions and outcomes and reporting of incidents/events, escalating issues to the Manager, Wellbeing & Safetyas appropriate.Leads Wellbeing and Safety Coaches in Wellbeing and Safety initiatives and their roles as Health and Safety representatives. Participates in Wellbeing and Safety projects as and when required.Works in a safe manner at all times, acting as a role model to the business on safety and wellbeing matters.ReportingMeasures, monitors and reports on W&S metrics and initiatives as required and analyses and interprets information to support continuous improvement.Evaluates findings and recommends appropriate actions from audits.Proactively seeks to understand developing trends, themes or issues and, in consultation with the Manager, Wellbeing & Safety, addresses these with managers and/or business leaders.TrainingInvolvement in the development and delivery of Wellbeing & safety related education to FMG employees and plianceLeads compliance requirements relating to W&S policy and procedures.Contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of FMG policy, SOP’s, standards and practices. Maintains excellent working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety legislation in order to ensure compliance with minimum standards and recommend changes where necessary.Ensures delivery of Wellbeing and Safety processes meet FMG practice and compliance requirements including identifying and escalating issues to ensure they are effectively managed and resolved to mitigate plies with company policies, guidelines and procedures.Team Participation & Personal DevelopmentProactively assists and supports People,Culture and Communications team colleagues and other stakeholders.Maintains a high level of personal and professional development by attending relevant industry seminars and reading literature to keep abreast of the latest Wellbeing & Safety practices and developments in relevant NZ legislation.
